Dr. Kaplan graduated fromClark University, and was rewarded with DMD degree in 1991 by Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He obtained his supplementary experience during his fellowship at the Yale University Dental Residency Program, in New Haven, CT. He has been practicing in Hamden since 1992. Dr. Kaplan is a member of many professional associations such as The American Dental Association, TheConnecticut Dental Association, The New Haven Dental Association, and TheAcademy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Kaplan lives in Orange with his wife, Judy. He has participated in many charitable events, including several years at theMission of Mercy free dentistry event, held in CT yearly. Dr. Kaplan is an avid golfer, enjoys long bike rides, participating in several fund raising bicycle events, and is a certified SCUBA diver.
We are very pleased to have Janet Conklin join our dental team. Janet comes to us with an impressive 30 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist, having graduated from Fones University, in 1985. With her many years as a hygienist, she has seen it all, and adds great enthusiasm to our team.
Shaneque joins our office with over 10 years of hands-on experience. She graduated from University of Bridgeport FONES Dental Hygiene program, with high honors. Shaneque has a great way with our patients and a great sense of humor.
Denise has been with us since 1999, handling all of out insurance processing. She is knowledgeable and an expert with any insurance problems, and takes care of all your submissions that are to be submitted to your insurance company. Knitting and trips to her Cape Cod vacation home keep Denise busy.
Chris joined our office in 2018, after graduating from Philadelphia University with a B.A. degree. Chris is our computer whiz, helping us as we continually strive for the most State-of the- Art dental office.

I was referred to Dr. Kaplan by my sister who had extensive dental work done by him and was very satisfied. I am 71 years old with multiple health issues .I am in a wheelchair and have serious neck problems which previously caused problems getting dental work . Dr. Kaplan and his team were able to do very extensive work (multiple tooth extractions, a nine tooth bridge and all the prep work involved ) without any negative effect on my neck. Patient safety first ! My experience with Dr. Kaplan and his team was totally professional from the front desk to the finished work. All of the work was done with incredible efficiency. Dr. Kaplan is a highly skilled dentist who uses modern technology throughout his whole operation and employees a top-notch dental hygienist, dental assistant and office personnel. All this taken together produced an outstanding outcome for me. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the work the quality of the care and I know that the price was very fair. Dr. Kaplan and his team represent to me the highest quality and best value in dental care I have ever received. I can without reservation recommend them.

My first experience with Dr. Kaplan, and staff, did not go well at all (in short, my wife and I were treated unprofessionally). I returned for another visit only because I was promised complementary service (free teeth whitening). To make matters worse, when I returned for my complementary service, the doctor had retracted the offer (without my knowledge) and they attempted to charge me for it. There is no need to risk your dental health, or money, on an unscrupulous dentist, there are plenty others in the area.

My first visit was very welcoming. No pressure, but I did arrive 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Upon completing paperwork, I was guided to a room for my cleaning, and following the Doctor gave me the status of the health of my teeth. I was satisfied with my visit.

I visited Dr. Kaplan years ago (I was about 9 years old, I'm in my 30s now) and he performed dental work on me without using a local anesthetic. I was told to raise my hand when the pain was too bear. He traumatized me...I'll never forget that Star of David charm. After communicating this to him he sent this prefabricated message filled with lies and this gave me no peace of mind. He blamed it on his father, who even back then was an older man. Not a 20 something year old I vividly remember. After continuing to try to contact him, he called the cops on me and I was told not to contact him anymore. I would've let it go but I'm still receiving flyers in the mail from his practice. Point of the review, DO NOT allow your children to be in the room with him alone especially if you are a person of color. According to my research (looking through reviews on various sites) he usually seems to perform poorly on Non-White people. Stay safe, people.

My second time at the office and staff as well as Dr. Kaplan continue to be very professional, efficient, and helpful. Shaneque was my hygienist and she was very thorough and personable. I had a very good experience. 08/2021: Had major work done recently and it was much less painful than I thought it would be ... Dr Ross is knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant. All visits went smoothly. Am very happy with the results.

Shaneque is the best hygienist out there. She really takes the time to make sure you're comfortable and does an excellent job and taking away the anxiety of being at the dentist. Dr. Kaplan has been my dentist for years and will always come back!
