Dr. Richard Valbuena and his wife, Dr. Kelly Joice opened River Rock Family Dental in the summer of 2007. Together they have three children, Kaden, Katelyn and Kylie. In his free time, he can be found spending quality time with his family and helping coach his children in baseball and soccer. Dr. Valbuena enjoys running, cycling, golf and fishing. He is a longtime parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and enjoys volunteering in the community.
Dr. Valbuena completed his undergraduate studies at Northeastern State University with a degree in Biology with a Cellular emphasis. He then continued on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, College of Dentistry in 2003. Since then, he has completed numerous continuing education courses to help ensure that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. Dr. Valbuena trained extensively at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and at the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute. Through his hard work and dedication towards Implant dentistry, he earned a Fellowship with the ICOI.
Dr. Valbuena is continually striving to keep up with the latest techniques and materials, while utilizing state-of -the-art technology to provide his patients with the safest and most effective dental care. He and his staff are prepared to provide their patients with the highest quality dental services available, in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Dr. Kelly Joice earned a double major in Organismal Biology and Psychology from the University of Kansas, before continuing her education at the University of Oklahoma, College of Dentistry. She completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery, with honors, including awards in pediatric and restorative dentistry in 2004. Following graduation, she went on to work in public healthcare with the Indian Health Service in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Joice is continually updating her dental skills and knowledge, and has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education, including certification in Short Term Adult Orthodontics. She is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, the American Dental Association, the Kansas Dental Association and the Douglas County Dental Society.
