Hello! I am Dr. Rob McArthur, and I want to welcome you to our Family,Cosmetic and Sedation Dental Practice here in Snow Hill! I received my Bachelor of Science in 1973 from UNC and subsequently, graduated with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the UNC- School of Dentistry with honors in 1977. I was selected into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honorary Society. I received a Certificate in Advanced General Dentistry at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA in 1978 where I received extra training in various specialties including IV sedation. I proudly served for 5 years with the US Navy Dental Corps as a LCDR serving aboard the USS Canopus AS-34 and the Dental Center in Charleston, SC until 1982. My wife, Paula and I decided that investing in peoples lives in private practice would best fulfill my passion for serving patients of all ages. I came to Snow Hill, NC in August 1982 and purchased the practice of the late Dr. Jim Curfman. Serving here has enabled me to treat people with compassion and skill in a field that I really love that motivates me!
I have been married to my best friend Paula since 1977 and we live in Snow Hill. Weve had the privilege of being blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, Kristen M. Bartholomew, RDH, and Lori M. Allen, Attorney at Law. I am also a disciple of Jesus Christ and have had the privilege of serving as an Elder and Housechurch Leader at Grace Fellowship Church, in Kinston since 1994. Im an avid learner and I enjoy reading, exercising and watching sports. Over the years, I have been active in civic and local organizations such as the Rotary Club, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, etc. I am a member of the American Dental Association, NC Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Tar River Dental Study Club and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology.
I look forward to meeting and serving you and your family! Ill do my best to care for you and make your experience as exceptional and painless as possible! We welcome my son in law, Dr. Whit Bartholomew, and his wife, Kristen (my daughter), RDH, to our practice as well!
Dr.Whit Bartholomew joined our team in June 2015. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from NC State in 2004 and is a recent DDS graduate (Class of 2015) of UNC School of Dentistry. 'Dr. Whit' is Dr. Rob 's son-in-law and is married to his oldest daughter, Kristen, who also joined our team in June 2015. Dr. Whit is very excited to join the team and serve the Snow Hill and surrounding communities. He is an avid outdoor sportsman and a big time college and professional sports fan. Dr. Whit is a member of the American Dental Association, NC Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and Tar River Dental Study Club.
Hello! We work with Dr. Rob and Dr. Whit to provide you with the best possible dental care by explaining procedures, comforting you, giving you follow-up instructions following dental care and by assisting Dr. Rob and Dr. Whit with the dental procedures performed. We have undergone formal training and also maintain additional training during each year to stay current with procedures. We are available to assist you in any way possible to make your visit exceptional!
Hello! We welcome you and often begin your treatment by serving you in cleaning your teeth with a dental prophylaxis and caring for your mouth! WE want to help you brighten your existing smile, regain health and vitality to your teeth and gum tissues, and explain any disease issues that you may have. Well take digital xrays to help Dr. Rob and Dr. Whit in making diagnoses of decay and periodontal problems that you may have as well. Our xrays are the least amount of radiation used in all of the health care professionso feel safe! In addition, we are diligent about our sterilization procedures for all instruments used! We want to make your visit exceptional too!

This is the best Dentist office I have ever experienced. Service is excellent, staff is friendly knowledgeable and the atmosphere is amazing. Dr. Whit makes sure you are comfortable and satisfied. He even checks on you afterwards to make sure you are doing well after any procedure. I would recommend them to anyone needing dental care!

The staff is supurb I couldn't couldn't even remember my dental insurance info.I was in that much distress they found my information while I was in for repairs to remove that beast out of my mouth two hours later and a birage of tools im into the healing process thanks Doctor and nurse I can see clearly now without being in pain Thank you both....

So thankful to be a new patient here. My husband and I were welcomed and made to feel right at home. The facilities are so clean, bright and modern. The dental work we had done was handled with both efficiency and compassion. Every member of the staff is just great...really nice, kind people.

Dr. Rob is a legend in dentistry. His staff is so friendly and his office so cool looking because it's a huge triangle. If I ever have a dental emergency, Dr. Rob is who i always go see. He is probably the greatest dentist in the entire world. Hes that good. I'll put it to you like this.... hes the Michael Jordan of dentist.

Words cannot explain how grateful my family and I are that we found this place. Dr. Rob and Dr. Whit have kept the family values that I grew up with. The fact that THEY call you (not a staff member but them) after you have work done. My 2 yr old daughter had her first ever visit and a few days later, we received a hand written "thank you" card. You just cant find values like that anymore. I will keep going there until they close the doors.

Dr whit is a wonderful dentist and all the staff is great. I had dental work done a few days before Christmas and the office was closed the following week but he wanted me to meet him on that Monday to check my mouth. He also text several times during the two weeks they were closed. My whole family go to this office we love dr rob also.

I had to have an emergency root canal. The office staff was very gracious in getting me in during the pandemic. Dr. McArthur was an excellent dentist to perform this procedure. I absolutely did NOT feel anything and could have taken a short nap. I have never had a root canal done before and I was feeling a little uneasy. But talking to him and his assistant about it. I was more relaxed and it ended up being a breeze.

I would highly recommend going to this place to get any dental work done. Dr. Bartholomew was the best dentist I've probably ever had in my 24 years of life everyone there is so caring and they treat you like family and the overall care about you. I got my tooth pulled yesterday which isn't the best experience overall in general at any dental office but they helped me get through it with my anxiety. I definitely plan on going back for any other dental needs I have and I plan on getting my daughter to go there also. If you want a dentist that really cares about how you feel I would suggest going here, so thank you for everyone that works there. Y'all are the best

Dr. Rob and his staff was a lifesaver. I called his office because I needed an emergency appointment because my tooth had broken off in the front of my mouth prior to an interview today. I immediately called Dr. Rob's office and he repaired my tooth and I was good to go. I felt no pain at all whatsoever during the time he repaired my tooth or afterwards . All the staff are extremely nice and helpful. Dr. Rob has excellent bedside manners and really care about his patients. He does excellent work and takes pride in his work. I am happy to have his office as my dentist office. Also Dr. Rob checked on me later on personally to ensure I was doing okay. I felt that was exceptional and going the extra mile. I highly recommend this dentist office to anyone. I promise that you will not be disappointed. The best dental care I have ever received! Dr. Whit is wonderful also.

Dr Rob and his staff were AMAZING for my 3 year olds first experience at the dentist when he had a chipped tooth repaired. I was blown away with how great he and his staff were with my son, he was so proud of himself! Best dentist around!!
