Dr. Roncone was born in Rochester, NY. He received Bachelor degrees in Biology and History from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He entered Dental School at the same University obtaining a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree while simultaneously enrolled in the School of Medicine pursing the study of muscle physiology and neuronanatomy. He was the recipient of three NIDR fellowships. Dr. Roncone did his Orthodontic Residency at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the Forsyth Dental Center in Boston Massachusetts and received two certificates in Orthodontics. He received numerous awards for scholarship and leadership during this time, including OKU, the National Dental Honorary Society and Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit University equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa. He taught at Harvard and the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
Dr. Roncone began his private practice of Orthodontics in 1974. He has been an innovator in orthodontics, holds several patents, has authored 17 manuals on every subject in orthodontics and has lectured more than 1,000 times, covering all 50 states and 52 countries. He remains one of the most sought after speakers in the orthodontic profession.
He retains memberships on the San Diego Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontics, the San Diego Academy of Orthodontists, and was founder of the San Diego Academy of Occlusion. He was also on the Board of Directors of the SDCDG and the PCSO, and the Vista Boys Club. His community involvement includes past president of the Vista Chamber of Commerce, the Vista Rotary Club, Vista-Fallbrook Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Roncone enjoys playing golf, traveling, reading historical books, lying on the beach and spending time with his family and friends. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have eight children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Shirley has 40 years of experience in orthodontics working as a Chairside Assistant, X-Ray Technician, and Laboratory Technician. She has been with Dr. Roncone since 1976. She is ourLaboratory Supervisor.
Elizabeth is ourPatient ConsultantandFinancial Coordinator. She has been with Dr. Roncone since 1995. Before joining our team, she had over 20 years of experience in various aspects of banking. She also assists Dr. Roncone in his consulting firm.
Holly is a graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design. She has been working with Dr. Roncone since 2007 and brings her design skills and experience to the practice as well as Roncone Orthodontics International, Dr. Roncone's orthodontic consulting firm.
Tyras education and background is in Criminal Justice, with over twelve years of experience in business management. She now works for the practice as well as Roncone Orthodontics International, an orthodontic consulting firm of which Dr. Roncone is the CEO. She has been working with Dr. Roncone and our team since 2015.
Leslie started her experience in the dental field in 2011 when she graduated from a California Dental School. Previously she worked for a dentist and now is part our team here at Roncone Orthodontics. She is a Chairside Assistant, as well as a Laboratory Technician and Diagnostic Records Technician. She has been working with Dr. Roncone and our team since 2018.
Hillary has been working in the medical field for over ten years before joining our team at Roncone Orthodontics. She is our Diagnostic Records Technician as well as our Laboratory Technician. She has been working with Dr. Roncone and our team since 2018.

I was his patient when I had braces done at age 12 (20 years ago)! But I just wanted to write this review because every dentist I've seen over the years, they always compliment on my teeth. So I'd like to thank Dr. Roncone for his orthodontic treatment and care in order for me to have a smile to be proud of!

Dr. Roncone is the best! He is extremely knowledgeable and really cares about his patients. The entire staff is so kind and professional. I had all of my orthodontic work done by him growing up and now at 22, he is treating my TMJ. Very thankful for Dr. Roncone and his team!

I'm convinced that Dr. Roncone is THE best orthodontist in Southern California. His practice has been around forever. In fact, I was a patient of his twenty years ago and I still come back to his office when I'm back in California visiting family (to have new retainers made). All those years ago, he was one of the first to pioneer clear retainers that keep every tooth in its place and help people like me who grind their teeth. I still get compliments on my straight teeth and natural smile all these years later, which is a testament to his incredible work. He is a perfectionist, and you won't meet a kinder, more knowledgeable orthodontist. He's the best!

Love Dr. Roncone! I've been coming to him since I was a child, and he's always been so kind and caring. You can tell that he really cares about his patients, and he takes the time to get to know you. At Roncone Orthodontics, you're more than just another patient. He's also AMAZING at what he does. My dentist actually commented on how my teeth and said I must have one of the best orthodontists in the world. Plus, his staff is super helpful and sweet! Can't recommend this place enough!

They truly care about their patients well being; while enhancing your beautifull smile with straight white teeth.. I can't wait to see my final result, knowing I had both sides of my jaw dislocated. Dr Roncone understood my pain level and offered ultrasound 2x a week to ease the pain and help unlock my jaw. Dr Roncone Orthodontics Office goes above and beyond. They are the best!
