Dr. J and his staff were wonderful with my daughter. Everyone was very nice and professional. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. I was a bit worried at first with how busy they were when we arrived for our appointment, but we were served in a very timely manner without feeling rushed. When it was time to check-out, they were very clear about the billing process with what insurance covered and if there would be another bill sent out. They must be doing something right with how busy they are all of the time. We will definitely continue to go to Dr. J and his team until our girl can't go to a pediatric dentist anymore. Thanks RHPD!!

I've been coming here since my children's very first dental visits. Now, after ~4 years, we will be seeking a new office. First, I will preface this review by saying we've never had any issues with Dr. J. He seems like a nice guy who is enthusiastic about his profession and takes parents' concerns into account for treatment plans. Like I said, never have had any issues with him and have trusted his pediatric dentistry expertise for our kids thus far. My problem with this office lies in the customer service that his team offers, which has left much to be desired. Two visits ago, I brought both children for their routine cleanings; appts purposely scheduled at the same time to avoid coming back on a second day. While one child happily obliged to their cleaning, the other was clearly nervous, upset and started to break down crying, wanting me. While I tried to calm her and talk her through it, it was extremely frustrating as a parent to see the hygienist sit there showing ZERO compassion, visibly annoyed and rolling her eyes! At one point she said to my 5 year old daughter that she "can't do anything if you're just going to cry the whole time." Honestly, it caught me off guard and is nothing I'd expect from someone who has chosen a profession of serving children. Obviously, this angered me and I actually considered finding a new office at that time. I decided to try scheduling appts differently next time, maybe the she had a bad day, and hopefully next time we'd have someone else. However, our next routine cleaning I intended to have both kids with back to back appointments. However, when we went back, both kids were put in chairs at the same time. Unfortunately, my daughter was with the same hygienist as last visit and became anxious and upset again. This led to my son getting upset. I'll stop here to point out the difference in the staff. My son's hygienist reacted like this -- tried to calm him down and show patience with his 3 year old fears. My daughter's on the other hand, reacted essentially the same she had last visit -- saying "are we going to do this again?", visibly annoyed, sighing. She finally just turned around and ignored us when I had to step in and tell her my daughter needs a minute. Again, would simply expect from someone working with children, or really just any respectable human being actually. Today, I called to reschedule our appts. The receptionist had little to no personality, sounding as if she did not want to help me or be on the phone at all. They had hardly any availability for at least 2-3 weeks. When I asked to remind me the times of my current appts I was told "Oh, no those need to be rescheduled anyway because Dr. J will be at the surgery center and not taking appts." I asked when someone planned to tell me that and she simply said they were working on going through those now...So our appts that were one week away needed to be rescheduled but no appts are open for at least 2-3 more weeks and you were going to tell me at some point between the next 4-5 business days leading up those said appts?? I'm glad I hadn't requested off work! After finally finding a date a month out from our original appts, I requested appts right after each other so they could see the same hygienist and not be in chair at the same time. I was told that's not possible because they put kids in whatever chairs are open. They can't hold up one hygienist for a whole family. This made no sense to me as they could simply call the next kid to that seat but ok. I tried to explain that we need appts NOT at the same time so I can sit with them or they will cry. To which she responded, "Oh yea we're used to that; we'll just go in and do what we need to do anyway to get it done." I tried to say that's what traumatizes my kids and yet they have "no way to do that." Oddly enough, the receptionist found her personality and cheerily responded "Ok! No problem!" when I told her just cancel the appts and I'd find a new dentist. Good luck to Dr. J. I hope his good employees can outshine the ones ruining his office's reputation.

Unacceptable on so many levels. I will be clear, I am not one to post a review unless it's a matter of health and safety. If you are concerned at all about covid safety or covid exposure do not patronize this establishment. We walked in for my daughters appointment this morning and not only was there 6 people in the waiting room with no masks on, the receptionist had her mask below her nose. As I sat there I looked around for any signs about covid safety or face coverings being required and saw nothing. I was immediately uncomfortable and the final straw was when a family came from the exam area (no masks on) and then another family walked in from outside with out masks on. At this point we were in a small confined waiting area with approximately 10 people no masks. As one of the unmasked children walked by she sneezed and didn't cover her face, I watched saliva particles fly everywhere. It was at this point we walked out. I will be taking my daughter to my dentist Dr. Peeples from now on, where they take covid safety seriously. I know that what I witnessed this morning at Rock Hill Pediatric Dentistry did not follow ADA covid safety protocols and I will be filing a complaint with the necessary officials. I didn't diligently protect my child and those most vulnerable in my life for the last 6 months just to risk it all at a supposedly safe medical establishment.

My daughter is 13. Since she was going she has had fear of dentist. She had hyperplasia. A lot Teeth pulling when younger so she has anxiety when going. She loves coming here. The personality of everyone is so nice. Tiffany she really loved . Her quotes was " she likes to talk mom" Some kids just want someone who loves what they do. It really helps The atmosphere.

My daughter and I Love dr. J, love the office. Didn't have a great experience with the hygienist. My daughter is four and she started crying with her and she was scared and the hygienist wasn't patient with her, made her even more scared by being rude and forceful with her. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she just didn't want to get bitten (my daughter isn't a biter, but she kept trying to close her mouth because she said it hurt) but now my daughter is scared to go back in six months. Will definitely be back to this practice, just will request to see someone different *** I want to update my review. After leaving this review, Dr. J called me personally and was very kind and understanding of my daughters needs. We discussed finding someone better suited to my daughters personality type in the future. I really appreciated the professionalism and understanding. Looking forward to coming back here and finding someone who can work well with us.

Today I had the most embarrassing and unprofessional experience with this dentistry. The front desk receptionist Shannon was very rude, loud and questioned me about a $97 bill that was uncovered by my insurance. I contacted the insurance company and they stated that the office should contact them as there was an error. Despite me sharing this with Shannon she said we contacted you four times where were you then? She had the most horrible disposition I have ever seen. When asking her to move forward and make this right she further stated we tried to make this right where were you then? There 5 other families in the lobby with their kids as she carried on so unprofessionally. She then stated I was going to help you but then threatened me by saying I am not now. If that wasn't rude enough she further brung in a colleague, Denise who wanted to reprimand me as well. I felt disgraced, embarrassed, and as though my business wasn't good enough. The dentist whose job is to care for his patience often has a positive disposition. I can't believe he has allowed such staff to represent his business. The end result is they basically shamed me out the door and did not attempt to make it right. In fact Shannon was complaining from the start that the sunlight was too bright for her. This being the only light that seems to be apart of her ill-mannered disposition.
