Dr. Rude is a graduate of Kentwood High School and the University of Puget Sound, where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Biology. He always knew he wanted to be a healthcare provider and dentistry provided an opportunity for him to interact with people one on one, solve difficult problems, and work with his hands. After earning his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from Tufts Dental School in Boston, Dr. Joel Rude joined his fathers dental practice, eventually taking over after Dr. Danny Rude retired.
Dr. Rude is passionate about continuing education and new technologies that enhance the patient experience and improve outcomes. He regularly participates in a Synergy Training program with local surgeons, labs, dentists, and implant companies to improve the quality and longevity of dental implants.
Dr. Rude and his wife have two daughters and one son. Together, they enjoy the outdoors, including hiking, biking, backpacking, camping, fishing, and skiing. Dr. Rude also enjoys traveling, riding motorcycles, and paragliding in his time away from the practice.
Megan is a 2014 Dental Hygiene graduate from Columbia Basin College, after receiving her associates degree from Bellevue College. She works hard to personalize care for each of her patients to ensure lifelong oral health. She enjoys knowing that we provide an exceptional experience while developing long lasting relationships with all our patients. In her free time, youll find her spending time with her husband and their two young daughters, attending Seattle sporting events, baking, and enjoying time with friends and family.
Lindsey has worked in the dental field since 2011. She earned her degree in dental hygiene at Columbia Basin College in the Tri-Cities in 2015. She strives to provide exceptional individualized care for her patients while staying up to date with the latest technology and techniques.
Sara earned her Dental Assistant certification at Renton Technical College and has been assisting Dr. Rude for over eighteen years. In addition to her CDA, she completes several continuing education courses annually to add to her expertise.
When shes away from the office, Sara likes spending time with family, trying out local coffee shops, and enjoying outdoor activities. She especially likes camping, jet-skiing, sailing, going to the beach, and playing with her dogs. She is married with one grown son.
Kim graduated from Kent Meridian High School and has been assisting Dr. Rude chair-side for over sixteen years. When shes not helping improve the smiles of her Maple Valley neighbors, she loves being outdoors, especially camping.

Dr. Joel Rude is an excellent professional. He and his staff are very respectful of each patient and their need of treatment. It's important to them, as a staff, to see that each person is treated with gentleness, kindness and their need is addressed. They use the most advanced technology and training allowing them to give quality care to every patient. I, and my family, have been patients of this office for many years and i would highly recommend this office to anyone who desires an excellent dental experience.

Because of the most excellent services that Doctor Rude, Doctor Whitfield, and their outstanding team of professionals provide, we travel over an an hour each way to our appointments. We truly feel like we are visiting family since we have developed a wonderful relationship with Doctor Rude and most recently Doctor Whitfield and staff. The drill for the filling still hurt after having laughing gas.I wish the dentist had talked about possible tylonels if there is still pain or if the area that had the cavity filling is still sore after having some recovery time.

Friendly, kind, and accommodating: I took my elderly mother for a cleaning. In spite of her severe hearing loss, they were able to direct her successfully. Dr. Rude also counseled with me about whether she needed, at her age, more aggressive treatments for gum disease as well as what that would entail. There was absolutely no pressure, and we agreed on a wait and see approach. These are good people. Consider their practice.

Dr. Rude and staff are always thorough and very friendly. They are going the extra mile to keep everyone safe during this time of COVID. The few times that I have needed procedures, they took the time to make them the most comfortable and pain free dental procedures that I have ever had. Love Dr. Rude and his staff. We transferred our dental care from a larger clinic with multiple doctors and hygienists and we really enjoy the one on one care that is given here. The office is run very professionally yet with the neighborhood feel. Dr rude, himself has provided excellent dental care and his staff, from the front office and back, is top notch.
