Dental implants are small titanium posts that replace the roots of missing teeth (View Example). They are inserted into your jawbone during a minor surgical procedure that takes place in the dental office. After the implant has been placed in your jawbone, a completely lifelike porcelain tooth crown is attached. In some cases, the implant needs to fuse with the bone for several months before it is permanently crowned; in other cases, you can have new (but temporary) teeth the same day your implants are placed.

You can replace a single tooth, multiple teeth or all your teeth with implants (View Examples). You don't even need one implant for every missing tooth. As few as two Implants can support a removable lower denture, while as few as four implants can provide a full, permanent set of top or bottom teeth.

Most people find dental implant surgery very easy to tolerate. Any post-operative discomfort can usually be managed with over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen or OTC pain-relievers. Ice can also be helpful.

At the outset, implants are more expensive than other tooth-replacement methods such as dentures or bridgework. But they also last many years longer and in fact should never need replacement. So they offer the best, most cost-effective option when viewed as a long-term investment in your health, comfort and well-being.

They require exactly the same care as natural teeth: daily brushing and flossing, along with regular dental checkups and professional cleanings. Although implant teeth will never decay, the gum tissues around them can become inflamed or infected in the absence of good oral hygiene. Properly cared-for dental implants should last a lifetime.

Strictly speaking, implants can't be rejected because they contain no living cells or genetically coded material. The titanium of which they are made is completely biocompatible, and allergies are extremely rare. But an implant can fail to integrate with the jawbone if an infection develops in the absence of good oral hygiene, or if it is subjected to biting forces too soon. However, this is rare; implants regularly achieve success rates in excess of 95%.

I started going to Rogers Dental Center 20 years ago and have never experienced any issues. We now take our entire family there and the kids absolutely love getting their teeth cleaned. Every one from the front desk to the dentist are extremely professional. We drive an hour round trip to see the dentist and it is worth it. Thank you for taking care of us!

Dr. Jeff is great! I had problems with a crown over the past couple years and he made me a new one at no charge! I've been seeing him for a few years now and he's great! His assistant Laura is amazing as well! She's always so helpful!

I guess if you just need a cleaning, and get the right hygienist, then it's a great place. Just hope you don't need a referral or a chance to actually talk to a dentist. I recently set up my whole family as new patients. My teenage daughter's visit was great. The hygienist was wonderful, the people were friendly. My older son's appointment went fine. They had me come in to do an exam and then set up a separate appointment for a cleaning (apparently standard for them). The exam was very long- the work up seemed a bit excessive. But I asked about a referral for jaw pain and he saw some old fillings that needed work. He said that he would look at everything, come up with a plan and then discuss it at the cleaning. Everyone was sure to mention that there was consult time scheduled for this. But when I showed up with my other son for our cleanings... what a disaster! I've never had a more brutal cleaning. My teeth and gums still hurt the next day. She kept resting her hand on my eye (yes, really!) and the tools kept banging against my teeth. Then she said there wasn't time scheduled for a consult with the dentist, but told me I needed a crown. I was taken to a consult room to go over costs for the work they recommended. While trying to go over that, a lady out at the desk kept yelling across the hall to me to ask about scheduling a follow up appointment for my son. I yelled back about also getting a referral to the same orthodontist they referred my daughter to... but she said there was no referral for her. (They did eventually find it, but it took a long time.) It was crazy- everybody trying to do everything at once with no organization or plan at all. We were there for an hour and a half. And in all that time, I still never even saw the dentist. But was told I could set up a THIRD appointment to come meet with him.(Why not? I don't have a job and kids and a life.. oh wait. Yes, I do.) And I never got any answers on my jaw pain issue, though there was supposed to be a referral. My husband still has his appointment scheduled. But I really don't see us staying with this place.

After being at another dentist for over 30 years, I made the switch to Dr. Shana and I'm really glad I did. She does great work, "gentle dentistry", and is great at squeezing me into her schedule when I have an emergency. I would highly recommend Dr. Shana and Rogers Dental Center.

I hadn't been to the dentist for a long time due to a traumatic injury when I was very young giving me high anxiety at the dentist. I came to Rogers Dental and they went out of their way to make me comfortable! I went consistently until I moved out of state and had to get a cleaning elsewhere. What a reality check. Now that I have moved back to the area I am so glad to be back in their care.
