I am pleased to let you know that I love being a dentist because I love taking care of my patients whether it is relieving a toothache in a matter of minutes or enhancing their smile over a lifetime, I take great satisfaction in being able to use my knowledge & skill set to help another person receive the dental care they need or to help them create the smile they have always dreamed of having.

I have been a dentist for several years now and have enhanced my dental education and skill set by taking over50 timesthe amount of post-graduate dental educational courses required by the NM Board of Dentistry to renew a dental license every year. Consequently, I have advanced training in various surgeries including extracting wisdom teeth, placing dental implants to replace missing teeth, doing root canals to fix hurting teeth, and providing simple or complex cosmetic dentistry. I also provide sedation dentistry ranging from light to moderate sedation to help patients feel comfortable during the dental procedures.

On a more personal note, I am married to a wonderful lady and have 4 children who are my everything in life. Some of my hobbies include camping, hiking, fishing, playing sports, working in the yard, watching movies, and sleeping in at least once a month if at all possible. I look forward to meeting you or seeing you again soon and I thank you for getting to know more about me and what I can do for you as a dental patient.

Dr. Montgomery is a native New Mexican dentist who is passionate about making his patients feel comfortable during dental treatment while also providing the highest quality care possible. Dr. Montgomery was born and raised in Alamogordo, New Mexico. During high school he loved to play sports including baseball, basketball, football, and track. After graduating from high school her continued his education attending University of New Mexico (Go Lobos!) where he studied biology and psychology. He attended dental school at Creighton University where he learned the foundations of practicing safe & thorough dentistry. During dental school Dr. Montgomery ran 4 marathons and a 70.3 Ironman and also met the love of his life, Erika, who is now his wonderful wife. Once Erika completed her doctorate of physical therapy and Dr. Montgomery finished his degree in dental surgery they moved back to New Mexico where they have been enjoying all the natural beauties this great state has to offer.

After completing basic dental training from dental school, Dr. Montgomery pursued extensive continuing education courses in advanced dental procedures. He has completed an implant fellowship with NYU-Langone as well as the prestigious 1-year Maxi Course from American Academy of Implant Dentistry in which he was required to pass a difficult test which has certified him as an Affiliate Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He has also completed a Comprehensive Implant Residency Program where he learned many advanced and implant-related surgical procedures. Dr. Montgomery has also taken numerous courses in general dentistry and has received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, which is an accomplishment that only 6% of all general dentists nationwide have received.

Over the years Dr. Montgomery understands that the best way to take care of the patients is to help them feel comfortable with their treatment. He tries to make dentistry easy and simple to understand for all of his patients in order to minimize any anxiety. For any patients needing assistance with eliminating anxiety, Dr. Montgomery is trained and pleased to provide the highest level of IV conscious sedation available to general dental patients making any treatment as easy and stress free as possible. He is looking forward meeting and treating you with the a high level of personalized & modern dental care.

Hi! I am Dr. Wes (Wesley Hanchett, DDS) and I am very happy to be a part of your dental care at Riverpoint Family, Cosmetic, & Implant Dentistry. I am a strong believer in treating my patients the way I would want to receive dental treatment for myself or for my family.

I was born and raised in New Mexico and since a young age, I have wanted to be a dentist. In high school I shadowed dentists as often as I could and even earned the dentistry merit badge as I worked towards becoming an Eagle Scout. In college I was a member in the University of New Mexicos Pre-Dental Society and a founding officer in the UNM student chapter for Public Health Dentistry. I attended a highly ranked dental school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry where I received a great education in dentistry.

I continue to enhance my dental education by taking some of the best post-graduate dental education courses. I also serve as a Captain in the Army National Guard which allows me to obtain additional training in dental surgical procedures. I believe in being honest with and always doing right by my patients and I know that staying up-to-date with advanced dental techniques and procedures will allow me to provide the best dental care to my family and to you and your family.

I am married to my best friend and have 3 beautiful daughters in whom I adore. We love to spend time together as a family. We love to go boating, hiking, play games, watch movies, and work on projects together around the house. I love to garden and be outside. I grew up with horses, donkeys, cows, and many other animals, and had a lot of land to roam. My parents taught me strong values and to work hard to make the world a better place. That is what I strive to do every day.
