I have been to a lot of Dentist Clinics in the past but I have to admit that River Crossing has been by far the best. And a perfect example of this has been Marlayia, the level of care and atention to detail that she has provided me has been far beyond my expectations. Overall the whole team is honestly top notch and you can see and feel that they do indeed take their work seriously.

Great Dentist office for the whole family! Very clean dental office! Awesome and knowledgeable staff! My 11 year old son says he loves the way his teeth get cleaned!

Awful experience! They didn't do a cleaning on my Daughter's teeth for her first checkup, that's usually mandatory. But yet they charged my insurance for it, they just cleaned it with the polish, not anything else that goes along with it. They did find a cavity but not on the tooth where my daughter said her pain was, on the opposite side of the moutj. When she came back a few days later to fix the cavity that they found, they were careless with the etchant material they used on the filling and literally burned her mouth, she had sores in and out. The next day she was still hurting on the tooth they said she didn't have a cavity so we ended up taking her to an emergency dentist elsewhere for a second opinion and sure enough she had a large cavity in it, one that definitely needed attention. We took her to a different doctor to get that worked on since it was cheaper to wait a day, who also gave us a third opinion and agreed with the Emergency Dentist that it needed to be worked on. I use to work for a dentist office, this is unacceptable!

I really liked the dental hygienist she was nice. However, I haven't been to the dentist in 8 years so I knew my teeth needed some tlc. Before that I went every six months. The hygienist told me I'd have to come back for root planning and scaling for a srp I believe is what they called it. I was trying to schedule at the same time as my husband for a Monday afternoon. Unfortunately they didn't have two hygienists working Monday afternoon. I was going to wait to book until my husband got home from work so we could figure out a time. He was mad that the hours really wouldn't work with his schedule so he asked me to find somewhere closer that does later appointments. I found a dentist down the street and explained what I needed. She requested the X-rays that were taken and called me back to let me know the dentist didn't think I need root planning but wanted to see in person to make sure. I go in and they were able to do a regular cleaning and told me my gums were all 1,2,3, and only one area that read 4. So for me that intense cleaning was not necessary. Also rivers crossing dentist told me I needed a crown. This dentist let me know it's a suspicious stain he is watching but he felt it and my tooth is not soft so a crown is not necessary. All in all this office isn't for me I feel they push unnecessary treatment and I prefer to be conservative unless aggressive action is needed. Always get a second opinion to make sure you really need what is suggested.

Although River Crossing Dental seems caring while a patient is having a lot of major work done on the teeth, the shaping of crowns and my upper denture turned out horrible. My top teeth were not straight to begin with. Once the denture was made, the denture showed the same crookedness of my original teeth. The two front teeth were not centered in my mouth. Also, the color of the new denture for my top teeth does not match the color of my new crowns on my lower teeth. Now I have multiple colors of teeth showing. Their tech's are not well trained in shaping the permanent crowns to fit the bite and the lab is horrible at getting dentures to look straight. Also, once the majority of the work is completed, their attitude and considerate approach to interaction changes significantly. Far more uncaring.

Marlayia (I hope I spelled that right!) is the best! She was so patient with me and has such a cute bubbly personality! She explained everything to in depth and detail. I felt totally comfortable to ask her any questions I had because she didn't make me feel dumb like all the hygienists at my previous dental office did. And I just love that she offered up so much more information! She practically played receptionist and hygienist with me because she even looked up what my insurance would cover for various things - without me asking her to! Then when Dr Petersen came, he was super awesome and patient as well. I honestly have not had a better experience at a dentist office. I came away feeling like I just made a new friend and I look forward to my next appointment!

To say I'm afraid of the dentist is an understatement!! I've had some really bad experiences that have impacted my desire to go see a dentist. These guys are AWESOME!!! I have been 3x in the past few months and every single time they are so great. I am so happy to have finally found a great dentist! The hygienist, front desk & Dentist are all amazing!! 5

I came in really anxious, they were very good with me and explained everything. The hygienist was good, gave me very good brushing tips to help reduce cavities.

I highly do NOT recommend for anyone to come here! I was recommended by a good friend to come here and when I came in the first time, I was told I needed a few fillings done, so that's what we did. First of all, I received multiple bills in the mail for things that I wasn't even supposed to pay for. When I gave the office a call, they admitted that it was a mistake. But that's not even the worse thing about this dental office. I've gotten fillings done before somewhere else, and they've been fine. However, this time it felt a lot different. I'm not sure what Dr. Peterson did, but it left my teeth feeling a lot worse than how it was before going in. I couldn't bite down on any food without a sharp pain. He told me it was going to be sensitive for a couple weeks. Which I thought was weird because I've never had this sensitive of teeth after getting a filling. A few months passed and I still had major sensitivity on my teeth where I got the fillings done. I scheduled another appointment with Dr. Peterson to get it looked at. After taking a look and taking X-rays, he said that it was fine and nothing was wrong. I told him about the pain when eating and all he said to me was "just wait another 6 months". He kept giving me this "I don't care" attitude. At this point, I knew I wasn't going to come back to Dr. Peterson and I definitely wasn't going to wait another 6 months in pain. So I went to another Dentist and told him my story. As soon as he took a look at my X-rays he pointed out at least 3 or 4 things Dr. Peterson did wrong. One of them being he drilled to close to my nerve and that's where the pain was coming from. When my new dentist fixed them, I could instantly feel a difference. I ate some chips (which before I definitely couldn't even take a bite of) and I didn't feel not one ounce of pain or sensitivity. Do not waste your time in going to Dr. Peterson unless you want to take the risk in walking out of his dental office worse than when you walked in.

I had a bad experience at River crossing dental. My crown came off I called into get scheduled asap and was put off for several days. The tooth was highly sensitive and caused me pain. When I finally got to see the Dr. I was told I needed a new crown and build up this was a crown I paid Dr.P for less than 5 years prior. I was told it was warrantied for 5 years. I was presented with a new bill to get fixed by office Mgr. She was very rude and snippy with me as she had treated me in the past. My old crown was glued back on but before this happened I asked how much and Dr.P said Free hmm. On my way out I asked for paper receipt and office Mgr. Said I am busy and would email it to me she was extremely rude in mannerisms. I asked Dr.P and was given receipt again office mgr.extremely rude. I had seen Dr.P for 6 years but made this experience my last due to office Mgr. Professionalism. Office MGR.EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!! MY opinion the staff makes the business experience good or bad! Office Mgr. Rude and unprofessional!

Came in as a new patient with my husband and Dr Peterson was very helpful. What really did it for me was after I had a temporary crown put in, my tooth was very sensitive. I didn't call as I was waiting for my permanent. Dr Peterson reached out and asked if everything was ok. I was really surprised and let him know what was going on. He got me in the next day to fix my temporary crown. Very satisfied with the amount of service the whole office provides.

Best dentist ever!!! The dentist and staff are wonderful and caring. Very professional. I especially love the fact that the office is well equipped with all you would need. They have same day crowns made right in the office, a great feature to have where other practices have you make multiple trips back into an office to complete them. We live in Layton and will still travel the distance to visit such a wonderful office.
