Dr. Paul Diaz received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1990. He then became a clinical instructor at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry from 1990 to 1992. Dr. Diaz has been in private practice in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, since 1992.
Dr. Diaz is a member of many professional and civic organizations. He has served or is presently serving in offices of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, Alabama Dental Association, Alabama Academy of General Dentistry, American Society for Dental Aesthetics, First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, The Executives of Tuscaloosa, and the YMCA Mens Club of Tuscaloosa.
Dr. Diaz is committed to providing his patients with the most comprehensive and advanced dental care available. Because of this dedication to his patients, he has completed over 2,500 hours of continuing education since graduation from dental school. In 1999, Dr. Diaz was recognized by his peers with fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. To qualify for FAGD status, Dr. Diaz completed a minimum of 500 continuing dental education credit hours, passed a rigorous exam and has served as an AGD member for over twenty years.
In 1999, he was also accepted as a member of the prestigious cosmetic dental organization American Society for Dental Aesthetics. In 2005, he was appointed to the board of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics. In 2011, Dr. Diaz was awarded his Mastership from the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction achieved by less than 1% of general dentists in North America.
In 2016, he was unanimously selected to receive the distinction of fellow of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics, the organizations highest honor. In 2019, Dr.Diazwas invited to join the international honorary dental service organization, The Pierre Fauchard Academy.
In June of 2021, the esteemedAcademy of General Dentistryawarded Dr. Diaz with their Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition (LLSR) award.The LLSR program was specifically designed to shine the spotlight on AGD members like Dr. Diaz who are forever dedicated to remaining up-to-date with all things dentistry and, more importantly, giving back to their community.
Sonya has been working in the dental field for over nine years and has been with Riverview Dental Designs since 2011. She is a graduate of the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program in Birmingham and also has taken continuing education courses in periodontal therapy. We have compassionate doctors and a great team that provide individualized care for each and every one of our patients. Our office is equipped with the most current technology and instrumentation to provide the highest quality of care. I love establishing a relationship with my patients and educating them on how to maintain a healthy and beautiful smile for years to come.
Our dental hygienist, Paulette, received her education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has been in dentistry for almost 32 years most of them spent with Riverview Dental Designs. This practice works to keep up with the technological advancements in dentistry while striving to give our patients the quality care they deserve in a caring and professional manner. I love my patients and knowing that I can play a role in helping them maintain a healthy and beautiful smile for a lifetime.
