I love my life in dentistry because it allows me to help others. I am an advocate for long-term health in our patients. Improved dental care and patient education are key to this. I 'm not into lecturing with any 'you must' instructions. Rather, I believe in explaining what is important and why. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a patient 's expression brighten up as he or she smiles and sees beautiful teeth in the mirror.

Through my career dentistry has evolved from treating individual teeth to treating the whole person. Many systemic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, some forms of cancer, and numerous other conditions have possible links to dental health. My goal is to help you attain not only the smile you desire, but also a healthy lifestyle.

I have always had an interest in the sciences and realized that I could use this to serve others in the field of healthcare. I graduated from Texas Tech University with my undergraduate degree in chemistry and continued on to receive my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Dental School at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

I have continued to broaden my knowledge and sharpen my skills through postgraduate courses. I have taken part in numerous continuing education courses, focusing on those that would help me improve the care I provide through functional and aesthetic dentistry, as well as those concentrated on treating jaw problems, facial pain, and headaches in relation to your oral health. In 1990, I received my Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry.

With the numerous technological developments and new skills to be mastered, I have found it worthwhile to take up involvement with numerous professional organizations. I am constantly seeking new information through lectures, reading, and study. It is great when I can apply new developments and findings to improve patient treatments.

A native Houston resident, I have spent my entire life here except for the four years I spent at Texas Tech. My family moved here in 1960 when much of the Westbury area was under construction. My wife and I are lucky to have fallen for each other while in Junior High School. Though married since 1973, we still celebrate our 'Going Steady' anniversary too. We are proud of our only son, now an adult, and are active in many church activities. I have also served as a board of the Central Texas Leadership Training for Christ for many years.

Dr. Tum's academic accomplishments began at the University of California at Los Angeles, attaining her undergraduate degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. She furthered her education at the UCLA School of Dentistry with her Doctorate in Dental Surgery. Wanting to be a specialist in restorative care, Dr. Tum took on three additional years after dental school to specialize in Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Tums greatest passion in life is helping others. As a specialist in prosthodontics, she focuses on the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of patients with missing or deficient teeth. I will assist you with all things associated with the front desk. I do your scheduling with the doctor and hygienist, make financial arrangements, work with your insurance and get any questions you may have answered about your treatment. I have happily and proudly worked for Dr. Rayburn since 1998. Our team is incredible.

I have been in or around dentistry my whole life. My love for dentistry started when I worked for my father, a retired dentist, while still in elementary school. When I did my working interview in early 2012 with Dr. Rayburn, I knew right away that this was the type of office I wanted to be a part of. Working with him I found out that he has a great personality and excellent work ethic. I knew then for sure that this was where I wanted to be; and as an added plus, the rest of the staff was so friendly and helpful to work with.If I am not at work, you will find that I am with my children and grandchildren or sailing away on the ocean blue.

I joined the team in 2016 as Dr. Hilliard's dental assistant. I enjoy working with my fellow team members to provide excellent patient care.I received my certification from The College of Healthcare Professionals and have been a Registered Dental Assistant since 2006. Since then I have increased my knowledge and skills through multiple continuing education classes.I have two beautiful daughters who are my world. In my spare time I enjoy movies, especially those related to Marvel and DC comics; but most of all, I just enjoy being with my family.

I am a native Houstonian and grew up in the Katy area.After graduation, I attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in 2004 with a BA in Human Ecology. Dental Hygiene may not have been my first career path, but one that I am happy to be part of. Going back to school in 2012 for hygiene was one of the hardest and best things I have ever done for myself. In 2014, I graduated with Honors from Coleman College for Health Sciences, one of my proudest moments.
