Dr. Ryan K. Austin grew up in Layton, Utah where he went to Northridge High School. He then served a church mission in Japan, attended Weber State University and completed dental school at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. There, he became very interested in the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial at the University of TennesseeMemphis. He gained extensive experience in wisdom teeth removal, IV sedations, dental implants, facial trauma,and corrective (orthognathic) jaw surgery. Part of his residency training also included rotations in medicine, anesthesia, general surgery, emergency medicine, intensive care, ENT-head and neck surgery, plastic surgery and oculoplastic surgery.
After completing residency, he worked as an attending, teaching oral surgery and general practice dentistry residents at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He also worked as an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee dental school teaching 3rd and 4th year dental students. During his time working at the VA, he became a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and is now a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
He is very excited to now have this opportunity to practice in his home state of Utah in a city near to where he grew up. He looks forward to providing optimal care to his patients. He and his wife Jerianne, have 5 children (4 girls and 1 boy). He very much loves the time he gets to spend with his wife and children. In his free time he enjoys golfing, water and snow skiing, playing tennis and basketball, and playing the piano.
I had a really good experience getting my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Austin. I was anxious going in there, but him and the staff made me feel comfortable. He also called me afterwards to check in on how I was doing. I would recommend going to him for wisdom teeth removal!

Awesome doctor. Obviously he knows what he is doing but on top of it, he is a great communicator and makes sure you feel good about what he is doing. He always checks in before the procedure to review the gameplan for the visit to ensure 1. You know what he will be doing and 2. It is what you, as the patient, were planning on and expecting so there are no surprises. He then calls you after a major procedure on same day to check in on you and let you know how it went from his professional perspective (if you were sedated)... Five star guy for sure.

Awful experience, every time I end up in the waiting room for an hour, the dentist didn't seem to care, he came in pulled my teeth and said have a nice day, was not really given much after care instruction, and kind of negative rude attitudes, would not recommend. 0/10.

My daughter had a tooth extracted and a tooth exposed. The office personal was kind. The doctor and nurses asked me several times if I had questions about the surgery and worked to educate me. They gave me a paper about aftercare, but also talked through it with me. The doctor gave us a call that night to check on her. We had a short one week follow-up, he said things looked good. Financially, they were reasonable to work with.

It was by far the most pleasant experience that I have ever had getting a tooth removed. The office is beautiful, all of the staff are very friendly, and quite professional. Dr. Austin listened carefully to every concern that I had. He addresses them with the utmost professionalism, which brought major relief to me. As far as an extraction goes, I couldn't have asked for a better care provider. I have found the perfect place for me to handle any oral surgery needs that may arise. If I were you, I would take great comfort allowing Dr. Austin to be your oral surgeon also. Give him 10% of your trust and I promise he will earn the other 90%. By the way when he personally called to check up on me a few hours after the procedure, I knew I had never met a more caring doctor ever. Thank you to you and your amazing staff for helping me.

We went to Dr Austin for a second opinion after my daughter had a major anxiety attack just hearing what the other oral surgeon was going to do. My daughter has never had any sort of sedation and the concept of being sedated scared her terribly. Both my son and daughter needed their wisdom removed. They both had very different needs and personalities. Dr Austin and his staff were AMAZING at meeting each of their individual needs. They adapted to each of them and respected their needs and desires. They truly make their patients important. Beyond that Dr Austin has excellent skills. He is very skilled in the latest least invasive procedures. I greatly recommend them.

Dr. Austin and his staff are just amazing. My youngest son had 2 wisdom pop through over the weekend and we were able to get them removed this week. My son was very nervous beforehand and they knew what to do. He ended up removing all 4 in less than 15 minutes. That blew my mind. His nurse was very kind and friendly and very thorough about the procedure and what to do/expect after the removal and when the sedation wears off. Dr. Austin was just as nice. I have never used them before but I am so glad that Brigham City has this kind of Doctor in town now. I highly recommend them for any mouth or face surgery. My other son will be getting his wisdom teeth removed in a few weeks.

We had a fantastic experience (as good as you could possibly hope for when you're having your wisdom teeth removed. Ha!) Dr. Austin's staff was absolutely amazing, totally warm, hospitable, and knowledgeable. They have been wonderful! Dr. Austin was also amazing, and I love that we can do this right here in Brigham City, in a quaint, quiet setting, right here close to home. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend coming to this Brigham City office for wisdom teeth removal. Our experience has been just awesome!

You're always nervous trying a new doctor for dental procedures. Dr. Austin was recommended to me by my regular dentist to get an implant done. Honestly I have been so impressed with Dr. Austin. He made me feel welcome and has a very friendly personality. He was professional yet personable. His office staff is very accommodating. Because of my first experience with him, I am getting a second implant done. I highly recommend him to anyone looking around. I'm sure you will be as impressed as I was.
