One of the WORST professional experiences of my life!!! Here is what happened: I arrived at their office 30 minutes before my appointment, I figured plenty of time for any pre-requisites. Well apparently not, they delayed my appointment by 30 minutes (so I waited 1 hour in the office) because they couldn't confirm my insurance information and the Doctor was running late with previous patients. To clarify, I provided them with a copy of my insurance card during the live visit as well via phone prior to arriving, and every dentists I have ever visited before has been able to verify my insurance without any issues. But, that's not it, it gets worse.... The doctor then bluntly asked me for $60 after her check-up. I politely asked whether that should covered by my insurance. Instead of explaining or just politely asking me to deal with my insurance, she started yelling at me that she is not able to verify my insurance. She kept yelling and then asked me to leave the room for next patient. I paid money and left -I was shaken, nearly in tears.

the receptionist was rude and the telephone staff doesn't give you full information when you make an appointment. Make sure you remember their "hidden" policies that you may have signed when you first visited them coz they are not going to remind you. I was charged a $50 fee for appointment cancellation within 24 hr window. I wasn't made aware of this policy at the time of cancellation (apparently I signed a document about this policy and I wasn't reminded of this at the time of appointment cancellation) and was simply charged the amount to my account. Read further for full story: I haven't received any confirmation calls 24hrs prior to my appointment either. I tried to dispute but the receptionist refused to agree. I've been a patient since a couple of years now with decent experience so far. However, I went for a visit today and was told by the receptionist that there was a balance due on my account. Wasn't told any details on what the balance was for (It was a usual bi- annual cleanup visit and has no copay). So I asked her what the balance was for. She mentioned that it was for a canceled appointment within the 24 hour window. First of all I wasn't given a call to confirm nor was made aware of this policy at the time of cancellation. It was as if they were simply trying to find an opportunity to charge patients for cancellations without even reminding them about their "hidden" policies. Edit: After reading the reply from the clinic, I'd like to re-iterate that I wasn't reminded of the 24 hr cancellation fee at the time of appointment cancellation unlike what's mentioned in the clinic's reply. The least I would expect is some honesty. Edit: As mentioned in the reply, the doctor called me to assure that this is being addressed and hence decided to change the rating.

Very well organized and professional doctor who cares about patients not just their money like many others, and accomodates the procedures to the needs of even very panicky patients

Dr. Leung is amazing. Her experience and knowledge made my entire root canal experience an excellent one. Will definitely come back for other procedures.

I was having a dental emergency and I called Dr. Leung's office at 6:45pm on a Friday night and she took me in to fix what was wrong (I am not even a regular patient of hers!). Dr. Leung and her son Kevin are wonderful and take patient care seriously. 10/10 would recommend. I will definitely be returning to Riverview Dentistry.
