Dr. Robert J. Sankers interest in dentistry and passion for patient care stems from his father, who was a Prosthodontist and educator at the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. After receiving his Biology degree with high honors from Bucknell University in 1979, Dr. Sanker completed his dental training at Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1983. He continued with postdoctorate studies at the Medical College of Virginia(Virginia Commonwealth University) in Richmond and, in 1985, became a Specialist in Prosthodontics. Before entering private practice in Rockville in 1987, Dr. Sanker was a clinical instructor at the University of Maryland College of Dentistry. In 2009, Dr. Sanker rejoined the Dean's Faculty at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry as a Clinical Instructor. Dr.Sanker is also active in the community providing unprivileged and new immigrants professional care.
With interests in esthetic, implant and reconstructive dentistry, Dr. Sanker began his dental implant training in 1985 when the Swedish Branemark System of oral reconstruction was first introduced in the United States. Subsequent studies include the completion of specialized courses at the Hornbrook Groups Center for Advanced Clinical Education. Dr.Sanker continues to study and research advances in digital dentistry and the safety of dental materials. Dr. Sanker attends numerous continuous education programs on a regular basis.
For the past 15 years, Dr. Sanker was voted by his peers as one of the top Prosthodontists in Washingtonian Magazine. As the president of the Rockville Dental Study Club, Dr. Sanker helped educate many of his peers. He is a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, American College of Prosthodontics, Maryland State Dental Association, Southern Maryland Dental Society, and Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity.
Dr. Sanker resides in Rockville with his wife of 34 years who has a background in dental hygiene and medical practice management. His two daughters both graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park and they work in the DC area. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, swimming, boating, fishing, pickleball, and spending time with his family and dog, Zoe.

Daisys career in the dental field impressively spans over 45 years so far, with the last few spent here in our Rockville office. Her education in oral healthcare actually comes from a very unique place an Adult Education School on a military base in West Germany! What she enjoys most about her work today is the wonderful patients she interacts with.
Luisa first joined Dr. Sankers team a little over five years ago, and she has 35+ years of experience in the dental field overall! After studying at the University of the East, she attended the National University College of Dentistry. Today, she is an Expanded Function Dental Assistant and a Dental Radiation Technologist. She loves the feeling of seeing each patient happy and satisfied with their brand-new restorations!
Leila is originally from right here in Rockville, and she studied at both Far Eastern University and Manila Central University. Today, her dental career spans over 30 years, with the last handful of them spent as part of Dr. Rockvilles team. She has undergone training in a number of different technologies and clinical techniques, including the 3Shape Trios Intraoral Scanner and DEXIS Digital X-ray Imaging. What she likes most about her job is working with such a dedicated doctor who respects his patients and team members so much.
Leila and her husband have been married for well over 30 years, and they have two daughters who work as a nurse and an IT tech. Outside of work, her favorite hobbies include cooking, shopping, singing at karaoke, and traveling together with her family. She loves being adventurous but is terrified of heights!
Originally from Clarksburg, WV, Heather completed her Bachelor of Science at West Virginia University. Today, her career in the oral healthcare field covers well over 25 years, with most of that time spent right here at Dr. Sankers office. Her favorite part of this job is being able to help patients regain the health they deserve!
Whenever she has free time outside of the office, Heathers favorite hobbies include cooking, crocheting, reading, biking, walking, and going to Bible studies. She also just learned to paddle board this year and absolutely loves it.
