Dr. Dina Sanchez is a Board CertifiedOrthodontist, mom, published author, wife, University of Maryland clinical professor, abstract artist, tooth fairy, and accidental lacrosse superfan. Proud owner of Twinky Baltimores jolliest car.
Dr. Sanchez has a tiny version of a life outside of orthodontics. Family is her true life and her happiness. She lives in Baltimore County with her sweetheart husband and children. When she is not working on creating beautiful smiles and teaching awesome dental students and orthodontic residents at the University of Maryland, you can find her on the pitch cheering for her childrens lacrosse and soccer teams.
Since childhood she has had an affinity for all things creative. Dr. Sanchez is an optimistic (self-taught) abstract artist and has a modern and minimalist style of painting that cannot be defined, but rather felt. She has created her art style through her love for composition, colorand the philosophy that through lifes imperfections, there is always a need for beauty, particularly in chaos. She escapes it all by retreating to her petit art studio, which stocks oodles of stretched canvas and perfectly-lined-up-color-coordinated-paint just in case she feels optimistic.
Orthodontic treatment can be a life-changing event, but for many families who have children born with cleft lip and palate, it is as elusive as abstract art. Dr. Sanchez believes strongly that everyone deserves a beautiful smile, however, she understands that for many it is simply not possible, at least not without some help. Dr. Sanchez has created a philanthropic mission dear to her heart Art of Smile, which donates the proceeds of her art to organizations supporting families in need ofaccess to care.
Her career as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Maryland, Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry has given her the opportunity to teach the next generation of dentists and orthodontists, conduct research, publish and function as a thesis mentor to orthodontic residents in their pursuit of a Masters of Science degree. Her experience as an orthodontist and educator in a pediatric dental setting at the University of Maryland has shaped her style of treatment for all patients in a kind, caring, and compassionate way. As a mom, she is cool enough to talk to her patients about Fortnight, Clash of Clans and how to deter unwanted boyfriends with a headgear, but nerdy enough to talk about the nitty-gritty of braces and straightening teeth.
Dr. Sanchez is committed to excellence in education and technology in the profession, thus teaching continuing education courses for local and international dentists on modern advancements in orthodontics and interdisciplinary topics. Dr. Sanchez is a published author, including the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AJODO) and provides peer review contributions for numerous journals in her profession.
She serves the American Association of Orthodontists as a Council Member for Scientific Affairs (COSA). Apart of being an active member for the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), she is also a member of the Mid-Atlantic Society of Orthodontics (MASO), the Maryland State Society of Orthodontics (MSSO) and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).
Most people are surprised to find out that only 1/3rd of Orthodontists are Board Certified. The process of becoming American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) Certified requires the completion of a peer-developed, externally validated written and clinical examinations. They must submit documented case studies of successful treatments of patients that have been treated with precision and to the highest level possible. This is above and beyond completing a graduate program in dentistry, and an additional 2-3 years of specialty training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.

Botox for TMJ has been the only thing to help my constant teeth grinding. I've been to many places for it, but this is the first place where I feel like I am finally feeling long term results. Working with Dr. Sanchez has changed my quality of life drastically! She is very thoughtful and honest, and works around my limited budget to provide the best care possible. I am so grateful!

We love this office! The staff is so warm and friendly. They always greet my son by name when he walks in and even customized a little marquee welcome sign for his first appointment. Setting up monthly payments was easy and well explained. I would recommend them to anyone.

Extremely welcoming. Great experience! Consultation was on large screen so both child and parents could see the teeth and the plan to fix them. Plan of care was well thought out and explained clearly. Office was very clean and bright! Staff were wonderful!

My daughter and I are very pleased with Roland Park Orthodontics. Everyone is so incredibly friendly, from the moment you walk in the door. They even had a placard with my daughter's name welcoming her to her first appointment. The doctor is very knowledgeable, thorough, and takes her time explaining everything. I highly recommend this practice!

I wanted to like my results but unfortunately I do not. The Dr. was very nice/personable and the practice is very aesthetically nice but I found her a bit salesy and I'm physically worse off. I went for TMJ Botox (which I have had several times before but not here). Sadly I am still clenching unlike with prior treatments elsewhere. I only switched because the last doctor gave me a crooked smile but those treatments were at least helping. I also thought the switch from a medspa to an actual orthodontist who is trained in TMJ treatment would be beneficial but unfortunately I found Dr. Sanchez to be more salesy than a medspa when I was really looking for someone treatment and patient oriented. I asked about starting with a low number of units to see if I have pain relief and Dr. Sanchez pretty much ignored my concerns and said 25 per side is the minimum (which is very subjective) and that some people need 75 per side. She put 25 per side and told me "I'll probably call saying I need more." In hindsight that statement was very telling/ominous because my pain is SIGNIFICANTLY worse than before Botox treatment from this practice. I will certainly be back for more, but not at this practice. The only thing I can think of is that Dr. Sanchez injects the entire syringe in one spot instead of multiple muscle points, which I've never heard or seen and which scared me a bit, so maybe that is what went so wrong and the Botox all in one spot caused tightness and knots. My masseters or whatever muscle is around it are visibly larger and I can palpate knots (that "crunch" or "pop" like knots on someone's trapezius). It's as if my whole muscle is tensed or seized up. It's causing pain and hard tightness to palpation in my temples too. My temples also look larger. My left masseter also has much more movement and is visibly larger than my right. Such a shame as this treatment was $600 and I'm not even slightly improved but in fact worse off. I ended up not going back in or contacting to have them fix it because it seemed that they were more interested in getting my money than testing me. So that initial level of trust was never built and I just could tell going back in would be entirely fruitless. I'm going to another injector I know and trust and who has proven themselves very ethical and actually treatment oriented
