Dr. Karen Besler received her dental degree from theUniversity of Iowa College of Dentistryin 2000.After graduating, she participated in the general practice residency program at the University of Iowa.This provided her an opportunity to serve a wide variety of patients, both at theUniversity of Iowa Hospitals and Clinicsand theVA Medical Centerin Iowa City.
Dr. Besler is also active within the community. She plans to use her vacation time to support overseas dental and medical mission projects throughout the world.She and her husband Jason discovered that their most meaningful role in life is here at home as parents to their young daughter Chloe.
Dental Hygienist / Invisalign Coordinator Hi, Im Jerri. My main roles in the office are to provide our patients with gum disease treatment, routine cleaning, and placing sealants for children. I have worked as a hygienist since 1991 and have been happily working with our dental team since 2001. I feel very satisfied to know that I am helping to improve our patients smiles and their health by providing high quality dental care. I am a native of Iowa and have lived in Marion since 1996. When Im not in the office I enjoy reading, playing cards and darts, and hanging out with my kids.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, Iowa football, watching movies, and kayaking. I look forward to working with you and your family.
Certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant/Office Assistant Hi, my name is Rochelle, I graduated from Kirkwoods ADAA Certified Dental Assisting program, and also have an Associates degree in Applied Science. I am bilingual in Spanish and have been for seven years. I am very passionate about dental assisting and even more passionate about the people with whom I get to work with. My goal is to greet every patient with a warm and comforting smile, and ensure that their visit to our office will brighten their day! I am extremely fun-loving and can always use a good laugh. When Im not chairside you may see me helping at the front desk. I look forward to meeting all of our patients.

Here at Dental Associates of Cedar Rapids, we have advanced training in restorative dental treatments like crowns, bridges, dental restorations, endodontics (root canals), and dental implants. We also enjoy treatments such as veneers, cosmetic teeth whitening, cosmetic crowns, bonding, and Invisalign. Creating beautiful smiles is a top priority!

Most treatments offered at our Cedar Rapids dental office, with the exclusion of strictly cosmetic, are partially covered by dental insurance plans. Dental insurance plan coverage varies. As a courtesy to our patients, our wonderful office staff will help every patient optimize their insurance coverage. For those treatments not covered, we offer CareCredit patient financing. CareCredit offers no interest if paid in full within six, 12, 18, or 24 months.
We have incorporated a Global dental microscope into our practice. It is a good companion for early diagnosis and minimally invasive procedures. We also use a DentalVibe, which is a way to make giving dental injections more comfortable. We use state-of-the-art dental equipment and the highest resolution digital x-ray system. We also used the most advanced restorative materials and the highest quality sterilization techniques.
Invisalign is a great way to straighten teeth without wires. It begins with a 3D image of the mouth to create customized clear aligners that simply snap on the teeth. The aligners are changed every two weeks and are designed to make sequential movements over time. Invisalign is great for adults who want to avoid the unease and difficulty of traditional braces.
We have an excellent, experienced staff. We pride ourselves in building trust and long term relationships. Helping our patients to understand their dental treatment and incorporating their goals is very important to us. Patient comfort is a top priority. We offer pillows, blankets, and noise-cancelling headphones for patient relaxation. We strive to make your dental experience the best possible!
Dr. Besler completed a general practice residency following dental school at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the VA Hospital in Iowa City. She is proud to have partnered with Spanda, Inc. and led fundraising efforts in 2010 that resulted in raising funds to equip one dental treatment room in a clinic in Kipkaren, Kenya that serves up to 32,000 villagers.
