As a dentist, I have the ability to make lasting, positive changes for others. Improving a persons appearance, dentally, can be a life-changing event for them. Offering the latest techniques and treatment ensures painless care and lasting results that restore function and are beautiful. My patients deserve the best dental care, whether theyre here for an exam and cleaning, need relief from pain, or want to make their smile more attractive.

Dentistry is about caring for the whole person, not only teeth. Each patient has unique clinical and emotional goals and concerns. Its essential my team and I understand what a patient needs from us, in order to ensure the best treatment experience and results. I spend a lot of time talking with each patient about what they want from care: the more I know, the better I can serve them.

I chose to become a dentist as I was drawn to the unique combination of technical skills, knowledge, and healthcare, along with a desire to improve lives. Ive been practicing since 1995 and opened my practice in 1998. Since then, Ive developed some wonderful friendships with patients. They are members of my extended family and I love hearing about their families and lives. Ive practiced long enough to now be caring for the smiles of the children of some of my first patients!

My team members have a unique ability to make each patient feel comfortable and safe. They work to get to know a patient on a personal level, not just professionally. They are highly skilled, knowledgeable, and work together seamlessly. Each has worked in dentistry for many years and instinctively knows how to put a patient at ease.

My team is my single most valuable asset. I have never had to dismiss an employee or have a staff member leave the practice. In 18 years Ive only brought on one team member and shes been a fantastic addition to our practice family.

I am constantly learning, staying abreast of the changing techniques and technology. This makes me a better clinician and allows me to provide the best care for my patients. Continuing education also allows me to offer treatment options that were not previously available.

Each year I complete many continuing education courses. Im also a member of the Seattle Study Club and have studied at the Center of Excellence in Periodontics. Im certified in Biomet (3i) Implants as well as Bicon Implants.

I grew up in Mountainside, NJ and have called Berkeley Heights home for about 20 years. My wife, Cathryn, and I have been married for more than 20 years. We have three children: Brendan is about to start at the University of Scranton and will be playing baseball there. Cory is in high school and has his 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Our daughter, Tara, is also in high school and loves playing softball and basketball.

Most nights youll find me at the ball field, watching my childrens games or cheering for the Yankees. I also love skiing, boating, fishing, and traveling. I enjoy working with my hands and am into home improvement projects: Im always building something!

Ive volunteered to coach many youth sports over the years. I feel young people need a good role model as a coach. I teach each about the importance of fair play, sportsmanship, and integrity in addition to the nuts-and-bolts of playing the game.

I also volunteer time in local preschools, teaching kids about their dental health and how to keep their smiles clean and healthy. Additionally, Ive volunteered in dental outreach programs for underprivileged youth. And when I was an undergraduate I helped organize the dental outreach program at the New Jersey Dental School.

I enjoy learning about our patients lives and building relationships with them. I started with our practice in 1998 and treasure the friendships Ive made. Our patients are an extension of my family and I care for them as such. Our team is a cohesive group. Each of us is passionate about delivering exceptional care and patients benefit from our experience and commitment.

My days are spent helping patients. I seat them, make sure theyre comfortable, and prepare them to see Dr. Lake. Working chairside, I act as a second pair of hands for the doctor while talking with the patient about what were doing. At the end of a procedure, I offer home care instructions, answer questions, and make sure our patient is happy with all weve done.

When not working, I love time with my husband, especially traveling and going to the beach. I have two sons and a grandchild on the way! I also have a dog, Lexy, and we like our walks. Ive been known to enjoy a good movie and love good meals out, too.

I like helping people develop their best oral health and a smile they love. Its wonderful when a patient makes changes in their home care and I see a clean, healthy smile at a recall visit! I joined Dr. Lake and our team in 2006 and found my home. My teammates and Dr. Lake are positive and knowledgeable. We all genuinely care about patients on the clinical and personal levels.

I offer a range of dental hygiene care, tailored to each persons unique concerns. I update the patients medical and dental history, examine their mouth, and clean their teeth and gums. Much of the time spent with a patient is focused on education. I teach them about their oral health and how its connected to overall wellness. Together, we find the right home care processes and tools to keep their teeth healthy and smile looking incredible.

I enjoy welcoming new patients to our practice and building a relationship with them. Its just as wonderful to strengthen connections with established patients. Ive been with Dr. Lake and our team since 1998 and am happy to be part of a positive, patient-focused office. We all work well together and that means the smoothest, most comfortable experience for patients.

Time with my family is a priority. Ive been married for 40 years and have two children and two wonderful grandchildren. I love being outdoors and in touch with nature, as well as cooking, golfing, and hiking. Im an active member of St. George Parish in Linden, too.
