Our PhilosophyOur office philosophy has been consistent since it was founded almost 50 years ago by Dr. Richard Norberg. We focus on listening to your needs and desires then tailoring the experience and outcome to you as an individual. Each person has a different set of goals and interests for their mouth. Every patient has a different comfort level when it deals with dentistry. We work to meet you where you are. We strive for you to leave feeling great and unlike any previous dental experience.
Our FocusThe field of dentistry has evolved from focusing simply on treating cavities (tooth decay) to now recognizing the important link between oral health the overall systemic health of a patient. At Russell Hill Dental, we emphasize disease prevention, instead of the typical disease treatment. We focus on maintaining a healthy mouth and a beautiful smile and recognize the importance of this in a patients overall health.
Our providers take a comprehensive dental approach, looking at your mouth as a whole the relationship between the teeth, gums, supporting bone and jaw muscles. These structures must work in balance to allow us to function and smile comfortably for a lifetime. Your comfort is our priority, both in your mouth and your comfort in our office. We work to develop a relationship with you, ease any dental anxiety and make sure you understand the work that needs to be done. We take a patient-focused approach at every level of our office. Each patient has different needs: clinically, lifestyle, finances, and comfort levels. If you only need your 6-month cleanings, or you need a full-mouth rehab, our highly-trained team strives to provide you the best care that fits in with your lifestyle, is affordable, and make you as comfortable as possible. We aim to get to know you and your needs and we do this through open communication, allowing time at every visit for you to address any questions or concerns that you may have.
A majority of our team has been working at Russell Hill for over 10 years. We are a tight-knit group that enjoys working and laughing together. You will most likely hear someone laughing at a joke in the back of the office during your visit. We make sure that Russell Hill is a fun place to work and that translates into our patient care! Our patients are part of our family and many of our patients have been coming here for over 10 years! When you become a patient here, you become part of the family. While we may be laughing all day long, our staff is all highly trained and work their hardest to make your smile the best it can be. We are proud of the work that we do and we want you to be proud of the smile you have!
I am originally from Asheville, North Carolina, and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for my undergraduate studies. I continued my education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, receiving my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree summa cum laude. Following completion of this program, I pursued additional elective training in general dentistry, completing the general practice residency at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
It was at MGH that I met Dr. Vidal. During my residency, I was able to work closely with Dr. Vidal and who then, together with Dr. Pantano, invited me to practice together.I joined Russell Hill Dental in the fall of 2015, and have enjoyed getting to know the town of Winchester and its residents, both in my practice and in events around town. I provide a wide range of dental services as a general practitioner, and emphasize patient care and communication. I live in Boston with my husband, Andy. We love to explore the city and enjoy biking, playing racquet sports and cooking.
I am originally from Newton, MA. I received my bachelor's degree from Wheaton College in Norton, MA, and my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. My passion for dentistry started at a very young age. Inspired by my grandmother and aunt, who were both dentists, I developed a deep appreciation for the importance of oral health. During my time at Tufts, I was awarded the certificate of Excellence in Operative Dentistry, and Excellence in General Dentistry award. I also served as the president of the volunteer organization, Smile Squad, where I led numerous outreach events in the Greater Boston Community. Following my graduation from Tufts, I proudly served in the United States Navy for 4 years, where I provided comprehensive dental care to our sailors and marines. During my time in the Navy, I mentored incoming dentists in the utilization of digital dental equipment and taught medical personnel how to provide basic dental care for submariners at sea. Myfianc, Nick, and I live in Natick with our 3-year-old pup Oliver. I consider myself a fitness enthusiast. I love working out and staying active. In warmer weather I enjoy golf and horseback riding.
I practiced dentistry at Russell Hill Dental for almost 30 years and have been a resident of Winchester since 1991 with my wife Lorraine, who is an anesthesiologist at Winchester Hospital. We have a son and daughter who attended Winchester Public Schools. I am originally from Dedham, Massachusetts where I attended Dedham High School. I graduated from Boston College in 1979. In 1983 I graduated from Case Western Reserve Dental School with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (D.D.S.). As a general practitioner I provide a complete range of dental services. When not practicing dentistry I am an avid sports fan with special interest in Boston College teams. I am also interested in gourmet food and wine and am a weekend gardener.

I've been a patient of Dr. Vidal for about two years now. I began seeing him about midway through my braces experience as I needed to have a veneer and an implant. Dr. Vidal was extremely caring, considerate, and honest throughout the entire process with me. He always walked me through every step, properly set my expectations, and always over delivered. Having a veneer procedure done can be a big step for someone, but having an implant put in place is definitely a different experience as there's many different steps that need to be taken into account. Dr. Vidal, in my eyes, was perfect on both. I'm forever grateful to the work that he's done as I'm now able to actually smile. I would recommend him to absolutely everyone.

Dr Vidal is an outstanding dentist. What I appreciate most of all, is his "bedside" manner. In addition his staff are excellent and the practice is very well run. I would highly recommend them.

Amazingly thankful to be a patient at Russell Hill Dental. The entire team is welcoming, knowledgeable, and thorough. They consistently check in to make sure I'm comfortable and that my needs are met. I've never had major dental issues due to being a patient here for 26+ years. I even flew back from California for semi-annual appointments after trying other dental offices while living out of town. HIGHLY recommend this team if you're looking for solid treatment, consistency, and kindness in your dental visits!

A superior and rapid result was achieved after part of my front tooth broke off last week. I called Russell Hill Dental and they made room for an emergency appt. Dr. Miguel Vidal did a "filling" to the front and bottom of my tooth -- essentially, he sculpted a new bottom part of the tooth out of polymer based materials, and set it solidly in place immediately, matching the veneer color, addressing every detail carefully to make sure the bite is seamless and the surface indistinguishable from the original tooth. My front top tooth looks and feels perfect. I had no idea such a repair was possible! I am elated and relieved! I have been going to Russell Hill dental for 15 years and they have always been great!

I wish I could give more than 5-star rating to this practice. My husband and I have been patients of Russell Hill Dental for 9 years and we both had very extensive restoration work completed by Dr. Vidal. We both have terrible teeth and have spent countless hours at numerous dental offices across 3 states. Dr. Vidal is without any doubt the best dentist we have ever had. When I first came to this practice I was absolutely desperate with my 2 upper front teeth destroyed by a different dental office's horrifying attempt to cover them in crowns. After intensive work to rebuild my almost missing (and most visible) teeth, the crowns Dr. Vidal and his partner technician made were absolutely perfect and indistinguishable from my natural teeth (down to every variation in transparency that teeth normally have) and feel great. I have 16 crowns but have never before experienced such an outstanding quality of work. Since then Dr. Vidal had replaced at least 7 old crowns that were troubling me and ALL look amazing and feel great. As a result of his work, my gums improved too. My husband had several crowns and 2 implants done and he too could not have been happier with the outcome. I want to point out that Dr. Vidal never suggests any work without it really being necessary (unlike all other dentists we have seen before) and rejected some of my prompts for replacements (as advised by prior doctors). Russell Hill Dental staff are very friendly, highly professional and accommodating. Every service here (e.g. routine cleaning) is done at higher level than what I was used to. What other offices charged us as "scaling" or "deep cleaning" here seems to be the norm for regular cleaning, which is fully covered by insurance. This office works with other excellent dentistry professionals and when we needed referrals for root canals or periodontics, all work done by partner doctors was great too. A few years ago my employer relocated out of state and while weighing the pros and cons of moving, one factor we strongly considered was losing access to Russell Hill Dental. We did not move and we definitely will stay as their patients as long as we live in MA. I just cannot recommend this practice enough and I am very grateful for the fantastic care we receive here!

Dr. Vidal and my periodontist worked together on my front tooth implant and I could not be happier! Because it was my front tooth, I was so nervous that my implant would be noticeable but you literally cannot tell the implant from my natural teeth. Both doctors worked perfectly in sync with each other to make sure everything went smoothly and according to plan. I can't say enough about how happy I am with the result. I can't stop smiling now - it exceeded my expectations!! Dr. Vidal is such a perfectionist. He always took the time to fully explain the process and answer questions.
