Dr. Chris Poe was born and raised in Roseburg, Oregon. He attained his DDS from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He also received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry from Western Oregon University. He has been practicing dentistry in Montrose, Colorado since 2011. Dr. Poe has seen the need for expanded dental services and modern techniques/options from his large mountain community patient base in Ouray and San Miguel counties. Dr. Poe is the same great modern dentist that you have come to know and will now be providing these services in Ridgway.

Dr. Poe performs all aspects of general dentistry. Dr. Poe comes from an extensive background in humanitarian dentistry, which his father exposed him to at a very young age. This has given Dr. Poe a great sense of purpose performing humanitarian aid throughout the world. He continues to stay active in giving back through his dental talents wherever the need may arise, serving all over the world.
Dr. Poe is happily married to his wife Misti and is an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He enjoys spending time skiing, biking, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and everything outdoor that this state has to offer.

Misti was born and raised in the Great NorthwestWashington State to be exact. As our office manager, she will welcome you into the practice with a warm smile and can assist you with all of your dental needs. Misti loves spending time with her husband of 12 years, their daughter Lucy Ellarose and their chocolate lab Kenya. Colorado has been the perfect place for her to live out an outdoor lifestyle of skiing, hiking in the mountains, and paddleboarding on the rivers. Misti also has a passion for interior design, which is evident from the moment you walk into our office!
Olivia was raised in Montrose, Colorado. She always knew she wanted to be in the dental field. After an internship in high school, she knew dental hygiene was the right fit because it allows her to care for others and bring a smile to the patients face! After graduating from Colorado Northwestern Community College she moved back to Montrose, CO. She enjoys spending time with her family outdoors. Olivia also has a crafty side. In her free time she enjoys making crafts for her Etsy shop.New Paragraph
Claire grew up in Durango, Colorado and graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico in 2011. She worked for a private practice in Moab for 6 years and started working with TCHN Skippy Dental Program upon moving to. Telluride in 2017. Claire is currently working on international dental non-profits in Haiti, Ecuador and Nicaragua and is an avid outdoorsman, who enjoys kayaking and rock-climbing!
Kali was born and raised in Montrose, Colorado and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite place to spend free time is at her cabin, where she loves to fish, hike and ride her four wheeler all while taking in the beautiful views! Kali has been in the dental field for over 5 years and is excited to continue growing in the industry.
Mandy spent her childhood growing up here in beautiful Ridgway. She moved to Utah for college and just recently moved back from Colorado Springs with her husband and two dogs. She loves to travel, read and do anything outdoors. Mandy is the friendly voice you hear when calling our office and will greet you with her welcoming smile each time you step through our doors! She is your go-to person for insurance questions or account concerns.

Thank you to Dr. Poe and his team for their excellent dental care. With state-of-the-art dental equipment, Dr. Poe identified the items in my mouth that needed to be addressed. Dr. Poe prioritized the procedures for me so that the process seemed manageable and not overwhelming. Dr. Poe and his team answered all of my many questions and completed all procedures timely. Dr. Poe and his team took care of a root canal, crown, and two fillings for me. I was nervous about the root canal and crown both of which went extremely well. I also appreciated that his office provides same day crowns so I did not need to hassle with a temporary crown. He took the time to tell how the crown was made and even allowed me to view my crown being made! I'm grateful to have found Dr. Poe and his team. They are very professional and caring, and I highly recommend this office!

First appointment with River Peak Dental and had an excellent experience with Dr. Poe and Olivia for regular cleaning. They are extremely nice, professional and very informative. Office is modern and they use only state of the art equipment and practices including ultrasonic cleaning for a very comfortable experience. Highly recommended, thank you!

I had two implants fail with Dr. Poe. He said I must be allergic to titanium, because it couldn't be his fault. I had a second opinion from Dr. Weenig in Grand Junction. Dr. Weenig doubted that I was allergic to titanium and thought I should question Dr. Poe's training and experience. Dr Poe refused to believe me and called me a liar.

Wow, I can't say thank you enough to Dr. Poe & his team at River Peak! After an awful experience at an unnamed dentist in Montrose, my poor hubby was left in excruciating pain with an infected root canal. I spent hours calling around to dentists from delta to ridgway, and was repeatedly told either to wait for an appointment in April or that they wouldn't come in on Friday, even for an emergency. I was so thankful to finally hear a very kind voice willing to help- Mandy up front is awesome!! She helped me get my hubby's records transferred and was very thorough in her explanation. I could tell this was a high quality office before we ever stepped foot in the door. And this was confirmed when I got that "hallelujah" text from my hubby, that he loved this office and was so thankful to be there and be helped. He said Dr. Poe had a great sense of humor and made him comfortable, he could tell he was passionate and amazing at what he does. Seriously nothing but praise for this office. Beyond thankful and no doubt will be back.

I had an accident that destroyed my two front teeth, so I needed bonding, 6 veneers (and possibly a root canal). Dr Poe and the team did a fantastic job and even made me new retainers after. Below is me on Halloween 2 days after they gave me my "new teeth." I had no idea what all went into getting veneers, but it was a full-day process that required a tremendous amount of skill and artistic ability by Dr Poe. I wouldn't trust or believe that most dentists would be capable of creating as great of an outcome as I experienced.

First time here and will be back again and again. I've been having tooth pain for months. Went in for a cleaning and check out the pain. I'm thinking it's an ill adjusted crown. Found an infection so bad that I need and extraction and antibiotics! Care I received was better than any other dentist I've been to; at 55, that's an awful lot of dental care. Shout out to Misti my hygienist; very professional and knowledgeable. I thought she was the dentist at first! Doc Poe; charismatic and thorough. Everything is state of the art! Which is why they found this infection and last dentist had not. Front Desk/support staff; caring, thoughtful. Just AMAZING experience.

This place was awesome! Came into town for a week getaway and my friend had a root canal gone bad and needed his tooth pulled ASAP! Dr. Poe came into the office on a Friday after hours to pull his tooth. He did it promptly and saved our vacation! I can't say how awesome this guy is and how incredible he was to work with, after hours, on a FRIDAY!! If you need dental work in the western slope he is you let man!!

Being relatively new to the area, while flossing my teeth one morning I had a crown come off. I called the office and they made an appointed for me within two hours. Dr. Poe and his staff were unbelievable!! He attached my crown, but wasn't happy with the way it fit. With the amazing array of modern technology in his office, he made a new crown, fitted it perfectly and I was on my way!! What a wonderful experience!

Professional, yet genuinely friendly establishment. Staff does a great job of making me comfortable in a spa-like setting: cozy reception area with internet access, neck warmers at the chair, warm lemongrass cloths for cleaning off the face. Hygenist Ahren is really, really good at cleaning. I'm so glad this office is in my community.

I could not be more pleased than with the care I receive at River Peak Dental. I no longer dread going to the dentist. The staff are all pleasant, professional and competent. Dr. Poe is personable and explains everything in away that you can understand. He ensures that prior to a procedure, every care is taken to alleviate pain and discomfort.

Very friendly staff! Dr. Poe walked me through every step of my appointment and took pictures to show me exactly what was happening and how he was going to address problem areas. I really appreciated that he took the time to show me what was happening while also asking for my input. Also, very comfortable office. During my appointment, I was offered heated neck wraps, blankets, and was able to watch Netflix while in the chair. This made going to the dentist a lot more enjoyable!
