We recommend routine dental cleanings for several reasons. When we perform a professional cleaning, we remove the buildup of plaque and tartar. We also clean the parts of your childs teeth that are hard to reach, such as underneath the gums.

Russell S Pollina DDS PC - Pediatric dentist in Mount Prospect, IL

We truly believe that regular dental examinations are important in order for your child to have good dental health and a smile of which he or she can be proud. We start by doing a professional cleaning, removing all of the bad tartar and other buildup on your childs teeth.

We are usually able to fill in broken teeth to make them look like normal teeth. We even use a cement that is the color of your childs teeth. If that does not work, we offer veneers and caps to cover up any broken teeth.

We are proud to offer sedation to give our patients a stress-free visit. One of the most commonly used types of sedation is nitrous oxide, which is also known as laughing gas. This helps many children relax during their procedure.

We believe that fluoride works well to strengthen childrens teeth. It also has been shown to help prevent tooth decay in people of all ages. For this reason, the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Medical Association believe that topical fluoride is necessary for good oral health.

It is very important to be prepared in case your child has an emergency. Even though we wish that they wouldnt, emergencies do happen. Being educated and knowing what to do in an emergency can be the difference between losing and saving a tooth. You also need to know your dentists phone number.

Dental fillings are used to treat different dental problems like cavities and broken teeth. Teeth are usually filled with a material called composite resin, which is designed to look like natural teeth. Fillings can also be done with porcelain.

While orthodontics is sometimes considered mostly cosmetic, it is important to fix these problems for a healthy mouth. Teeth that are crooked or do not line up are the perfect place for food and bacteria to hide. They can also be hard to clean, leading to cavities and other problems down the line.

The goal in treating problem teeth is to ensure a healthy mouth in the future. It is important to close any gaps between teeth and to make sure the teeth all line up correctly. Sometimes teeth are crooked and need to be straightened. Orthodontics can also improve eating and even a patients speech in some cases.

We're long time patients of his and after several years with the same dental insurance, we switched to Delta Dental. Since we are current and have been relatively happy with our care, we show up for our scheduled appointment and ask, are we "in network" with this new plan? They take the card, copy it, and reassure me twice during that visit, "yes, we are in network." I say out loud, "are you sure? Because if we are not, we are going to leave and reschedule" They reiterate, "yes, we are. Don't worry about it." When the proceed to get routine services that are listed as "100% covered" per our plan. Two weeks later, we get two bills for two dates of service. We suffer on hold with Delta and find out, "NO he is not part of our network." I call for clarification. The billing manager at his office tells us, "sorry, we are not in your Delta network, so you are going to have to pay this bill which is over $500." Furious, I remind her of our convo on the day of service. No luck. They want our money and we feel that this "surprise billing" was at best an error of incompetence, or at worst, an willful omission in orer to get a higher payment as out of network providers. We canceled our upcoming appointments and will not be going back.

Would give Zero stars If I could. All they care about is money and they try and charge you for things you didn't even ask for. I brought my Granddaughter in for an appointment today and they weren't prepared. The Dr. Yelled at the assistant after making us wait for 30 minutes to get the room ready. Then they informed us they would only do a fraction of the work for more money than was estimated. When we said no and we're leaving, they had the audacity to try and charge us $150 for the visit. We left and will never go back. I wouldn't trust an operation like them to work on a cadaver, much less my Granddaughter!

If you're looking for a dental care for your kiddos, this is the place to be! As a mother of 3 boys, I LOVE that all your dental care including orthodontics at one location. My kids have begun seeing Dr. Pollina and his caring staff since they were 2yr.olds, and love them! It's one place for all my kids' dental appointments! My oldest had braces in 2nd grade as soon as he needed, and has been wearing retainers since 4th grade. It prob. couldn't be possible without regular check ups with the expert in orthodontics. Also, one of my twins had his molar grow naturally (it had been stuck in the gum due to limited space/too close to the next tooth) with the noninvasive treatment. As a mom, it is comforting to know that Dr. Pollina and his crew choose invasive treatments as a last resort!

I came in with my two daughters recently and fell absolutely in love with the staff. My girls were both very anxious and worried for their first appointment at a new office but we walked in and were greeted by a woman with curly hair and a friendly smile. She introduced herself to my girls and talked with them about their day. It was a really nice gesture to make them feel welcomed and comfortable. The appointment went so smoothly too! My girls didn't cry or act nervous ONCE, and they're usual screamers and criers! It's incredible how Dr. Khan and Paulina were able to keep my girls calm and make the cleaning interactive and fun. The same curly haired woman helped us out with our next appointment and she was the sweetest and most understanding with our crazy schedule! Can't wait to come back with my girls for our next appointments!
