Dr. Rod Mollere decided at an early age he wanted to be a dentist. He was introduced to the dental profession in his home community of San Antonio, Texas where his mother worked in a dental practice. Following his graduation from the University of Texas Dental Branch Houston, he blended his dedication to dentistry with his desire to travel by joining the United States Army. His first assignment was the beautiful city of Nurnberg, Germany where he requested the challenge to work with children. For the next five years, Dr. Mollere had the unique opportunity of working with three talented Pediatric Dentists that mentored him in the care, management and techniques of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Mollere met the love of his life in Nurnberg where Shelia was a teacher with the Department of Defense Overseas Dependent Schools. Later they celebrated their marriage with family and friends in a candlelight ceremony in a beautiful old church outside of Nurnberg followed by a honeymoon cruise to Greece and Turkey.

Following Dr. Mollere's five year mentorship in Pediatric Dentistry he was assigned to his formal two year residency at University of Missouri at Kansas City in Pediatric Dentistry. Upon graduation he continued his military career in Texas and then S.H.A.P.E., Belgium which presented new opportunities to introduce his sons, Marc and Chris, to international cultures and travel.

Following S.H.A.P.E., Belgium Dr. Mollere served as Program Director of the Pediatric Dentistry Residency at Ft. Meade, Maryland. A return to Texas followed Ft. Meade with an assignment to Ft. Bliss in El Paso. Dr. Mollere and his family immediately liked the blending of the military and civilian communities, the diversity of living on the border, the wonderful weather, beautiful mountains, but MOST of ALL the friendly and hard working families of El Paso and surrounding areas.

Dr. Mollere is proud of his military service and retired at the rank of O-6 Colonel. He chose to remain in El Paso to serve the fabulous civilian and military families in the area, first working at the La Fe Clinic and later in private practice. Today he maintains his practice at 965 N. Resler Drive across from Franklin High School. Dr. Mollere finds amazing satisfaction that many of his patients started with him as toddlers and are now off to college, military academies, and other career choices. (Some even expressing an interest in becoming a dentist!) He and his talented team assert they have the 'WORLD 'S BEST PATIENTS' and welcome new patients to join their family. They make your children their Number One Priority and treat them exactly like they would treat their own children. Your children are VERY SPECIAL and deserve the Personalized Specialty Care Dr. Mollere can provide.

Not entirely terrible that's if you want to have cavities without knowing. I've gone here for MULTIPLE years ( no problems before ) and recently switched and found out I have MULTIPLE cavities and have gone to appointments and wasn't told ANYTHING they are nice but WILL NOT tell you if you have a cavity even if it's CLEAR. DON'T GO HERE IF YOU WANT GOOD TEETH.

Dr. Mollere and his staff are always so positive, and gentle with my children. They all look forward to dental visits, my daughter even wants to become a dentist now. We went to this office after being told that my three year old needed 2,000 dollars worth of work on "surface cavities!" Dr. Mollere thoughtfully and thoroughly evaluated the child and came to a very different conclusion. Fast forward 7 years, and there have not been any issues. We recently had a dental emergency on a Sunday, and Dr. Mollere was in contact with us immediately. He checked up on the patient multiple times throughout the week. So grateful to have a kind, caring , and awesome dentist for my children.

For full transparency, Rod Mollere is my Dad and has been my dentist for 41 years. I don't enjoy going to the dentist and when I'm not able to go to my Dad's office, I have to see another dentist. I've had good dentists and terrible ones. One thing I can say about my Dad is that his care is better than any other dentist I've ever visited for an appointment. He makes more complex procedures feel simple and painful ones painless. He's truly doing the job that he was meant to do for his life! If you are looking for a dentist that makes sure you're getting the treatment you need and isn't going to try to do extra procedures to make extra money, then please go see Rod Mollere. All of his treatments and decisions about care for the individual patient stems from what is absolutely best for his patient. I don't like going to the dentist, but if I need a check up or filling, I'll go see Rod Mollere, my Dad, any day of the week and I know I'll get the best care out there for my teeth!

Same reasons as the others have stated regarding insurance. Telling me that my son wasn't on my insurance when that's not the case.

Personally, he's a kind, warm, friendly dentist & my kids like him like a grandpa. He's really personable and his friendly jolly visits are the main reason we are still coming here. He puts the kids at ease and seems genuinely concerned. The office staff is a little less than wonderful, though. I have to agree with some of the other reviews concerning the staff. I also showed up for an appointment following the appointment card they sent and was told we don't have an appointment. The doctor wasn't even there. They went ahead and did a cleaning but no checkup bc doc wasn't there. If he improved his office staff I could give 5 stars.

Great dentist, and disappointed I have to leave an unfavorable review for something he did not do directly. But unfortunately the office staff has proven to be unprofessional. A staff member was rude my wife over the phone and complained about our insurance, "to be honest, I do not like your insurance" among other comments. Most dental offices confirm they accept a patients insurance BEFORE a procedure is done. We have been to other dentists and there have been no complaints or issues at all from our nationally known dental insurance.

Staff is rude. Poor communication with services done or needing to be done. My three of my sons fillings fell out and it was challenge to get him to replace them. The doctor spoke badly about certain insurance companies giving me the impression he turns people away if their insurance company doesn't pay him more (Medicaid and blue cross blue shield).

Scheduled an appointment and got there to be told I was wrong even though I was following the appointment card. Called and while staff including office manager was very rude and didn't seem to care if we went back or not.

Mollere works well with children , never forces any procedures until your child is ready . He'll make your child comfortable because he knows how to talk to them and reassure everything is ok . Staff and hygienist very nice and always friendly . I'd recommend this office, its a smaller setting , makes it more personal and friendly .
