Located on Highway 74-A Bypass, Rutherford County Family and Childrens Dentistry has been serving the community since 2011 (formerly DEST Family Dentistry of Rutherford County) providing quality dentistry through all phases of general, restorative, aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry with your own hometown dentist Dr. Ashley Lowery. Dr. Ashley Lowery is a native of Rutherford County and a graduate of Gardner Webb University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill school of Dentistry. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, The North Carolina Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Lowery serves her community through involvement with Rutherford Town Revitalization, Rutherford Outdoor Coalition, Womens League, and various other organizations and committees throughout the community.
Dr. Lowery has been in private practice in Rutherford County since 2011. She strives to serve the community by providing exceptional dental care. She does this by continually expanding her own education and educating her patients about the status of their oral health to help them understand what is happening in their mouths, and why. She believes in empowering patients to help them understand how better oral health can help their complete, total health.
Dr. David Hendrick is a native of Shelby, North Carolina and is the ultimate Carolina Man. He studied at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and received a Bachelor of Science in Dentistry in 1992. He then went on and continued his education to receive his DDS at UNC in 1995. TarHeels!
As a dentist with over 20 years of experience, he strives to make each visit safe and comfortable. His main goal is to try to change the publics perception of dentistry and dentists so that people can overcome their fear of going to the dentist!
He has had training in cosmetic, reconstructive, implant, endodontic, and Invisalign/Clear Correct dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and Isothermal Dental Society.
A native of Colorado, Dr. Thome graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2001. After seven years as a successful general dentist in Kansas City, MO, Dr. Thome decided to pursue his true passion for childrens dentistry. He completed his pediatric dental residency at Nova Southeastern University and treated many patients at the renowned Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital.

Absolutely wonderful place! My son and I both go here and I love it so does my kid. The staff are friendly, when my son (4) gets a a little scared they encourage him and are so sweet and patient with him and he actually talks about going back to see his "silly dentist doctor" because he has "the coolest socks!" (Dr. John). Everyone there are very sweet, genuine, and nice people. Thank you all for making my kiddo love the dentist and cleaning his teeth! 10 out of 10 recommend!

We've been coming to Rutherford Pediatric for a few years now,and we love it. My son is wheelchair bound and the nurses and doctors always accommodate him as much as they can. Ms.Elaine is the sweetest! Dr.John is very patient with my son,he doesn't care much for the dentist,so it's nice to have a doc that takes his time with him and doesn't get frustrated.

I have 5 children which have been going to this dentist for about 6 years. We always have a great experience here. The dental hygienists are friendly and answer my children's questions. The dentist is quick, efficient, and explains things in an easy to understand way.

Rutherford Pediatric Dentistry is to be commended for the excellent service's they provide to our community. Staff members provide explanations as procedures are being provided, they take time to show kindness, provide comfort measures, education on assessment outcomes and needs. Provide referrals and information on businesses they refer patients too. I am very appreciative to have such a welcoming and caring service in our area.

Dental hygienist and dentist was really informative and knowledgeable. When the dentist was ready for my 2 year olds exam the dentist talked a bit about what we needed to know and got all the questions out of the way before doing the cleaning and checking the teeth. After the exam we went back to questions we may have at that point. They had a free options for my 2 year old to watch on tv to help keep her calm. Overall a good visit and recommended.
