Amanda Spivey, D.D.S. grew up in Northwest Indiana, about 30 minutes south of downtown Chicago. She attended Indiana University Bloomington where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and a Business certificate. Dr. Spivey then moved to Chicago and worked in multiple dental offices leading up to studying at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry.
Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Spivey found her way to the Pacific Northwest via the Swedish Medical Center General Practice Residency a year-long, hospital-based residency program. During her residency year, she had advanced training in medically complex patients, oral surgery, dental implant placement, and various sedation techniques. She has continued her service with Swedish Medical Center as an Attending Dentist with the residency program.
Dr. Spivey has been practicing Kirkland dentist for over 5 years. Drs. Fox and Spivey met in 2015 when they were both elected as new members to the Executive Council of the Seattle King County Dental Society. In addition to being involved with her profession, she is a very conscientious clinician and understands peoples innate fears of the dentist. She has worked at numerous community health centers in order to give back to the neighborhoods in Chicago, Denver, and Seattle. Amanda and her husband, Chris, got married in September 2015 at the Trinity Tree Farm in Issaquah; they have a dog adopted from the Kauai Humane Society named Vlkl. Her interests outside of dentistry include yoga, skiing, traveling, dancing, road-biking, cooking, and most other activities that allow her to be in the great outdoors!
