Dr. Gehan Girgis After graduating from the Cairo University School of Dentistry in 1984, Dr. Girgis continued her education at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. From there, she graduated in 1991 and has since been practicing in the area for 26 years in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She attends numerous continuing education classes throughout the year and has advanced training for sleep apnea and snoring appliances, laser dentistry, Invisalign, implant restorations and sedation dentistry.Dr. Girgis and her team also enjoy seeing children in the office as it always brightens their day. When we have as little one in our office, the whole world revolves around them, which is why we see children as young as two and a half years old. Dr. Girgis especially enjoys seeing returning patients, some of whom have been clients of hers for over 20 years. Of these patients restorations, the ones placed by Dr. Girgis still look new after 20 years!Dr. Girgis has been married for 33 years and has three children. She enjoys making jewelry, traveling and taking ballroom dance classes. She is also fascinated by the glamor of ancient Egypt and has decorated her office and a part of her home with Egyptian artifacts.Professional Affiliations:

In the last 20 years or so I'd only ever been to the dentist for extreme cases which were 3 root canals. No cleanings, no x-rays, no nothing because of my fear of the dentist. My molars had been breaking over the years and I was just getting tired of my teeth slowly falling out and the discomfort while eating. I saw a recommendation for Dr. Girgis on Nextdoor and took a snapshot of it in the event I would actually go. I was feeling gutsy and scheduled an appt. I had a broken molar and thought I had an abscess and they were able to see me next day. Dr. Girgis was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and so thoughtful. I was looking at a lot of work: cavities, a crown or two, extractions, implants...the works. Today I went in to get 2 cavities filled and an extraction and I was beyond nervous I was shaking and my heart raced as I sat in the chair. But her and her team were beyond compassionate. When I described my dental procedures to my husband, he said it all sounded like a spa experience from how I described it! After 5 years since my last dental visit, and a whole 20+ since regularly seeing a dentist, I can wholeheartedly say I will keep up with seeing Dr. Girgis. She has such a calming demeanor and you just know you're in good hands. Her front desk staff and assistants are all wonderful! As someone who was completely fearful of the dentist, I can honestly say I am excited to start my journey to healthier teeth with Dr. Girgis. I can't thank her enough for her kindness and expertise. Update: I went in for a couple more extractions and after she finished, I had to ask, "wait, it's all done?" One of the things I appreciate most is that she first explains the treatment plan and options and wants your feedback. As a nurse, before any procedure or treatment, I tell my patient everything that I'm going to do and what to expect and it always puts them at ease. Both my appointments started off this way and it calms any nerves and gives you a chance to ask any questions. To see a dentist twice in less than a week - who am I!?

I absolutely love Dr. Girgis! She's the best. I had so much anxiety over the dentist from horrible experiences as a child. She puts my worry's and fears aside and is so gentle and so kind. She filled a small cavity for me today and it took her 10 min. I was in and out. I know not every filling takes this quick, but when I have had to see her for a bigger filling it's so painless and quick.

"Gehan Grigis, DDS and staff are absolutely positively excellent!" Champions of preserving your teeth and enhancing your smile. I couldn't ask for better advocates for my care, who truly care. If you are a soldier, you are in excellent hands, arrive early and receive great care. I am so grateful and pleased with their over and beyond fantastic treatment plan, explanations and care. I have always hated the dentist. Dr. Girgis has BY FAR been the BEST EXPERIENCE I've ever had. I wish I knew about River Square years ago. SUPER gentile. I had an extraction done yesterday.. Didn't feel 1 second of it, have no swelling, just a little sore from holding my jaw open. Still amazed how good I fee right now. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Dr. Girgis and her staff are wonderful! I've been a patient with her since 1994 and I truly feel like I'm part of the family. In the past year Dr. Girgis provided me with Invisalign and I'm so thrilled with the outcome. I highly recommend her services.

The military has been sending me here for my biannual checkups. It is a wonderful place with very friendly staff the moment you arrive. Dr. Girgis is quite knowledgeable and I would trust her with the inside of my mouth. She also entertained my 17 month old. My daughter did not want to leave. 10/10.
