Dr. Jennifer Rubin was born and raised in Forest Hills, New York. She attended Boston University where she majored in Psychology. After college, she continued her studies and received a masters degree in Medical Sciences at Boston University School of Medicine and DMD degree from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
A passionate oral health advocate, Dr. Rubin was extremely involved in oral health outreach programs while in dental school, including delivering dental care to indigent populations in Guatemala. After graduating from dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center. Her enthusiasm for pediatric dentistry led her to pursue a two-year Pediatric Dental Residency Program at Mount Sinai Hospital.
At Mount Sinai, she gained significant expertise in the dental and oral health treatment of pediatric and special needs patients, including areas of trauma, pediatric medicine, craniofacial anomalies, and treatment under sedation, including general anesthesia, oral sedation, and IV sedation.
Dr. Rubin had dreams of becoming a dentist since she was 10 years old. She has fulfilled that dream and absolutely loves being a pediatric dentist. She makes sure every child she treats feels special, comfortable, and confident, while creating a truly fun, welcoming environment. She lives in Boulder, Colorado with her husband, the love of her life, their son, Sasha, and their mini goldendoodle, Burnie (you may recognize him as one of the Rock Kid characters!)

Spotter is 6 years old and loves playing all sports. He plays soccer, basketball, lacrosse, hockey, bocce ball, tennis, golf, and curling. He is very competitive and always makes sure to wear a sports guard. He keeps his lucky pebble in his pocket at all times and sleeps with his little stuffed dog, Pashka. Spotter loves Rocky Road ice cream but always makes sure to brush his teeth after!
Slate is 8 years old and loves art. He likes to paint and draw. His favorite place to paint is near the Boulder Creek. He is fluent in 5 languages- English, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, and Tagalog. He loves sushi. His favorite roll is a salmon avocado roll with extra moss for dipping. Slate is also a really good flosser!
Sandy is 4 years old and absolutely loves animals! All animals! She actually has 10 pets at home- two puppies, one cat, two hamsters, one raccoon, a sugar glider, one jellyfish, and two hedgehogs. Sandy LOVES brushing her teeth and makes sure she brushes all her pets teeth as well. Her favorite color is chartreuse and she likes to wear llama pajamas. Her favorite toothpaste flavor is Dazzling Dirt.
Flint is 9 years old and is very serious about pizza. He loves all kinds of pizzas and makes his own at least 6 times a week. He loves pretty unique toppings such as seaweed, peach, cucumber, and animal crackers. His favorite pizza place is in Tokyo called Savoy. He loves watching all cooking shows in his favorite New York Yankees cap. He is a big fan of Padma Lakshmi. He also really loves brushing his teeth!
Flash is 4 years old and his brother, Sloper, is 15 years old. Although the Cairn brothers are so far apart in age, they are still best friends. Flash love everything that has to do with football. He also loves to collect stamps! He has an extensive stamp collection- his favorite is his Elvis stamp. Sloper loves to play basketball and chess. Hes been playing chess since he was 3 years old and is currently the state champion of Colorado. They love to read mystery books together and love to complete huge puzzles together!
Sasha is 6 years old. He LOVES to visit the dentist! He is actually an aspiring dentist. Sasha also has an amazing rock collection- go figure?! His favorite rocks include granite, syenite, diorite, gabbro, porphyry, felsite, andesite, basalt, obsidian, pumice, scoria, conglomerate, sandstone, shale, limestone, gypsum, tufa, coal, gneiss, schist, slate, and soapstone. He also loves to play ping pong! His favorite song to sing while brushing his teeth is the ABCs three times!
Belay is 10 years old. She is an excellent dancer. She loves ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom, and contemporary dance! She also loves listening to all kinds of music. Her favorite is country. Belay loves trying different toothpastes out at home- from bubblegum to wild strawberry. She makes sure to brush every morning and every night for at least two minutes! Her favorite toothbrush is her Trolls toothbrush.
Crag is 13 years old! He loves yoga! His favorite positions are savasana and happy baby. Crag also loves to bake and come up with fun, new flavor combinations. His favorites are avocado and bacon cupcakes, minty chocolate toothpaste flavored cake, vanilla and artichoke cookies, and yogurt rosemary ice cream! Although he loves sweet treats, he also loves his veggies! Crag makes sure to floss in between all his teeth every single night. He has lost all his baby teeth except for one!
Burnie is 12 dog years old, which makes him about 84 human years old. He is VERY wise and loves all kinds of bones. He especially loves when his humans brush his teeth. He is not very good at flossing- but thats okay. Maybe he will learn one day? He also loves all tennis balls and is obsessed with popcorn. He can hear a bag of popcorn open from at least a mile away. He enjoys listening to all musical soundtracks and his favorite is Hamilton. He is a very good boy!
