Dr. Shaffer is a board certified pediatric dentist. He earned his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from UCLA. He then obtained a Master of Science degree in Oral and Craniofacial Biology from UCSF while concurrently completing advanced specialty training in pediatric dentistry at UCSF and at Children's Hospital Oakland.

Dr. Shaffer continues to stay involved in academia and is a former assistant clinical professor at UCSF in the department of pediatric dentistry. He has lectured on topics ranging from oral sedation safety protocols to emerging non-invasive ways of treating dental caries ('cavities'). He additionally spends time treating underserved patients abroad, and has traveled to both Honduras and Fiji for dental outreach trips. He regularly takes continuing education courses on all phases of dentistry, as well as in pediatric dentistry consistent with keeping his status as a board certified pediatric dentist.

Born and raised in Alameda, California, Dr. Shaffer is proud to call the Bay Area his home. He enjoys running, cycling, snowboarding, and rooting for the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco Giants. He also enjoys going to the beach and spending time with his wife, two children, and dog, Buster.

Dr. Sana Yousaf grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Yousaf completed her general practice dental residency at NewYork- Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and her pediatric dental residency at Staten Island University Hospital where she served as the Chief Resident. Dr. Yousaf spent two years in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, in between her residency programs and was excited to move back to the Bay Area to join Kids Care.

Dr. Lacey received her bachelor's degree in exercise science with a minor in chemistry from Brigham Young UniversityIdaho. She then received her doctorate in dental surgery from the University of the Pacific, in San Francisco. After graduating dental school, she completed her residency in pediatric dentistry at Boston University.

Dr. Laceys love for children and passion for pediatric dentistry has taken her all around the world to places like Singapore, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Australia on-board the US Navy Humanitarian ship, The Mercy. She then moved to China where she taught English to elementary and middle school aged children.

Dr. Laceys knowledge and down-to-earth personality makes for a fun and interactive approach for treating and teaching children. She finds ways to engage children to want to choose to be responsible and proactive for their health. You can meet Dr. Lacey at our Fairfield location.

A warm smile is the universal language of kindness. At Rolling Hills Pediatric Dentistry, our smiles are just the first thing youll notice that makes our office a step above the rest. Our mission is to make visits to the dentist as positive as possible!

We offer alternative restorative techniques that enableour doctors to be extremely conservative in their diagnoses, as well as their treatment of cavities. We are not just treating the teeth, we are treating the little person attached to those teeth and their emotional well being. We always take a non-invasive approach that includes monitoring small lesions, increasing visits to perform fluoride treatments, and iftreatment is necessary, performing it in a way that does not risk causing your child pain.

Our kid-friendly office has various activities for all age groups. We have an open-bay concept, which allows patients to be surrounded by children or teenagers their own age; however, we also have private rooms for patients and families who prefer to be in a more secluded and quiet environment.

Many kids fear the unknown. We understand this, which is why we take our time to make the unfamiliar into something familiar and less scary. We talk with each patient before every procedure to explain what were going to do, why were going to do it, and whats going to happen. We allow them to see, feel and hear our instruments. We make sure each childis at ease with our office environment and we proceedat a comfortable pace.We do not 'hold' kids down ordo anything by force. We go at their pace and earn their trust. We are children advocates and do not play an authoritarian role. This way they keep willingly coming back and we earn their trust. We are happy when they are happy!

Drs. Shaffer, Yousaf and Andrews, along with our team, love getting to know our patients. We spend time visiting with them, learning about their interests, and encouraging them to talk with us. Since wetake the time tocreateand fostertrust, children learn were good people who are here to help.

We went to this dentist because they came highly recommended. In the beginning service was good. But after the pandemic they never pick up the phone. Their billing service is horrible and the billing reps don't know how to properly answer billing questions. Received bill for a false service date and their billing headquarters doesn't know what it was for. Although this is mainly a bad review for their billing services, the fact that the owners/dentist are not taking note of these faults puts in question the integrity of their clinical services. I no longer trust this stablishment due to their lack of transparency with their billing as well as their poor customer service.

We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Garcia, but as soon as she left the service went down significantly. In particular we had so many issues with the billing and spent hours dealing with Kids care dental that were not resolved. We left this dentist because of all the billing issues and incorrect charges. We left this dentist over 6 months ago and are still dealing with the billing. I highly recommend thinking twice about this dental office unless they change who they are billing with.

I have to say this pediatric dentist office is better then most but definitely not as good as when Dr. Nutter was there he knew how to work with kids we've gone there for a few years and he was great they changed ownership and the hygienists are very rude some don't even speak good enough English and have no patience for kids my oldest is ADHD she has anxiety and sensory issues the hygienist didnt want to deal with my daughter so she got the Female Dr she had no patience either and was getting frustrated with my daughter almost getting mad and telling her how she has other kids to see which only made things worse because they way they talked to my daughter and made her feel more scared apparently these Doctors Didnt learn anything working with Dr nutter i dont even know why they are pediatric Dentist they shouldn't be working with kids maybe they need to work with adults instead Not a place to take a child if they have learning issues or anxiety or scare easily

Dr. Shaffer and the office staff are great but I will never step foot in this office again due to a rude and disrespectful hygienist. We have seen "Ms. A" several times and I chalked her behavior up to a long day or a bad day but after several visits there has been NO change! The first time I have ever not taken my kids to their appointment there was an incident. I came back several hours later to be able to speak to "Ms. A" to hear what happened in her words and she REFUSED to speak to me!!! Flat out walked away! This woman works in a Pediatric Dentistry office but has never had a kid friendly conversation or any real conversation with my kids! I would NOT recommend this office to anyone and I would suggest anyone that is currently being seen here, to find a place that really is kid friendly.

THE Worts Pediatric Dentist office hands down. Dr nutter knew what he was doing. On the state board of pediatric dentistry with numerous published articles on pain tolerance and youth. Anybody who knows anything about psychological development of children and pain receptors would understand that what is being done now is an acceptable. Our most recent visit, my daughter screamed after Dr Andrews gave her a shot and continued to push through the screams. I have never seen any of my three children respond this way. I had to call in another doctor after a solid minute of allowing her to endure this excruciating pain. Dr Andrews offered no consolation. This has been the worst experience we've ever had. I had Dr nutter as my dentist as a child which is why we chose rolling hills pediatric dentistry but now since it has changed over to kids care dental, it's become another invasive mainstream kids dentist operation out for money.

My girls got dental treatment at the Fairfeld office with Dr. Andrew who is a great doctor. My girls love her so much. She is so easy to talk to & caring. She explained to us the details of the dental work ahead of time, which makes it for the girls to cooperate well. Awesome experience with her!!

Brought my little one here today She is 4yrs old. Scheduling my appointment was a breeze. The office is super kid friendly. The staff extremely nice and professional. My daughter requires a lot of work and the doctor and assistant answered all my questions with ease. They did not make me feel bad about the condition my daughters teeth were in. They said they were happy to see me in with her so we can move forward and prepare for a future with better care. When it came to Breaking down what my insurance will be covering and what I would have to do next They did not leave anything out looking forward to visiting there establishment for many years to come. THANK YOU!

Dr. Andrews is amazing and patient with our 5yr old daughter. She made sure she got comfortable enough so she could do what she needed to do with little resistance and interruption due to our daughter being scared or unsure of the dentist. Dr. Andrews is such a bright light of joy and is so helpful to just serve. Highly recommend!!

There is no place I can recommend more highly than Rolling Hills Pediatric Dentistry. All five of our children including our severely retarded autistic twin daughters are patients there. All of the staff is extraordinary!

Since only one parent was allowed into the appointment--my husband gave me the whole rundown. He was impressed by the service, and patience of everyone at Rolling Hills. We can't wait to continue to make Rolling Hills apart of our family's ongoing care. :)
