Smiles for Kids Dentistry, Orthodontics & Oral Sugery has pediatric dental specialists on staff overseeing our dental operations. Pediatric dentists are childrens dentists who elect to take an extra two years of schooling to specialize in pediatric dentistry. Our childrens dentists work with children aged nine months to 18 years, and with special needs patients up to 26 years. No matter how minor or serious your childs needs are, we have the knowledge and technology upon which you can rely.
Kelly Wells, DDS is a native New Mexican who grew up in the Santa Fe/Albuquerque area. After graduating summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of New Mexico, Dr. Wells attended dental school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she earned her DDS. Upon graduating from dental school, she returned home to Albuquerque to be close to family, friends, and the beautiful Sandia mountains. She is very excited to be a part of the Route 66 team where she continues to enjoy providing dental care for children of all ages. Dr. Wells is an active member of several national and local dental associations and serves as an Albuquerque District Representative in the New Mexico Dental Association House of Delegates. When she is not working, Dr. Wells spends most of her time with her family and friends. She has a passion for cooking, gardening, and spending time outdoors in the foothills hiking, running, and enjoying the friendly and beautiful environment that New Mexico provides.
Brendon Prestwich, DDS is a native New Mexican, having been born and raised in Albuquerque he completed high school at Eldorado. After graduating, he attended Brigham Young University, Idaho where he acquired a bachelors degree in biology. He then attained his graduate degree at Ohio State University where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS). Dr. Prestwich lived and practiced the beginning of his career in Charleston, South Carolina. He then returned home to Albuquerque in 2013 where he has been continuing to practice dentistry. Dr. Prestwich enjoys spending time with his wife Danelle and their five children. He likes tinkering with projects around his house!
Jennifer Lapsker, DDS was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. She graduated with a degree in Integrative Biology in 2005 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following in her father's footsteps, she decided to pursue dentistry and earned her D.D.S. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry. It is here that she met her husband, Jonathan. Dr. Lapsker worked with her father before making the move to Albuquerque and has been providing care to the great state of New Mexico since 2010. In her spare time, Dr. Lapsker likes to learn about different cultures, cook, do crafts, and spend time with her Toy Poodle, Abbey

I saw the review on Google and based my judgment on my decision to take my 19th month old to his first dentist appointment. Staff was patient and very friendly to both my son and I. Very caring and professional individuals with the right mindset and knowledge in dealing with children's dental care. Highly recommend it.

Great new location next to great places to eat. Receptionists were very nice at check-in. Parking lot is small but not a problem finding a spot for the business.

Quick, efficient, & doesn't cost an arm & a leg for treatments. I can only hope the experience where we move next is like this location. Amazing staff!!

We had the best experience here. My 6 year old needed 2 teeth pulled and it was so painless that she thanked the Dentist after her appointment. The dental assistant was also fantastic, explaining cleaning to my 4 year old as she cleaned her teeth. Everyone was friendly and the place is spotless.

Always in & out quick here. They see all 4 of our kids. Update. 6/23/21. Absolutely love the new location! Like i said, they've taken care of all 4 of our children. 3 of them since birth. They have some of the best hygienists in the 505. The dentist here is AMAZING!!!

If you value consent- you won't take your child here. My 9 year old daughter and I just left here after having the absolute worst experience. The dentist was rude and cold. Continually telling my daughter "you're fine." In a rude tone and basically yelling at her. I had enough and asked her to stop after finishing the bottom tooth. The top tooth needed to be pulled and I told them I would take her to the other office and do it at another time. She then pulled her tooth anyway even though I told her not to. She said she was going to push on it (to my daughter) so I thought she was just checking to make sure it was ok to leave and then suddenly she's pulling it out, despite me asking her not to. My daughter and I both left upset. I called the Smiles for Kids Eubank office and they were able to take care of it and get her in right away and put a note in her file that she will not see that dentist ever again.

I have been bringing my kids to route 66 denistry for 8 years. This group is friendly, professional. They truly care about my families dental health. The girls up front are very helpful from helping you make appointments that work for you, to rescheduling an appointment that you cant make. The girls in the back are friendly, and courteous.....the Dentist is knowledgeable, and very patient with my children....we love Route 66.
