A brief self-introduction Born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, I attended public schools and did my undergraduate work at the City College of NY. I then went to the University of Pennsylvania dental school, where I earned a Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree, and then had postgraduate work as an intern at Engelwood Hospital in Engelwood, NJ.
In 1973 I married the artist and jewelry craftsman Pamela Mailman, whom, I'm grieved to say, I lost to cancer in April 2010. Our son, Julian, born in 1993, may be familiar to local theater-goers from his appearances in dramatic productions at Snug Harbor and elsewhere. Following in his mother's footsteps, he's headed for a career as an artist too.
