I have been a patient of doctor Reese for a very long time (at least 14 years) and he did a lot of dental work starting with multiple fillings, crowns, 2 bridges and 3 implants.. you name it. Great professional with integrity and incredible experience you can trust. His office is conveniently located in the heart of La Jolla. Highly recommend!

Dr. Robert Reese is an excellent Dentist, I highly recommend him to anyone needing any type of dental work, as well as for your dental cleaning. He is a very genuine person, really gives a one on one personal attention to each of his patients and his workmanship is beyond amazing. He really cares about the well-being of his patients and his prices are well below what other dentist in the area charge. The rest of his staff is super friendly and they are all very professional. I had a dental procedure that I needed to have done. I was very unhappy with my dentist and wanted to find a new dentist. I called his office after finding him on the BBB website. Allie the receptionist was super friendly and super nice. She scheduled me a free appointment in order for me to meet Dr Reese and have an opportunity to get to know him. During my appointment Dr Reese was very friendly and very professional and I really felt very comfortable and chose to switch dentist. I scheduled my appointment and he did my dental procedure. He was great and his workmanship was amazing. He also is such a nice person. It was really a pleasurable experience . I highly recommend him.

Dr. Rees is a great dentist and is very skilled which is why I'm giving him 3 stars. However, I strongly believe that he false diagnoses and promotes treatments not that are necessary but give him extra income. I eat pretty healthy and I'm consistent with my dental hygiene. When I was going here in my mid 20s for several years, he claimed I had cavities every single time so my mouth is full of fillings that I don't believe were necessary. Once I suspected this, I got a second opinion (which I had to pay out of pocket at a different dentist) and she confirmed that my teeth were fine and that I didn't have the diagnosed cavity. Further, this office adds in fluoride rinses which cost about $30-40 for a small cup that you swish in your mouth. He strongly recommended that I do a laser cleaning which was about $80 a quadrant if I recall correctly (4 quadrants = $320) that was not necessary; I study oral bacteria for a living so I know this wasn't necessary for oral cavities. When I denied this, I could sense frustration and he was a bit more forceful during the rest of the procedure. All in all, Dr. Rees is a highly skilled dentist and if you know exactly what you need and/or have disposable income and/or have an insanely good policy that covers everything then go to him. If you have an ok policy but have to pay out of pocket or don't want extra procedures you don't need, I would recommend not having him as your dentist. i was pretty frustrated after realizing the situation and initially gave 2 stars but realized he was indeed very skilled and I've only had few complications with his work that he fixed (for the most part) in followup visits so that deserves a 3. I got a wisdom tooth removed here and he did a great job with very little recovery on my end necessary. That should be factored in as well.

Today is the day my disappointment reached a new level. Dr. Rees and his staff are extremely friendly so it was difficult for me not to go back at first. My mistake. 3 years ago I went to see Dr. Rees because one of my fillings had fallen. That's it. All I needed was a replacement filling. I couldn't help but notice that his hands were very shaky. I didn't worry much at first but after refilling the tooth I started to have pain on the same tooth he refilled and the pain never subsided. I went back the next day and he told me I needed a root canal. I immediately thought that was a result of his shaky hands over exposing the nerves/roots of my tooth. I figured "oh well, it doesn't matter what caused it at this point, I need to get a root canal". So I agreed to have it done with him and after 2 hours of anesthesia nightmares, he finally got the root canal "done". My tooth was always sensitive after that and never fully recovered. Fast forward about 3 years, after seeing a different dentist for a check up, I was told I had an infection growing under my root canal (yes, the one Dr. Rees had done) and needed to see an endodontist. So I had that tooth retreated today and after all done the doctor told me that the original dentist that had done my root canal (Dr. Rees) had left a piece of COTTON inside my tooth!! No wonder I had been having sensitivity and infection issues!! I'm livid! I added my x-ray for reference. I also intend to report him to all boards he is associated with.

I was told here that I needed a $900 porcelain crown. I went to a different dentist in Clairemont, and was told that a crown was completely unnecessary and nothing is needed. I recommend going elsewhere.

Have you ever been in a car accident, beying injured and you could not work for few good weeks and beying wondering how you will pay the bills? Well I've been in this situation for the last 2 weeks and yesterday when I showed up at my dentist check up and cleaning of my teeth appointment I was in tears of gratitude when dr. Robert Rees did not charged me anything in the end for my dentist session/treatment. I was, still am actually in tears of gratitude for dr. Robert REES who deeply understood my financial concern and without me asking for anything/any favors he gave everything back to me. He did not charged me a dime. My Love and Gratitude for Dr. Robert Rees and the dental technician Moses and the whole team at his office. My hats off to all of them. And if course I will be back and referring dr. Robert Rees to all my friends

I have been Dr Rees`s patient for the past two years. He is a really good dentist/endo/oral surgent. I had 5 onlays, 2 fillings, 1 root canal and 1 implant done with Dr Rees. He did great job on all of those procedures. Prices are reasonable. I have compared Dr Rees with other dentists and got second opinions but always came back. I prefer Dr Rees over previous dentists I had or the ones I had second opinion with. Dr Rees is honest, usually I ask to check on the tooth myself. During cleanings and check ups he doesn't try to push more services like other dentists and tells you whether or not a procedure can wait for another year or so or not. He is further away from where I live and work but once you find a good dentist its worth commuting. My friend referred me to him two years ago she did all her onlays, fillings and three implants done with Dr Rees and all were successful. I refer Dr Rees to my coworkers and friends. Moses is also great. They are very friendly which is a plus.

Dr. Rees does his work with compassion. I had a local infection on my molar, my right gum was swollen and I have no commercial dental insurance. Dr. Rees still checked my tooth for free and prescribed me an antibiotic which helped my infection. Dr. Rees is a good dentist with a good heart. Always thankful and grateful. Rowena
