Dr. Lowenguth is originally from Albany, New York. She graduated magna cum laude from Siena College in Loudonville, New York with a BS in biology. Following college graduation from Siena College, she attended SUNY at Buffalos School of Dental Medicine, graduating at the top of her class.
During dental school, she was actively involved in scientific research and was awarded the Oral Biology Fellowship, academic achievement award from the American Association of Womens Dentists, and was the recipient of the Outstanding Student Award in Periodontics from the American Academy of Periodontology.
After meeting her husband Dr. Mark Lowenguth, a native of Rochester, in dental school, she abandoned her plans to move to the West Coast and came to Rochester to study Periodontics at Eastman Dental Center. Additionally, she received a training grant from NIDR for masters training at the University of Rochester. This grant was awarded to select students throughout the country in order to educate scientists, teachers, and researchers in dentistry.
Dr Lowenguth enjoys travel and has been almost around the world. She hopes to visit every continent and as many countries as possible, as she loves to learn about people and their culture. For relaxation, she enjoys time with good friends and family, reading nonfiction, cycling and running.
Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Dr. Infantino attended college and dental school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He received his graduate training at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Medicine and Dentistry, and received a Certificate in Periodontology.
Dr. Infantino has been in full-time private practice in Rochester for over 40 years. His knowledge and expertise in the field of Periodontics and implant dentistry is well respected by Western New York Dentists.
Dr. Infantino is a native Rochesterian and has a vast knowledge of Rochester history, culture and lifestyles.Patients, friends, colleagues and graduate students love to hear Dr. Infantinos take on history and life.

Additionally, Dr. Infantino enjoys sports, music and is an avid golfer who has won many area and state golf tournaments throughout his career. At one point, had he not loved dentistry as much as he does, he could have entered the Pro Golfing world.
Dr. Shang is originally from Montreal, Canada. She graduated from the prestigious five-year combined preparatory BS and DMD Program at McGill University. During dental school, Dr. Shang was the recipient of the Outstanding Student Award in Periodontics from the American Academy of Periodontology.
Following her graduation, Dr. Shang relocated to Rochester to further pursue studies in Advanced Education in General Dentistry followed by an additional three years of specialty training in Periodontics and Implant surgery at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health.
Dr. Shang is currently a double-board certified periodontist in US and Canada. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology as well as a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Shang is fluent in English, French, and Chinese.
Dr. Shang also contributes her time to teaching dentists as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Periodontics at Eastman Institute for Oral Health.In her spare time, Dr. Shang enjoys traveling, cooking, and discovering local restaurants
Dr. David Fraser is a native of Montana and has lived in Rochester since 2014. He received his dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco, graduating with honors in periodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. Fraser completed his periodontal residency and a Masters degree in dental science at the University of Rochester. He has received multiple awards for his research and teaching.
In addition to his surgical responsibilities at ROC Perio, Dr. Fraser is a Professor at the University of Rochester, teaching in the periodontics program and researching dental implants and periodontal stem cells.
Dr. Fraser is board certified. He is active in both the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Academy of Dental Research. While his work in the laboratory includes regrowth teeth and bone, Dr. David Fraser has a deep passion for helping his patients keep their natural teeth, and establishing a lifelong plan for periodontal health.

In August 2022, I had pinhole surgery performed Dr. Roxanne Lowenguth and her staff at ROC Perio & Implants. Dr. Lowenguth was highly recommended by my dentist to perform this surgery. Dr. Lowenguth did an excellent job performing the pinhole surgery, and she has a great supporting staff who are knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. I am extremely pleased with the results, and I highly recommend anyone considering pinhole surgery to consult Dr. Roxanne Lowenguth.

Dr. Lowenguth and her staff "ROC" with professionalism, expertise, talent and compassion. If you've ever had an implant then you know it's just 'awful'. My implant was a front tooth so I was very anxious and nervous especially about the outcome. Sensing this, Dr Lowenguth looked at me and said, "We got this!" putting me totally at ease. From day one I was in great hands and today I have my smile back. I highly recommend Dr. Lowenguth and her staff to anyone. Believe me, you won't be disappointed in the experience and the outcome.

I am a very satisfied patient of Dr. Shang I came in with symptoms of periodontal disease and was very concerned about my prognosis. My primary dentist recommended Dr. Shang, because he thought my issues were so severe that I needed to see a specialist. I feared that I may need surgery or even lose teeth. After a few de-scaling procedures with Dr. Shang and sticking to her recommended treatment plan (and of course following her excellent advice regarding home care) my gums are much, much, much better. I no longer experience bleeding or inflammation and feel very comfortable regarding my oral hygiene. Thank you so much Dr. Shang! Also a shout out to the very friendly, courteous, and professional staff at ROC Perio. What a great group of people! I feel very fortunate that I was recommended to ROC Perio and not some other place.

I dreaded going in to have my right lower second molar pulled. I couldn't get an appointment with Dr Lowenguth, and didn't know the doctor I was scheduled with. Then I met Dr Ke Shang! She put me at ease, numbed me up and had that tooth out in no time! Faster and with less trauma than anyone who ever pulled one of my teeth! (And Dr Lowenguth was very good!) I would recommend Roc Perio to my children.

Dr. Lowenguth is THE best Periodontist specialist in Rochester area! She performed a complex surgery last week that went very well. The recovery is going very well and there is no major swelling. She is very compassionate and really cares about her patients dental health. I highly recommend Dr. Lowenguth and her team to everyone who needs periodontal care (this concerns your gums :)!

I had a gingival graft done by Dr. Shang earlier this year. She thoroughly explained all the pros and cons of having the graft, and did a great job making sure I was comfortable during the actual procedure. I am very happy with the result. All the staff and doctors at RocPerio are very courteous and friendly, and the office is space is beautiful, clean and modern.

Love Dr. Roxanne Lowenguth, who did an implant for me. Efficient, effective, great relationship skills. Never had pain or issues beyond the medication provided, and it healed right away. Was informed what would happen, at every step. Even recommended a homeopathic after-care oral rinse product, in addition to other medications, which I may continue to use! Thank you ROC Perio and Dr. Lowenguth!

Dr.Lowenguth and her staff redefine what it means to receive dental care. I came to ROC Perio after a bad experience with a gum graft at a different dental group in the Buffalo area; the gum graft failed and the surgeon could not explain why but still wanted to perform another surgery on me. I did not feel comfortable continuing care at this location and sought out a new provider. I had a family member who had received treatment from Dr.Shang at ROC Perio and had a fantastic experience. From my first visit, I knew I was in capable hands. The office is pristine, the administrative staff worked with me to answer all my insurance-related questions (and I had a lot!), and every dental assistant I worked with was kind, professional, and informative. Dr.Lowenguth is masterful at what she does, which is like plastic surgery in your mouth. Beyond her skill, she was welcoming, caring, and explained my care plan to me at every step of the way. She even shared her personal phone number with me after my surgery and told me to contact her if I had any questions or concerns during recovery. Dr.Lowenguth and her team not only performed a successful gum graft, but gave me the information and tools needed to maintain my dental health for the long term while treating me with the utmost kindness and care along the way. I will not go anywhere else for my periodontic needs!

My 8 year old son walked in for his appointment and thought we were in a Five Star Hotel. Dr. Lowenguth was very pleasant and honest with us. We did not feel rushed during our visit with her. He had an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!
