Dr. Thompsongraduated from the University of Tennessees College of Dentistry in Memphis in 1978. Since that time he has practiced general dentistry as a Murfreesboro TN dentist. Over time he has developed a reputation for the comprehensive level of care given to patients and quite often is called on to help patients needing major or complex restoration on their mouth. This level of care has continued with Dr. Thompson being trained to administer Invisalign, place & restore implants, and offer sedation services to his patients.
Through the years Dr. Thompson has been extremely active in community affairs and in his dental association. He has been past President of the Murfreesboro Kiwanis Club and the United Way of Rutherford County. He has remained involved with the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Middle Tennessee State University over the thirty years hes lived in Murfreesboro. Dr. Thompson has served as President of the Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry and the Tennessee Dental Association and is currently a Trustee on the Board of the American Dental Association representing the states of KY, WV, MO and TN. He has helped obtain funding for the Interfaith Dental Clinic in Rutherford County which opened in February 2012 and provides comprehensive dental care for low income working adults.
He is a member of the Murfreesboro Rotary Club and is a volunteer dentist for the Dental Lifeline Network. Roy and Margrey, his wife of forty years, have three children. They attend North Boulevard Church of Christ where he has served as Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee and a Sunday school class leader.
Dr. Starbody is a native of Maroa, Illinois where her family resided for many years. Her dental journey began when she attended Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana and received a Bachelors in Health Sciences. She graduated in 2014 with high distinction. Dr. Starbody continued her education and graduated cum laude from Southern Illinois Universitys School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL in 2018. At Southern Illinois University she was recognized for achievement and clinical skills in Removable Prosthodontics. While at SIU, Dr. Starbody traveled to Jamaica where she provided dental care for the underserved patients along with her colleagues on a mission trip.
Dr. Starbodys professional goal is to provide dentistry in an environment where the patients feel like a part of the family and are comfortable in the dental environment. Dr. Starbody and her husband, Michael, have been residents of Murfreesboro, TN since 2018. Prior to their marriage they visited Murfreesboro and knew this town would be their ultimate home. Both Drs. Starbody have practiced with Aspen Dental in Middle Tennessee since their arrival in 2018. Dr. Starbody is a member of the American Dental Association and the Tennessee Dental Association and looks forward to actively participating in organized dentistry.
Dr. Michael Starbody grew up in the small town of Litchfield, IL. He knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in dentistry after several years of surgical, dental, and orthodontic treatment. Dr. Starbody attended college at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he earned a degree in biological sciences and a minor in chemistry. He graduated college with Cum Laude honors in 2013 and went on to attend dental school at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Alton, IL.
During his tenure in dental school, he participated as a fellow in the Deans Summer Research program and volunteered as a part of the schools annual mission trip to Jamaica where he was able to provide much needed care to underserved communities. It was on the second trip where he began his relationship with his now wife, Kaitlyn, who is also a dentist.
Dr. Starbody graduated dental school in 2017 and practiced dentistry with Aspen Dental for four years. In 2018, both Drs Starbody moved to Murfreesboro after previously visiting Middle Tennessee and falling in love with the area. Upon arrival to Tennessee, Dr. Starbody became a member of the American Dental Association and Tennessee Dental Association.
His professional goal is to provide excellent quality of care in an environment that is comfortable and fun where patients can feel as if they are part of the family. In his free time, he likes to exercise and spend time relaxing with his wife, daughter, and dog. He is an avid baseball fan and also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking.
