Over her25 years of dental experience, Dr. Tempel has developed a special technique that allows her to give incredibly comfortable injections; so comfortable, in fact, that many patients cant believe they even received an injection.

Dr. Rita Antonini Tempel celebrates 29+ years of practicing dentistry. This includes three years of active duty in the Army Dental Corps and 16 years in her current practice located in Gettysburg, PA.

Dr. Tempel is highly experienced in all phases of cosmetic, restorative and implant dentistry. Excellent comprehensive dentistry is her overall goal for each and every patient. This includes patient health, goals and the trust that is earned and built.

Dr. Tempel established her practice on a core mission: To deliver outstanding, high-quality dental care which is beautiful, comfortable and long-lasting. Cosmetic Dentistry has long been her area of expertise; Dr. Tempels cosmetic dentistry sets her apart and it shows in her patients smiles. Patients rely on her experience and guidance, in deciding upon their smile design. As an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Tempel is one of 7 Accredited Members in the state of Pennsylvania. She has also successfully completed the requirements in Dental Sleep Medicine and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.

A new area of expertise is Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Tempel is passionate about patients health and providing comfortable solutions to the growing medical concern of sleep apnea. Dr. Tempel is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is enrolled in their mastery program. She works with patients physicians and sleep apnea specialists in our area to fabricate an oral appliance to assist in treating sleep apnea and as a alternative to the CPAP machine for patients.

Dr. Tempel is dedicated to continual learning in all phases of dentistry. She has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education and continues to learn and complete numerous hours of continuing education by attending monthly meetings, webinars and travels across the country for some of the best hands-on courses offered.

Dr. Rita Tempel and her husband have been married for 25 years. Her husband is an oral maxillofacial surgeon at Adams Oral Surgery, Hanover/Gettysburg. They have two sons, both of whom graduated from Gettysburg Area High School. The oldest son graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics and currently works locally as a helicopter mechanic; the younger son is currently attending Marywood University, studying architecture and playing college baseball. The Tempel family truly appreciates the rural lifestyle of Adams County. They enjoy fishing and traveling together. Gracie, the familys Italian greyhound, rounds out the family.

At Dr. Rita Tempels office, I hold the position of Office Manager and Expanded Function Dental Assistant. I have worked with Dr. Tempel since becoming licensed in 2005. My husband Marc and I have two energetic boys. I personally love spending time with my family and watching my children play baseball, football and basketball. I have enjoyed working in this field and seeing how dentistry can change a patients life forever by just smiling with confidence.

I am a registered dental hygienist at Dr. Rita Tempels office. I graduated from the dental hygiene program at Harrisburg Area Community College in 2016 and received the prestigious Access to Care Award. Since then, I returned to college and received my bachelors in dental hygiene from Wichita State University. As a registered dental hygienist, my main focus is on preventive treatment and delivering quality individualized care to each patient. I love helping my patients achieve and maintain optimum oral and overall health.

Being new to the dental field Ive been lucky to start my Dental Assisting career at Dr.Tempels office with her and her amazing staff. I completed the Dental Assisting program at Carroll Community College in 2021 and look forward to learning and growing here at Gettysburg Smiles. Helping to improve someones smile is a great pleasure!

I work full time for Dr. Rita Tempel as her Dental Practice Administrator. I have enjoyed working in the dental field for 30+ years. My goal is to make patients feel as comfortable and welcome as possible when they visit our practice.

I am a Registered Dental Hygienist with 32 years of experience. I practice part-time in Dr. Tempels office and truly enjoy it. I am a proud mom of 3 boys, and have been married to my best friend for 30 years. Im originally from central Illinois, where my father practiced dentistry. In fact, I am one of seven children, and 5 of us entered the dental field. My interests include running, biking, hiking, golfing and traveling.

A high school football accident knocked out this students 2 front teeth. Dr. Tempel collaborated with her orthodontist, oral surgeon and master ceramist to ultimately restore his handsome smile. One dental implant, orthodontics, and an esthetic ceramic crown and pontic were used in his case.

Patient had full mouth rehab, as teeth were worn down over years causing teeth to chip and break. Dr. Tempel restored his bite function and overall appearance by opening his bite and crowning his teeth. By opening his bite and restoring his teeth, we restored his appearance and made him look younger.
