Dr. Blanchard and the rest of the team strive to create a comfortable environment where our patients can relax and feel good about going to the dentist. With a focus on personalized, patient-centered care, we utilize advanced techniques in our familiar office to ensure everyone that walks through our doors leaves with the healthy, beautiful smile they deserve.
Dr. Blanchard was born and raised in Wisconsin, though he has spent some time living in Colorado and Michigan over the years. As a child, he struggled with his own set of dental problems that later caused deep insecurities and negative experiences in school. His dentist and orthodontist became heroes to the young David Blanchard, as they helped him fix his oral health issues and gave him the gift of a truly confident smile. Their charisma and compassion inspired him to follow in their footsteps and enter the healthcare field himself.
When Dr. Blanchard began work on his B.S. in Medical Microbiology and Immunology and certificate degree in Business Administration at University of Wisconsin-Madison, it was with the intent to become a physician like his father and brother. However, as the MCAT entrance exam grew nearer, a conversation with his former hockey coach, (who also happened to be a dentist) led him to consider dentistry as a career. It wasnt long before he switched gears and headed to University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Dr. Blanchard always wanted to start his own practice so he could care for patients the way he sees fit, rather than trying to please a corporate office. At Riverside Family Dental, he treats every patient like a member of his own family, taking the time to get to know everyone and building meaningful relationships that will last a lifetime.
When hes not in the office, you can find him enjoying the great outdoors, running, fishing, hunting, and biking, or spending time with his wife, Alex, daughter, Gabi, and their two dogs, Maki and Walter.

Riverside family dental is amazing. The entire office staff is friendly, helpful and extremely well organized. Monika is quite seriously the best hygienist I've ever had take care of me. Dr Blanchard's is friendly and really takes the time to explain things. I'm thrilled to have found Riverside.

First time going to the dentist in a long time, because I hate going to the dentist. They were very gentle. They heard what I had to say, and we're very friendly, and explained everything that I have to get done. Staff were also very friendly, and they also have a therapy dog named Walter, for people who hate going to the dentist. They have payment plan options. I look forward to going back, and getting my teeth back to healthy!

Today was my first visit and was very pleased. Abby, dental hygienist, was very experienced, professional, and personable. Dr. Blanchard was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and easy to talk to. Their technology was impressive.

So glad that Riverside Dental is now an in network provider for UHC-AARP. When they were granted "in network"provider status, Dave personally called to tell me the good news. The staff identifies any dental health problems, listens to your concerns and works with you to optimize oral health. Personalized care performed efficiently and professionally.

I had severe dental PTSD -- until I went to Riverside Dental. Walter, the therapy dog, met me at the door. What a handsome and good boy! The reception staff was expecting me, having been made aware of my dental fear in advance. They were welcoming and kept me up to date about a brief wait. Monika could not have been more patient or kind. She listened to my concerns and fears, explained every part of the exam, asked about my well-being and comfort throughout my visit, and gave me permission to stop at any time. She and Dr. Blanchard were very kind, explained what they saw, created a treatment plan, explaining clearly why he recommend those things. All prices were clearly transparent and listed in a quote. I never felt judged at any time. I will absolutely be going back for some treatment and for regular cleanings. If you have had a bad dental experience (or a few), I highly recommend trying them. By word of mouth and recommendations, Dr. Blanchard has created a needed specialty in compassionate dentistry.

Do you enjoy waiting in waiting rooms? Do friendly and approachable staff that operate with candor and kindness make you want to come back? Do you value your time? Do you like it when others value you? Yes - Dr. B, Maddy, David, and Team do al of that. Think talk is cheap? Here's what happened. I walked in and David, at the counter, acknowledged me and invited me to take a seat. I sat for a minute and then I immediately got up as Maddy said they were ready for me. We got one x-ray before Dr. B came in and welcomed me. I was then given relief for my issue - which I truly wasn't expecting and so pleased to have gotten. In a world where patient and customer care seem second to profit... I can honestly say my experience showed Riverside places care and experience first... likely profits will follow. I hope they do.

I haven't been to the dental office for over two years because I have extreme dental anxiety...Monika, my hygienist, made me feel at ease and was attentive to my concerns and problem teeth ...Dr. Blanchard was also very polite and nice and talked me through the exam and made me feel extremely comfortable...I'm glad I made the switch to this small family practice.
