Most people seeking orthodontic treatment have one or two main goals in mind- straight teeth and perhaps a comfortable bite. This has been the goal of orthodontists for many years. Dr. Roth and Frankel Team creates a broad smile by employing several techniques. If the treatment involves braces, Dr. Roth and Frankel Team uses the Damon system, which utilizes self-ligating braces and high tech titanium archwires to apply light, biologically appropriate pressure to the teeth. The result is generally a wider dental arch. If treatment is done with Invisalign, Dr. Roth and Frankel Team programs extra expansion into the digital treatment plan.
Besides the obvious esthetic improvement of a broad smile, there are several other advantages as well. Creating space by expanding the smile means that extraction of teeth is rarely needed. In addition, and perhaps most importantly, the widen arch creates more room for the tongue and can improve the upper airway, thereby reducing the risk of developing obstructive sleep apnea.
Traditional orthodontic treatment usually involves placing the bracket in the center, or sometimes even close to the edge of the tooth. While this works well for aligning the teeth, it often has the negative side effect of flattening the smile arc. With the innovative Smile Arc Protection technique, orthodontic brackets are placed on the teeth closer to the gum line in order to create a more esthetic, appealing result by extruding the anterior teeth. By positioning the brackets this way, patients can receive a broader smile with increased teeth visibility rather than a flattened, traditional smile. The bite plays a significant role in determining the final position of the front teeth as well.

Dr. Roth graduated with high honors from UCLA School of Dentistry where he later served on the Faculty for the Department of Orthodontics. In addition to earning his DDS, he also holds two Masters degrees and has authored several published studies.
Dr. Roth is an avid photographer and a fledgling glass artist. He is extremely involved in developing educational opportunities for underserved children. He helped build the River Oaks Academy, a Ventura County charter school, where he served as president for several years. He and his wife Lisa-Ann traveled to Uganda two years ago where they visited the village of Mubaku. They discovered that the nearest school was over an hour and a half away and that many children simply didnt attend school. Shortly after returning to California, they formed the Mubaku Education Foundation and have completed a four room school in the village. The nursery school is currently under construction. A part of the proceeds from Roth Orthodontics goes to support the school.
Dr. Frankel is a double board certified Pediatric Dentist and Orthodontist. He practices using the most current guidelines of both the Boards of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, and is committed to the highest standards of patient care.
Dr. Frankel is married with four kids. In addition to being an involved parent, he is an avid outdoorsman. Never missing a year to hike, camp, and river raft with the entire family in Yosemite national park, he feels that California is the outdoor enthusiasts playground. Skiing in the winter, beach in the summer, and cycling all other times, Dr. Frankel feels that living every day to its fullest is one of lifes responsibilities. He is also a second tenor in a nationally renowned choir, and a fairly good chef too.

I've been coming here for probably 10 or so years now to get my teeth sorted, they've always been great and my teeth today are definitely quite a lot better than where they started

My son has done a underbite correction with Dr. Frankly. It has worked magic and now it's looking great. Now my youngest daughter age 7 will start treatment for her underbite and we are confident it will be as smooth as it is with my son. We also love the staff working here. They are super kind and helpful. This facility is Perfect in all aspects!

Dr. Frankel and the team are amazing!! They know what they're doing and make the process as easy as possible. I had a very complicated case starting in 2019 with a severe overbite and gaps everywhere. I also got into a car accident in 2020 which made my case so much worse, almost knocking my two front teeth out (which would have fallen out if it wasn't for the braces). Fast forward to October 2022, I have a perfect smile! You'd never guess I had teeth as bad as it was 3 years ago. I got to know all of the team and they made me feel like family in their office. I highly recommend their work. :)

I highly recommend Dr. Frankel and his team. My child requires very unique and complicated care and from our first visit with Dr. Frankel throughout our years of seeing him and his expert staff, we have received what I consider the very best in orthodontic care. We couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Frankel has great attention to detail and an outstanding "bedside manner." He's very thorough and when we were faced with serious issues, Dr. Frankel drew upon his vast knowledge and expertise and displayed a calming, reassuring attitude. His entire staff, whom we have come to know well, show equal professionalism, courteousness; and they, too, go above and beyond. I could not be happier with the professionalism I received from Dr. Frankel and his office staff. My time is precious. I was seen on time, taken to a chair and seen rapidly. I did not feel rushed, I was given time to explain why I was there and we discussed options. While I proceeded to have a new retainer made, I was listening to the banter that went on with Dr. Frankel and his other clients. I saw he was as professional with them as well. He is also very, very funny, can relate to children and adults. I highly recommend Dr. Frankel and his office staff.

Doctors Roth and Frankel did an amazing job straightening my teeth with Invisalign. I was unsure if Invisalign would work for me because there was quite a bit to correct, but my teeth are perfect now and I am so happy. They worked so hard to coordinate around my tight schedule since I live abroad and wasn't able to have frequent appointments.
