Doctor Robert Keating grew up in Ventura, attending Saint Bonaventure High School. He received his bachelor degree in Biology from UCLA and then attended Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class and was elected to Omicron Kappa Upilson National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Keating returned to California for his post graduate General Practice Residency at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, where he met his wife to be, Callie. After serving with the United States Public Health Service for two years, Dr. Keating returned to his beloved home here in Ventura County and went into private practice in Oxnard. He recently relocated his practice to Ventura to be closer to his home.
Dr. Keating is dedicated to providing outstanding, state-of-the-art care for his patients and has demonstrated that by attending over 1,000 hours of continuing education courses including International Academy of Gnathology study clubs, Comprehensive Esthetic Residency and Advance Fixed Prosthetics Residency both mentored by Dr. Bruce Crispin and two different Endodontic Residency taught by Dr. Cliff Ruddle and Dr. L. Steven Buchanan, all world renowned experts in their fields. He has been named a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry for his dedication to continuing education. Dr. Keating is also a life member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society and a past member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Keating is active in the local community and belongs to the Ventura South Rotary Club, the Mountain Bike Unit of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and Our Lady of the Assumption Church where he is active in the music ministry. He and his wife, Callie have two children, both recent college grads. Dr. Keatingis an avid mountain biker, an amateur (Ham) radio operator, enjoys jogging, camping with his wife, fishing and playing the guitar.

I have only had positive experiences with Dr. Keating and his staff. They are friendly, thorough and always considerate of my time in the office. The office itself is warm, clean and neat, and I love that I can quickly book my next cleaning appointment on my way out. The bonus goodie bag with dental items is a treat! I LOVE the toothbrushes they give you at each cleaning, they're my favorite! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a dentist in the Ventura area!

I have been a patient of Dr. Keating for 6 years. Dr. Keating is an outstanding dentist, and shows genuine care for his patients. His dental skills are the best I have ever had. Also, his staff is excellent. They are helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

My wife and I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Robert Keating as our dentist. He is an excellent dentist and very courteous. Even though we have used the services of a few dentists in Santa Barbara in the past, we prefer to take a trip to Ventura to see him for our dental work. He is trust worthy and a true professional. He is the best dentist I have ever known Thanks!

Dr. Keating and his his staff is one of the best dentist I have been to in my life, we started seeing him over 5 year years ago and been very happy with all his work. The staff is very professional and will advise a dental plan for you but won't push you on it, just keep seeing you until you're able to proceed to get the perfect teeth.

I just had a cavity filled about 30 minutes ago, my first (if my memory serves me) in over 10 years. Throughout the procedure, I was asked how I was doing and provided the guidance to raise my left hand if I felt discomfort at any point in time (which I didn't). Dr. Keating has a calm and soothing voice, explaining key points of the process along the way, which together makes everything much more relaxing. I was so relaxed throughout the procedure; I came close to falling asleep! I have been Dr. Keating's patient for many years and some of the key things I point out when recommending him to others is: (1) He is the best dentist I have ever had; (2) when you walk in his office, you are greeted with a warm smile (typically greeted by name) as well as a warm, comfortable, and welcome waiting room with a nice selection of magazines; (3) you are taken within minutes of your scheduled appointment to a chair in the back to be worked on promptly (your time is as important as theirs - imagine that); (4) the office spaces are very clean (and I am a bit obsessive compulsive about germs); and (5) office spaces are bright with the one I was in today offering a pleasant view of a beautiful tree. Under Dr. Keating's care, I have had fillings (all invisible to the naked eye because they are not metal, they match the color of my teeth perfectly), I have had a crown, and I have had some bonding (I don't know the technical term) where my tooth enamel was worn away and is now filled to make the tooth less sensitive and to make for a much healthier looking set of teeth. I also have had my teeth whitened, which definitely results in a much lovelier smile. Over the years I have been extremely happy with my dental care as well as complimented on my teeth and I owe it to the great care I have received over the years from Dr. Keating, Monica (my dental hygienist), and the rest of his staff!
