Dr. Rita graduated in 1983 from the College of St. Francis with a Bachelor of Science. She then graduated in 1988 from the Chicago College of Dental Surgery at Loyola University, further obtaining a Certificate of Specialty in Pediatric dentistry in 1990. She completed her residency at Loyola in 1990 and is currently a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and theChicago Dental Society.
Dr. Rita has followed in the footsteps of her late mother, Teodora Tamulis, who studied dentistry in Lithuania and Germany before coming to Joliet in the early 1940's. She spoke Lithuanian until the young age of five then began learning english as she started school. Dr. Rita is still fluent in Lithuanian today.

Q. How safe is Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen? Very safe. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is perhaps the safest sedative in dentistry. It is non-addictive. It is mild, easily taken then quickly eliminated by the body. Your child remains fully conscious, keeping all natural reflexes when breathing nitrous oxide oxygen.
Q. Will Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen work for all children? Pediatric dentists know that all children are not alike! Every service is tailored to your child as an individual. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is not effective for some children, especially those who have severe anxiety, nasal congestion, extensive treatment needs or discomfort wearing nasal mask. We love Dr. Rita. . I have three kids and have been taking them all to her for years. Her staff is amazing as well. My kids are comfortable there and she has taken such good care of them over the years. I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist.

My boys have been going to Dr. Rita for a few years now and honestly we couldn't ask for a better dentist for them. They are all so wonderful and inviting, which is very reassuring. My youngest son says that he loves going to the dentist, and my oldest has very sensitive teeth and struggles with the cleanings and they are so patient with him.

Everyone in the office is extremely friendly. We were in and out in 15 minutes. They are so so personable, quick and wonderful at what they do!!! My daughter who had a very traumatic past experience with dentists at the age of 4 loves coming to see Dr. Rita and her team.

My son has been going to Dr. Rita for the last 11 years. She was recommended to us by a dentist when my son was too scared on his first dentist visit to open his mouth. When he was little he always loved going to see her. Hes never been scared or refused to go back. Now that hes older he even mentions to me to make an appointment if its been awile since his last cleaning. They always remind me of appointments. The office is always do friendly and helpful. Dr Rita always lets me know how hes doing. I couldnt recommended her more. Call make an appointment.

I absolutely love this office. As a mother taking your child to the dentist is always scary on your child but on parents as well. Dr.Rita took time out of her busy schedule and walked me around the office showing me all the rooms and and different areas that my child will go to for her procedure. While my child sat quietly coloring with one of the nurses. My daughter first procedure was a little scary as she had to be held but we discussed it afterwards and she understand why. They did discuss the Papoose and I do have my concerns and will continue to talk to my daughter so hopefully we will not have to use this last resort.

My daughter loves going to see Dr. Rita. Everyone is always very friendly and it's fun for the kids. We have been going there since my 17 (almost 18) year old was little. I don't know what we will do without her. My daughter has mild autism and Dr. Rita is very good with the kids who do have disabilities. I highly recommend this dentist.
