In 1970, Rural Health Corporation was established, becoming part of a national network of community health centers. Between 1971 and 1979, five family practice health centers, 3 of which continue to also provide dental care, were established in the rural communities of Wyoming and Luzerne Counties. A sixth practice site specializing in pediatrics was also established during this period and pharmacy services were made available to our patients. Rural Health Corporations last expansion was to the center of Wilkes-Barre wherein 1988 a special clinic was established to serve the areas homeless.

This place is a joke. They never answer the phone or get back to you. And when they occasionally answer, which is rare, they have the worst attitude ever. To make matters worse the doctors seem clueless. Probably got their degrees online.

I called the office this morning to talk to my physician assistant due to having gout extremely bad in my foot and ankle, I told the person who answered the phone at the office my issue and she stated my physician assistant was not in the office today but she would send an email to her but it may not be answered today it may not get answered until tomorrow or the next day, was told if I can't wait for a call back in that time frame to go to Urgent Care or the hospital ER what is the point of doctor's offices if you have to go somewhere else for care considering this is a clinic, I was unable to speak to a doctor to explain how bad the pain and swelling is in my foot and ankle And I would also like to add that Sharon who works at this office is very rude and a continuous liar and I am glad she is getting reprimanded by the office for her actions.

just don't go here. especially if you have a newborn. I took my daughter here 4 years ago for her one week check up. the male doctor who was working there at the time automatically assumed my daughter was born with Down's syndrome based off the way she looked. he made ignorant comments about her eyes being too slanted, her nose looking "flat" etc. he was just making rude assumptions. so I took my daughter elsewhere and news flash: she doesn't have Down's syndrome. he had no idea what he was talking about and I'll never bring her there again. thankfully she has an amazing pediatrician now.

Looking for a new Primary .This office works for the insurance company's. They also don't like to write needed scripts (even non narcotics). Will only act as if there allowed to. But there hands are tied.

The last time I was here, it took me a half hour to go back. But I sat in the back for 2 more hours. I had to open the open the door to my room and mistal didnt even know I was there. The visit lasted a total of 3 mins, and no help whatsoever.

Absolute worst place to deal with, what kind of doctors office won't answer the phone. There's like 5 of them in that office and no one answers I'm glad it's nothing important.

Make sure you take some reading material, it's a long wait. They're a horrible service they cant even keep up with medicine refills and they have a zero care factor for patients.

The Freeland Health Center appears that it's primary focus is on PROFITS & QUANTITY of patients, rather than QUALITY OF PATIENT CARE! Like most of the patients, I was happy when my doctor left there to go back to her own practice. That place is nothing without Dr. Deborah Mistal!!
