Review of the dental office of Robert S. Hutner, Robert S. Hutner, D.M.D. Let's face it: people fear the dentist. It's understandable - the drill, shots, nerves...pain. There's no way around those, but there are varying degrees of discomfort. A capable dentist will eliminate some degree of displeasure by simple aptitude. But much of our trepidation has to do with anticipation. And that's where a dentist's chairside manner comes in. Dr. Hutner is very easygoing. His soft-spoken words immediately relieve a good chunk of your worry. He doesn't just talk to you about your teeth but engages you on a variety of topics which might interest you. In fact, he lets you take the lead on dialog. I found out early on that Dr. Hutner shares my love of architecture, so we engage on that. I suggest buildings he should see in person or online, and he has some tips of his own. Who doesn't feel relaxed with someone who shares his interest? And who doesn't appreciate someone who finds a topic of discussion both of them can enjoy? No one. Conversation is all about connection, and once you connect, you can open up. When it is the dentist you're connecting with, your barrier between your defenses and the dentist's trust come down very much. Doctor Hutner is that rare medical professional who is not just about technique but about the whole experience. Your teeth will be better, and you will feel better. In addition, Dr. Hutner also takes a little extra time to dispense advice. My friend, Hugh, told me about a wonder drug called Tideglusib, that miraculously grows back teeth. I asked Dr. Hutner, who said that the treatment is still in trials. He warned me about eating popcorn, as the kernels might break or chip teeth if your not careful. Other hard food can do this too. Advising me on a more careful way to floss so as not to risk damage to weakened teeth was also on the menu. Mohammed is a very thorough hygienist, and An, Stephanie, Natalie, and all the staff are helpful and thoughtful.

As a health care professional, I am quite particular about whom I choose for my own care. Dr. Hutner has a pleasant demeanor, is caring and is attentive to my needs and to the needs of my wife. The atmosphere in his office is just what we like given the tendency for practices to grow into "overly large operations" these days. I have referred a number of friends to him and they are all very pleased with the care Dr Hutner provides. Barry Briss

Dr. Hutner was pleasant, but unfortunately their billing department is a mess. They said I was all set and fully covered by insurance at the time, but never got my insurance information (verbatim "all set, it's covered by insurance" ) and they waited a full calendar year to bill. I've since got a new job, finding insurance information from over a year ago was a huge hassle. They did not apologize for wasting my time or even acknowledge how badly they dropped the ball. They just said they were "cleaning out old bills and found mine". I'm sorry, what? If you wait a year to bill, it's on you. I'm just baffled. Don't waste your time on somewhere that doesn't know how to properly (in the same calendar year) bill patients.

Dr. Hutner and his staff are excellent! I made my first appointment for a cleaning in February 2020 and was very impressed with Dr. Hutner and his staff. He was very upfront and honest about my teeth and was able to address an issue I had while I was getting my cleaning done. Also, he did my first cleaning as a new patient to the practice. COVID-19 Procedures: I decided to keep my cleaning appointment during this pandemic. I received a detailed email from Dr. Hutner's office prior to my visit about COVID-19 procedures. I had to call 3 days ahead and answer a pre-covid screening (which took less than 2 mins) and on the day of my appointment, I was asked to call before entering the building to make sure it was okay to come in or if I had to wait outside until they were ready for me. When I got into the office, they took my temperature and brought me straight to the treatment room. The staff has done an excellent job of making sure patients are being cared for and everyone is protected. My dental hygienist was efficient and thorough. Dr. Hutner was able to address some of my concerns about a tooth that was bothering me and offered options that were honest and thoughtful. It's always a pleasure seeing Dr. Hutner and his staff and I look forward to my next cleaning.

Dr. Hunter and his staff are all very courteous and professional. I never was concerned from the first day with Dr. Hunter with a lot of different dental work I needed done. He takes pride in his work and I know I will never have to think about another dentist again. Highly recommended to anybody that like fast work and amazing quality. Always keeps me in the loop. Thank you!
