Dr. Shivangi Amin is a periodontal treatment and oral implantology specialist. While originally from India, Dr. Amin has also lived in Mauritius, North Carolina, California, New York City, and now resides in beautiful Richmond, Virginia. After graduating dental school from an Island in Mauritius, Dr. Amin continued her studies and completed the postgraduate education program in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at NYU College of Dentistry and received a Masters in Biomaterials from NYU as well.
Dr. Amin is dedicated to continuing her education and staying current on dental research and technique. She is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Periodontology and a member of the American Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association, and Richmond Dental Association. She is board certified by the American Academy of Periodontology in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry and is certified in Esthetic Dentistry and Laser Dentistry.
During her free time, Dr. Amin enjoys exercising, hiking, playing tennis, traveling, and trying new foods. As a self-proclaimed foodie, she welcomes suggestions and recommendation for new restaurants to try! Dr. Amin also spends time teaching in the Periodontics Department as Adjunct Faculty at VCU College of Dentistry.

Very satisfied with my experience of getting dental implant from beginning (extraction) to the end (implant). Had bone/membrane grafting done to prepare the site before proceeding with Implant-- didn't rush into it, very professional and guideline based dental implant practice I have seen. Took 9 months with good follow up and no rush. Continual collaboration with my primary dentist throughout. Very Professional and friendly staff (front desk and the dental assistants). Will definitely recommend Dr Shivangi Amin to anyone who wants and values thorough work based on guidelines (no short cuts/hasty practices).

It was a very unpleasant experience. The woman of Indian origin who attended me was absolutely abrupt in the way she examined my mouth, inserting her fingers, she was also very impatient and even annoyed by my difficulty in understanding her English. She was not nice to explain to me the treatment that I must follow to the point that her assistant, when she left, without asking her, explained it to me and she looked a little embarrassed by the treatment of that woman. The other people who attended me both at the reception and the assistant of this woman were very kind. I do not want to return to this place and I do not recommend it As long as this woman is taking care of patients

My first visit regarding a serious bridge situation. Staff in reception was awesome, Kathy the hygienist is the bomb, she was amazing. Kathy shared information regarding taking care of my teeth, and with bridges it was priceless. After all the years of great dental care (and regular), she was a cut above. Dr. Amin diagnosed and set up a plan in minutes. I am looking forward to going back for the procedure. I recommend RVA Periodontics and Dental Implant Center with a full 10!
