Our team would love to welcome you too!

I am passionate about delivering the highest quality dental care in a relaxed and comfortable environment. It is essential that I develop a connection and establish trust with each patient who comes to me for dental care so that they know that not only do I care about them as a patient, but as an individual.

For me, the relationships that I am able to develop with each person I see, our conversations and how we learn from each other, is rewarding. Each day offers me new opportunities to spend time with incredible people, each with their own interests, stories, and experiences, and I come to work excited about the exchanges I am going to have that day.

I believe in providing individualized patient care. While patients may have similar oral health needs, each patient is unique and requires keen attention to their specific clinical situation and treatment desires, in order to provide the best care.

I work with my patients to decide which treatment path is right for them. We discuss the various options and how they work, and I encourage each patient to be actively involved in determining what will happen to restore their oral health and smile. By empowering my patients, I help them to be vested participants in their oral healthcare and involved in their overall well-being, which leads to a better, happier life.

I attended Georgetown University, in Washington D.C., for my undergraduate degrees in psychology and biology before moving on to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Medicine. During my dental training I also completed an externship at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. This was followed by a general practice residency at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ to round out my formal education.

I strongly believe that I need to stay abreast of all advances in dental technology and current concepts of evidence-based medicine in order to provide my patients with the highest standards of care. By actively participating in continuing education courses, meetings, and lectures on oral healthcare, I am confident that I am able to employ the latest, proven, and most effective techniques to practice state-of-the-art dentistry. I have completed advanced training in implant prosthetics and advanced comprehensive patient care, and Im a founding member of the Millennium Dental Study Club.

A native of Rumson, NJ, I now live in Cleveland Park, Washington D.C. with my wife Cindy and our dogKeely. I enjoy playing the guitar and attending Georgetown Hoyasbasketball games. I also like to stay active, and cycling and swimming are two of my favorite activities. My community involvement is currently focused on the Hortons Kids program to enrich the health and education of children.

Dr. Ronan Freyne and his team do everything they can to improve your quality of life and your oral health. To do this, its essential that you take the time to schedule visits every six months to his office to get your mouth thoroughly examined and cleaned. It can truly mean the difference between having a healthy smile for life and losing teeth from preventable disease!

Dental exams typically consist of two main procedures: dental X-rays and examinations. X-rays are usually only done once a year and allow Dr. Freyne to see whats happening underneath your gum tissue. Since the bone and tooth structure is largely invisible to the naked eye, having these performed regularly is crucial to catching problems that may not show any symptoms. Thanks to digital X-ray technology, we can even reduce your radiation exposure up to 90 percent compared to traditional methods!

Once your dentist has examined your X-rays, youll discuss any issues youve been having, such as tooth sensitivity or discomfort of any kind. Afterwards, hell take a closer look inside your mouth and confirm if any tartar, decay or gum disease is present.

Furthermore, dentists are increasingly emphasizing the connection oral health carries to overall health. As a result, Dr. Freyne stays on the lookout for early signs of serious or systemic disease, including oral cancer, untreated diabetes, teeth grinding and cardiovascular disease to name a few.

Even with an exceptional at-home routine, you cant remove all plaque and tartar on your own. For example, if your dentist or hygienist finds tartar, theyll make sure to eliminate it during your cleaning before it has a chance to cause a cavity. If the early signs of gum disease are apparent, you can also take advantage of periodontal treatments and antibiotic therapy that works to break down infections.

Preventive dental exams and cleanings are essential at every age. When it comes to oral health it doesnt matter if youre 8 years old or 88 years old. Each stage of life comes with its own unique problems to have addressed by a dental professional.

For example, young children need X-rays to ensure their teeth are erupting properly. The sooner their parents know that theyll need orthodontic intervention, the easier it will be to treat these problems. Furthermore, senior patients need to be more prepared to handle gum disease and gum recession because it more commonly affects patients in this group.

I broke my tooth on my way to D.C. and from my first contact with Dr. Freyne's office, they made me feel right at home. The price for an ER appointment was such a great value. They were patient, kind, caring, and made sure I understood exactly what he thought we should do and gave me options. Cindy at the front desk was AMAZING and so helpful! If I lived here, I would go back in a heartbeat.

Dr. Freyne and his staff are exceptional. He and his team are some of the friendliest and most compassionate people I've experienced in a dentist office. Although they're not the closest to my home, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my dental care in DC and they are well worth the longer commute.

I wish they had MORE stars to give! I have been going to South America to get my dental work done for many years. My implant chipped off and I needed some dental work done and traveling to South America is not part of my plan. I had to look for a very good dentist in the DMV area that can take care of my dental needs. Well, I found the BEST! I would highly recommend Dr. RONAN FREYNE and his staff for many reasons. They are so friendly and the office is welcoming. The facility is clean, organized and efficient. That was just the start. Cindy was amazing. She was so professional and fantastic at her job. I had a consult with Dr Freyne and I addressed all my dental concerns with him. He made me so comfortable and at ease from the beginning. I'm very particular with my teeth but with Dr. Freyne being a perfectionist himself I don't have to say no more. I do highly recommend him. He did my crown and implant restoration (and my case is quite complicated I may say) but he patiently made the process a breeze. Me and my wife have been a 5 year long patient now and had several procedures done, all painlessly and perfectly. You can't go wrong with this dental office. I am so happy and so relieved that I am a patient of Dr. Freyne. We felt like family and couldn't have been more impressed with the quality of care and personal concern of Dr. Freyne, Cindy and his dental staff. Thank you!

Dr. Freyne and his professional, friendly, and GENTLE team have cared for me and my whole family (husband, two kids) for years. They've always gone the extra mile to help us, never recommend unnecessary procedures, and take time to make sure everyone understands everything and feels as comfortable as possible. We don't dread our visits at all; in fact, it is always a pleasure to see everyone!

Excellent dental office! Dr. Freyne is attentive, diligent and gives great advice in a non-judgemental way. I have been several times and Rosanna has been my Dental Hygienist each time and she does a great job! Cindy who runs the office and does the billing is a delight to work with and is always articulate in explaining the billing process, insurance coverage, etc. Highly recommend!

Dr. Freyne and his team have provided friendly, efficient, competent and near-painless dental services to me and my family during the nearly 10 years we have come to his office. Our needs have included routine cleanings as well as more serious issues such as gum disease management and a time-pressured root canal diagnosis and follow-up. Regardless of the situation, we invariably have received prompt, caring and professional help at this dental office.
