Dr. Lopez received a BA in economics from Northwestern University in 1989 with an emphasis in pre-dental studies. He worked for four years in the insurance industry before deciding that healthcare was his calling. He received his DDS in 1999 from the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Dentistry.
He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, and is a past president of the Winnebago County Dental Society. He is an advocate of continued dental education attending seminars and conferences to stay current with the dynamic changes in the dental profession.
Dr. Lopez is very committed to his family and he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, daughter, and son. He is a big sports fan, he loves reading, fishing, boating, wakeboarding, snow skiing, exercising, hanging out with friends and family. He truly enjoys working with the doctors and staff at RDC while keeping the comfort and well-being of all patients is his top priority.

Check in was fast and easy, The Dental Assistant Angela was very friendly and great at her job. Dr Lopez was awesome and explained what needed to be done in simple terms and all options that were available. Highly recommend

Wow, I went in today for a Wisdom tooth extraction. I'm terrified of needles and IVs. They gave me the laughing gas then the IV.. even though they struggled with IV.. this was easier than I though and they were understanding

We've been going here for a few years. The staff and dentists are great. I think they got some staffing issues. My wife had to wait 8 months for a new patient exam, one week before her appointment she got a call saying a bunch of staff quit and the next available was in another 6 months. Crazy! All our upcoming cleaning appointments got bumped several months. No time for us, guess we go somewhere else.

Wonderful place! Dr. Johnston, his assistant and my dental hygienist are very professional and nice. They take a great care of my teeth every time. I had lots of work done last year, and everything looks and feels great so far. Ladies at the front desk are nice and welcoming. I would strongly recommend Rockford Dental Care. Waited for over 30 minutes. I think a text is deserved if more than 15 min behind as if I showed up that late for an appt they would tell me to re schedule. Hygienist was good.

Fast, Friendly, Highly Professional and Painless. Dr. Johnston does an outstanding job. All the hygienist are very friendly, patient and always give me great instructions on keeping my teeth and gums helathy.
