Dr. Rajia Sebbahi became an orthodontist in Charles Town, WV and Martinsburg, WV, because it allows her to change lives by changing smiles. To put it in her own words, I love how a smile brightens a persons face.
Dr. Sebbahi earned her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University before she went on to receive her D.M.D. from the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then completed a general practice residency at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine and a three-year orthodontic residency at West Virginia University School of Dentistry.
As a former clinical faculty member of West Virginia University Dental School in the Department of Orthodontics, Dr. Sebbahi has remained at the forefront of orthodontic technology. She practices only sound, evidence-based techniques and is certified to apply leading technology, including Incognito braces, Invisalign, and self-ligating braces. She is a member of American Association of Orthodontists, West Virginia Association of Orthodontists, and Southern Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Sebbahi fell in love with the beautiful state of West Virginia. She moved to The Eastern Panhandle to practice as a specialist in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. She resides in Martinsburg with her husband, Hani, and their beautiful children, Layla and Laith.

At RS Orthodontics, we can never make your treatment decisions for you. We will make our recommendations, and then it is up to you to decide whether to proceed with treatment or not. That being said, putting off orthodontic treatment especially early evaluation treatment can lead to greater complications later in life. In some cases, it can even lead to orthodontic problems that are no longer fixable. During your complimentary RS Ortho Smile Assessment, Dr. Sebbahi can discuss with you the pros and cons of waiting in your or your loved ones individual case and will be able to explain the possible risks that delayed treatment may pose. Then you will be able to make an informed decision about how to proceed.
It is quite rare for a child to encounter teasing due to his or her braces. Braces are incredibly common these days, and many children view them as a rite of passage and even enjoy showing them off with brightly colored rubber bands.
You may feel some tenderness in your teeth and gums while you initially adjust to your new braces. However, you should not feel any pain, and you can take an over-the-counter analgesic (such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen) to alleviate any discomfort. If your braces bother your gums, you can also ask us for some special wax to cover the brackets.
The total time you wear braces will depend on your unique smile. Typically, braces are worn between 6 months and 30 months. You can have some control over how long your wear braces by being careful to follow all of Dr. Sebbahis instructions, such as avoiding foods that can damage brackets, brushing and flossing carefully, wearing a mouthguard during sports, and coming in for regular checkups.
