River Hills Dentistry - General dentist in Valrico, FL

Dr. Reid provides cosmetic, family, implant, and general restorative dentistry to all generations. Years of experience, plus continuing education courses, and volunteer dentistry help round his dental knowledge and expertise.

The new ultra modern office is considered paper-less with the complete computerization of both the business office and treatment areas. From the computer for scheduling, digital x-rays, to storing patients records and charts on electronic media for secure and safe storage, diagnostic lasers, patients will quickly notice a difference in this office. Disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and flooding showed the frailty of paper records; tens of thousands of patient records were destroyed.

Electronic media is transportable within minutes and can be automatically backed-up daily for safe keeping. In keeping with these lessons the office has one of the most sophisticated server-based computer systems in any dental facility, secured, and stored off-site.

Both Dr. Reid and the team are amazing! They're all very welcoming and kind. The office is very clean and well put together. I am in and out in 30 minutes for regular routine cleanings (i.e. they're very punctual). I highly recommend this practice/Dr. Reid!

I'm usually really nervous about going to the Dentist, but I heard so many good things about them that I traveled from Georgia to get a second opinion from Dr. Reid after I was told that it would take at least four 2 hour visits to complete my dentist work in Georgia. Dr. Reid took a look and instead I was completely done and fixed in two 90-minute sessions in back-to-back days just in time for college to start back up. I will definitely be coming back again in the future. Additionally, everyone I interacted with was super nice and it helped to calm my dentist nerves and it was the best dentist experience I've ever had.

Ive been a patient of Dr Reid for many years and have always received excellent treatment and care. At 61, I have all of my teeth and I credit the attentive dental care I've received to this. The office staff are always friendly, helpful and professional.

These guys are great! To actually find a dentist that can do tooth extractions without having to send you to another dentist or trying to get a lot of additional work done (I don't have insurance). I needed two teeth pulled Dr. Reid was more than happy to yank em out for me! He even offered to yank both of them out at once! I told Dr. Reid I only wanted them pulled one at a time and I would schedule to get the other tooth yanked the following week and then he broke out a tool box with regular hand tools in it and told me those were the tools he used to yank teeth and the dental tools were for "extractions". So refreshing to find a dentist with a sense of humor! I've found a dentist that I have confidence in and his staff is friendly and professional! Highly recommend checking them out!

I came to Dr Reid because I have trigeminal neuralgia and was in need of a dentist who was knowledgeable in more than the basics. If that's you, this is your man. He is knowledgeable in a wide variety of disease processes and expertly treated me. When you have head or mouth pain it can make you vulnerable. This dentist understands and treats you with kit gloves. I highly recommend him.

Been a patient of Dr. Reid's for over 2 years. From the moment you call to make that first appointment, you are treated with kindness and respect. Dr. Reid's staff is the best I've seen at a dentist office. They really do care about their patients, and it shows! On my first visit, Dr. Reid explained everything without being condescending or patronizing, like other doctors. I suspected I had a gum's issue going in, but Dr. Reid was the only doctor who thoroughly explained how that came to be, and suggested we get on a visit schedule that would help me improve. At that time, everything was explained to me in detail, and an estimate of charges was provided before moving forward, which turned out to be right on point. I also wanted Dr. Reid to recommend a possible orthodontist for braces, and I learned via his staff, that he did fast braces in his office! Now, instead of selling me on the braces right away, Dr. Reid asked me to wait until my gums improved before moving on to braces, which I found honest and caring. Any other doctor would've jumped at the chance to make more $, but not Dr. Reid. He knew that in order for the braces to work successfully, my gums needed to be better first! I knew right then I'd found my dentist! If you are looking for a no-nonsense, caring doctor, who is well versed in all things dental, then Dr. Reid is your man! I've never enjoyed my dentist visits until now. You won't regret it.

Dr. Reid is a rare find, one that truly cares about the health of his patients not how much he can charge them. His staff is friendly and take the time to ensure you understand your treatment plan. Thank you for your exceptional dental care Dr. Reid!

Terribly run business. When I scheduled my first appointment, they canceled it via text message two days before, because "they only had one other appointment that day, and we're trying to see if they could move me to another day so the office could close." I said that I wasn't available to move my appointment, so they canceled it anyway. I don't give out one stars often, as I don't believe many businesses are that bad, but my family's experience has been far from even remotely decent. The dentist himself does a fine job but ended up charging me about $20 for fluoride gel on my teeth - which I was not told about or asked for. During that same visit, when I went in for a cleaning, he also charged me an extra $80 for a so-called "deep cleaning". When I noticed that I was charged that fee the next day when I looked at my receipt, I called and asked what differentiates a regular cleaning from a deep cleaning, and why I was not told about this. The witch of a front desk paper pusher said to me that it takes extra work to remove the excess plaque, and it is determined by "visual inspection", AKA a unilateral biased decision made only so the practice can nickel and dime each patient. When I realized I would be better off with the toothbrush that cleans my golf clubs and a box of baking soda, I tried to move dentist - I called and asked for my X-rays to be emailed to me - and you guessed it, a $35 service fee to seal the deal. Company policy they claimed. Poor operations and lackluster customer service seem to be in their highly structured bi-laws as well. Find another dentist, Reid should have to pay you to be a patient. To Reid - there is a typo on one of your fabulous accolades hung up in your waiting room, and read a book about how to treat clients, Good to Great by J. Collins is my recommendation for you. Cheers.

River Hills Dentistry, their staff and doctor Dr. Robert Reid, have always been professional, courteous and honest to myself as well as my family and friends. He's been drilling & fixing teeth for more than 20 years and I always leave feeling good and like I was looked after and well taken care of. Heck, I hate the dentist and getting shots but the doc made in feel nearly painless. If you need a good, ethical and great family doc, call these guys.

We are new to the area and so I set up appointments for my whole family two months ago with these guys. I called my old dentist who sent them copies of our records and x-rays (they CC'd me on the email so I know they were sent). Then, after waiting two months my wife gets a call the day before our appointment - right when they were closing - saying that they were cancelling our appointment because they never got the x-rays, which is just a lie. My wife told me what happened and I callled back immediately but it went to voicemail - they had already closed for the day. Since we had the whole morning booked with our five appointments, I'm guessing the staff just wanted to go to the beach or something. Absolutely horrible way to treat new patients. There's no way I will ever reschedule these appointments and sure as hell would never recommend this poorly run facility to a friend. Avoid at all costs unless you like being treated poorly. Check Yelp... plenty of other bad reviews of this office.
