RJ Dental was established in 2005 with a mission statement: 'Treating your Oral Health in Relation to your Overall Health.' I want my patients to understand the CONNECTION between their Oral Health and their Overall Health. A disease mouth including multiple missing teeth, misaligned teeth have been shown to lead or contribute to Heart disease, diabetes, improper digestion of food just to name a few.
Dr. Buffong has always emphasized the importance of creating a dental practice that stresses relaxation, comfort and integrity. 'Most important to me is my patients ' understanding and education about the dental procedures that they are undergoing. I believe that an educated patient will make the correct decision about their dental health whether its implants, crown and bridge or Invisalign treatment.
Dr. Buffong is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), a member of the Bergen County Dental Association, The Bergen County Implant Study Club, The New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA) and a founding member of North East Regional Dental Society (NERDS).
Dr. Buffong is continually expanding his knowledge of advances in dentistry with seminars held locally and throughout the world including his most recent Implant Global Conference held in the French Riviera, France, International Congress on Implantology in Las Vegas, where he qualified for his Fellowship in Implantology. Dr. Buffong has found a niche in preforming full mouth reconstructions and applying cosmetic dentistry to each procedure. Dr.Buffong is an Invisalign Preferred Provider and has successfully performed many difficult Invisalign cases. Dr. Buffong also places implants for missing areas and for implant supported dentures.
RJ Dental and Dr. Buffong has also conducted numerous dental screenings / Oral hygiene demonstrations and dental education in numerous Schools, Churches and Community sponsored events for many years, including international missionary trips: Jamaica, St Vincent & Grenadines with Health Care International.
I was born on the small nature island of Dominica in the Caribbean, where I believe that when you are fortunate and bless, it is import to give back to the communities that have supported you and to the less fortunate in underserved areas.
Ms. Yvette Salon is a graduate of UMDNJ- Dental hygiene school with degrees in Science, Liberal arts and Dental Hygiene. Ms. Salon has over ten years of experience as a dental hygienist and continues to attend continuing education classes throughout the years.
Removable dentures (partial and complete) have been a staple of dental care for decades. One of the most common complaints about dentures - and lower dentures in particular - is that they are difficult to keep in place. Fortunately, with the advanced is dental implant technology, we not only use implants to replace missing teeth, but we can use implants to anchor on dentures. Hence, a denture that is held in place (entirely or in part) by dental implants is known as an implant denture.
An implant denture is a regular denture that has special attachments built in which allow it to connect to dental implants below. A common example is to use two dental implants in the bottom jaw in the area of where each of the canines ('eye-teeth') would be. The denture is then made to snap on to these two dental implants.
The advantages of an implant denture include significantly increased stability compared to a denture that's not retained by implants. And because implant dentures fit securely in place, patients are much more comfortable speaking, smiling and eating, as there is very little chance that a properly fit implant denture will come out of the mouth.
The disadvantages of having an implant denture fabricated is the time needed to have the implants placed and have the implants osseointegrate (heal), as well as the cost of the implants and the expense of having the denture designed to work with dental implants. That being said, if you consider the time people spend with relines, denture adhesives, and with the frustrations that go with a lower complete denture, the benefit of having an implant denture greatly outweighs the disadvantage that is the cost.
As with dental implants that are used to replace single or multiple natural teeth, one of the key determining factors of whether or not someone is a dental implant candidate is the amount of bone they have remaining. Because patients who are long-term lower denture wearers tend to have significant bone loss (hence the inability of the denture to fit well), it's critical to have an evaluation sooner rather than later to see if enough bone is present. Bone resorbs over the years, and the longer that someone waits to have potential implants place, the greater the chance is that they might not have enough bone to support the implant. Of course, in cases where there isn't adequate bone, we are sometimes able to add bone in a procedure called a bone graft.

The dentists here are amazing!! I have had all my dental work here for about the last 7 years. The receptionist keeps changing which I don't like, but they are always friendly. My job has changed insurance like 5 times in those 7 years and this dental office has accepted all of my insurances. I highly recommend them!

Showed up not once, but TWICE, and received no service. The first time I showed up and was told there was no record of my appointment although I had received double confirmation both via text and email. Ok chalk it up to communication error, technology malfunction. Since I was already there I figured I'd make the appointment in person to clear up any confusion, filled out all of my paperwork and provided my insurance, see you Monday! Monday arrives, I showed up for my appointment to meet a locked door and a voice through a box telling me they are closed and that they tried to contact me but were unable to reach me. For three days. Ridiculous waste of time.

This is by far the best dentist I have been to. The staff and person who had worked on my teeth were very friendly. I would recommend this dentistry to others. I'm so upset that they are no longer accepting my insurance.. otherwise I would have kept this place as my dentist!

Dr. Buffong was amazing!! Firstly, I do not like visiting the dentist. Secondly, I am Covid-19 paranoid, when I go out ,I am wrapped up like a mummy. But just my luck , a crippling toothache had to happen during these crazy inopportune times. Dr. Buffong and his staff made me feel so comfortable and took all the extra safety measures. I felt so much at ease, I didn't even realize my root canal was done. Thank you Dr. Buffong and staff for squeezing me in at the last minute , easing my fears and making me feel safe and comfortable.

I was referred to Dr. Buffong from a friend and though this is my 2nd visit I'm pleased with the service. With covid 19 we are skeptical about safety protocols. Yet, I can honestly say that I have found a new dental home that I will be sending and referring family and friends. I've gotten a cleaning and started the process of getting my crown and can't wait to go back to get more work done. Not many people look foreword to going to the dentist. Dr. Buffong and his staff make sure you are comfortable and the process is as smooth for any procedure.

This place is great! Went for a routine cleaning and a filling, but this place went above and beyond the call! The cleaning was the BEST cleaning i ever got with any dental place and the dentist himself was so gentle and great! Honestly incredible place! Cant wait to go back (crazy to say!)

Rude staff. Once all of my monies were used from my insurance, all work was stopped and she refused to book anymore appointments until I paid for future work up front. To this day, they still have my replacement tooth. I can't get it unless I pay it off in full. No payment plan options were given. Just rude behavior and greed.

I've been coming to this dentist for about a year. This last time in the mist of the COVID-19 pandemic. They returned my call swiftly and gave me an appointment right away. I probably spent about a half hour in there for my service. The doctor and staff are professional and very informative. I'm glad I made the switch to them. Highly recommended.

I am super scared to of the dentist due to horrible experiences. I am so grateful I found this place! Why I gave 5 stars and will be returning and sending everyone I know. 1. Great staff 2. Clean office 3. He explains everything and no rushing 3. Makes you feel comfortable 4. He pulled my tooth with absolutely no pain and very bare minimum pressure!
