Dr. Jianming Duan (aka 'Dr. Jimmy') graduated from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. He brings in state of the art dentistry to the practice, including a new digital X-ray system, Lumineers, Invisalign/ClearCorrect (Invisible braces), rotary endodontic system, and dental implants. The latest technologies of dentistry and his outstanding training background allow him to provide the highest quality of comprehensive dental care.

Dr. Jimmy was born and grown up in China. At only 23, he graduated with honors from the School of Dental Medicine, Beijing Medical University with a DDS degree. Over the next seven years, he worked as a dentist and he worked his way through Beijing Medical University again, this time earning a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He then went on to The National Institutes of Health in Bethesda for a few years as a senior research scientist in head and neck cancer research.

While Dr. Jimmy's years of experience have led to excellence in diagnosis; his attending many lectures, workshops and continuing education courses each year also keeps Dr. Jimmy at the forefront in dentistry; especially in general and cosmetic dentistry. He truly practices at the master level of dentistry. Dr. Duan insists on the highest level of excellence for himself, his team (both clinical and administrative as well as his associate dentists. Continuing education and patient satisfaction are so important that he brings his team to an education program monthly on these subjects.

Dr. Julia Batres was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in Germantown, MD. She completed her Bachelor's degree at the University of Maryland, College Park and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Batres completed a general practice residency in Washington D.C. at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center where she provided dental care to veterans with complex medical conditions and extensive dental needs.

Dr. Batres enjoys all aspects of dentistry including root canal therapy, extractions, fillings, crown and bridge, implant restoration, removable prosthodontics, and periodontal treatment. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and likes to explain treatment options in a way that keeps the patient educated, active and involved with their own treatment plan. She takes great satisfaction in taking the time to counsel patients to help them achieve and maintain a bright and healthy smile.

While in dental school, she completed a summer internship called 'Bridging the Gaps' where she assisted members of the community in attaining oral health education and awareness. She also served the residents of Mavis Bank, Jamaica on a week-long dental mission trip and participated in 'Scope II', a program dedicated to providing access to dental care in rural communities.

Dr. Steven Liu earned his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Liu pursued two post-doctoral certificates in Periodontics (healthy gums), Prosthetics (tooth replacement) and Fixed Prosthodontics, as well as Implant Surgical and Prosthetic training. Dr. Liu was an assistant professor/clinical educator of Restorative Dentistry in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences and the director of the Implant Dentistry Course at the University of Pennsylvania. Now, he is the Course Director of Aesthetic Restoration and Implant Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania.

He is the recipient of 2001, 2002 and 2004 Joseph L. T. Appleton Award for excellence in clinical instruction and an 'American Top Dentist' for 2005, 2006 and 2007. His papers have been published in Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry, The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Quintessence International. He is now considered a frequently requested speaker on the local and international scene.

Dr. Liu's clinical research activities focus on periodontal prosthesis concepts and implant dentistry, including aesthetic and anatomy concerns for implant surgery and prosthesis. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration.

Dr. Susan (Shuyan) Rofe grew up in China where she graduated from dental school. After moving to the USA she first obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science, and she later went back to dental school at NYU where she graduated in the top percentile with her DDS degree. After dental school, Dr. Rofe went on for advanced general residency training at the University of Michigan Hospital where she worked with cancer patients as well as other complex medical patients. After residency training, she worked both in a public health clinic as well as private practice.

Dr. Rofe moved to the state of Maryland in 2017 to be closer to her parents. In addition, Dr. Rofe (Captain Rofe) is a commissioned dental officer for the Michigan National Guard reserve. Dr. Rofe is well-loved by both her colleagues and her patients for her kindness, gentleness, and compassion towards people. Dr. Rofe is a passionate learner; she has attended over 160 hours of continuing education classes in the past two years alone.

Having grown up in Maryland and currently resides in Germantown, Diane graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's degree from Financial and Accounting, and also obtained an Associate Degree of Education from Montgomery College. She also has a Cosmetology certificate. She has been working as an accountant in different companies including Marriott International and also part-time cosmetologist for a few years. Now she's been working in Rockville Dental Center for a few years to provide financial and accounting support and administrative support.
