Our Doctors and Staff are well trained by staying up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry. We attend dental lectures, meetings, and dental conventions to stay informed of new techniques and the latest products. Also, being members of various professional dental associations helps us stay abreast of the changes and recommendations for our profession.

Patient safety and infection control are of the utmost importance to our office. We have dedicated staff to ensure we are meeting the standard set by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Dr. Paul W. Niemi is originally from Stillwater, MN, and pursued his undergraduate studies at Macalister College in St. Paul, MN. He then went on to Graduate from the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry in Minneapolis, MN.

Dr. Niemi started his dental career in Rugby in 1986, always providing excellent comprehensive and cosmetic dental care. In 1989 Dr. Niemi became co-owner and eventually owner of Rugby Dental, PC. In order to keep up to date on everything dentistry has to offer he maintains memberships with the American Dental Association and the North Dakota Dental Association.

Dr. Niemi resides in Rugby with his wife Holly and their two children, Sarah and Michael. He enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time tending to his lawn and gardens. He is also very active within the community. He is a member of the Rugby Lions, Rugby Eagles, and First Lutheran Church.

Dr. Kathy has been with Rugby Dental Office since 2007. In 1999 she received her undergrad degree from Jamestown College and went on to work as a dental assistant in Minneapolis, MN, for three years before attending Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI. She received her Doctorate of Dental Science in 2007.

Dr. Kathy is committed to providing excellent dental care and to stay on top of the cutting edge of dentistry. Thus, she maintains memberships with the American Dental Association and the North Dakota Dental Association. She also promotes the field of dentistry in our schools by speaking to students and working with those interested in job shadowing.

Dr. Kathy resides in Rugby with her husband Mike and their two beautiful girls, Marly and Avery. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family and doing outdoor activities. She is also very active within the Rugby community as a member of the local Jaycees chapter and with her church.

Erin has been a registered dental hygienist at Rugby Dental Office since graduating from NDSCS in 1996. She is originally from Rolla. Erin and her husband Dale currently reside in Rugby with their three children: Abby, Connor, and Parker. When not busy keeping your smile beautiful, she enjoys spending time together with her family.

Susan is no stranger to the Rugby Dental Office. She was employed by Dr. Wells and Dr. Niemi from the fall of 1991 to the spring of 1998. She has continued to be employed as a Registered Dental Hygienist in both private practice and public health settings since graduating from NDSSS in 1982. Susan and her husband, Mike, reside in Bottineau with their three children: Andrew, Therese, and Emma. In addition to keeping your smile bright, she enjoys attending her children's activities and family togetherness.

Dorothy has been with Rugby Dental since 1981 when she started as Dr. David Wells' assistant. She became a registered Dental Assistant in 1986. She has been a member of the ND Dental Assistants Association, NDDAA, since 1986 and served as the State Representative for several years. In 1998 the NDDAA awarded her the Outstanding Dental Assistant for that year. Dorothy and her husband Chuck reside in Rugby and have three grown children. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

Pam received her degree from NDSCS Wahpeton as a Registered Dental Assistant. In 1986 she completed her internship at Rugby Dental Office with Dr. David Wells and began working with Dr. Paul Niemi that same year. She has been a member of the ND Dental Assistants Association her entire career and received the ND Dental Assistant of the Year award in 2012. Pam has always said the best part of working at Rugby Dental Office are her great co-workers, but above all, her patients. When not in the office, Pam enjoys spending time with her family.

Deanna has been with Rugby Dental Office since 2009. She recently transitioned from the front desk to the position of office manager. Deanna can help answer any questions that you may have on treatment, scheduling, and payment/insurance. She and her husband Troy have twins, Harlie and Tucker, who keep them busy. In her spare time she enjoys camping with family and friends, hunting, and cheering on our favorite sports teams Go Panthers!

Lana has been with Rugby Dental Office since 1991. Her main duties focus on infection control and sterilization. She has one grown son He and his wife have blessed her with three beautiful granddaughters. In her spare time she enjoys reading and gardening when the ND weather allows.

Kristie joined the Rugby Dental Office in July of 2014. Her main focus is scheduling and correspondence She loves being able to interact with all the patients. Kristie and her husband Todd have four boys. They enjoy spending time together camping, hunting and fishing.
