I graduated from The West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1990, where I received first-rate training in all aspects of general dentistry. Upon completing my degree, I joined the United States Navy as a Dental Officer. After two years of service with the Navy, I began working as an associate dentist for Dr. Abraham Dekelbaum in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Shortly after my employment in 1993, I acquired the practice from the retiring Dr. Dekelbaum. I am licensed by the Dental Board of Maryland and am a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association and Southern Maryland Dental Society.

I take pleasure in practicing general dentistry because it allows me the opportunity to treat and visit with returning patients. Adult treatment is my main focus in the practice. Restoring and saving teeth is of the utmost importance to me. I have been told on numerous occasions that I have a gentle touch with administering anesthesia.

Although I was born in Washington, D.C., I was raised in the gorgeous mountainous state of West Virginia and am proud to be a Mountaineer! Im still active with WVU Dental School and march in the Alumni Band at Homecomings. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening and am an avid traveler.

My goal is to provide you with the highest quality of care while providing lasting comfort and satisfaction. I enjoy providing customized care and building professional, long-lasting relationships with my patients, leaving them with a big smile. In the practice, I enjoy treating patients of all ages. I particularly enjoy treating pediatric patients.

I grew up in the D.C. metro area and earned a degree, with honors, in biology with a public health minor from James Madison University. During that time, I was an active member of the Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society as well as the JMU Pre-Dental Society where I served as president for a year. In 2013, I graduated from VCU School of Dentistry with several commendations as well as several hours of community service in clinics across Southwest Virginia. To further my education, I completed a year of Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency for Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Upon completion of my residency, I was presented with outstanding service recognition from Lutheran Medical Center. I am a member of the American Dental Association as well as the Academy of General Dentistry.

As a native of the Washington D.C. metro area, my goal is to provide exceptional quality care and service to the area. I believe strongly in continuing education to not only benefit myself, but my patients as well. When not working in dentistry, I enjoy outdoor activities, traveling and socializing with friends and family.

I am passionate about accompanying my patients on their orthodontic journey. I love getting to know my patients, earning their friendship and becoming a positive influence in their lives. A smile is very important. People who are uncomfortable with their smile are often shy and can have difficulties communicating with others. Being an orthodontist gives me the opportunity to help my patients look and feel good enough to express themselves to the world.

I have been practicing orthodontics in the D.C. metro area since 2007, and I excel in identifying and correctly diagnosing orthodontic issues to use the most effective and advanced treatments available. I love making my patients leave with a beautiful new smile!

I am a native of the beautiful Bahamas and proud to be the first dentist in my family. I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry fromAcadia Universityin Nova Scotia, Canada and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery and residency in orthodontics fromHoward University College of Dentistryin Washington, D.C. I am recently and happily married to my husband, Brian, and we look forward to growing our family in the future. When I'm not seeing patients or helping people learn about orthodontics, I enjoy doing Bikram yoga and cooking.
