Dr.Ronald K. Risinger, a native of Orange, Texas, graduated from Orangefield High School in 1981. He attended Lamar University and received his dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1988, graduating with honors. In 1989, Dr. Risinger was recognized as a distinguished graduate from an U.S. Air Force general practice residency program at Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois. He practiced general dentistry in the Air Force for five years, serving at Edwards Air Force Base, California.
Dr. Risinger was selected by the Air Force to receive advanced training in the specialty of orthodontics. After three years of intensive study, he graduated with a masters degree and an orthodontic specialty certificate from the University of North Carolina in 1996. Upon graduation, Dr. Risinger served a three-year tour as an orthodontist with the Air Force in Tokyo, Japan.
Dr. Risinger has received numerous professional awards and is a published author in several international dental journals. He has also been an invited lecturer at national and international orthodontic meetings. Dr. Risinger is board certified with the American Board of Orthodontics, and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. Dr. Risinger is a past-president of the Southeast Texas Dental Society and a member of the Texas Dental Association.
Dr. Risinger opened his private practice in orthodontics in August 1999 in Beaumont, Texas. In 2002, he opened a satellite office in Port Arthur, Texas. He is honored to have treated over 9,000 patients in Southeast Texas over the last 17 years.
Dr. Risinger is married to Lynn Risinger, and has one daughter, Brittney, and two sons, Dane and Logan. Brittney graduated from Lamar University in 2012 and now works in the fashion industry. Dane is a Sophomore at Baylor University, where hes studying to be an orthodontist. Lastly, Logan is a busy 9th grader, playing golf and basketball for Orangefield.
Dr.Michael F. Nelson is a native of Southern California. After graduating from Burbank High School, he attended Brigham Young University, where he graduated in with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1996. During his time at BYU, he took a two year break for a church service mission in France and Belgium.
Dr. Nelson returned to Southern California to attend dental school at University of California, Los Angeles. He graduated in 2001 as part of the honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Nelson served his Orthodontic and Pediatric Dental residency at UCLA, the only program of its kind in the country. He completed his residency in 2004 and began his private practice in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dr. Nelson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Pediatric Dentists, and Texas Dental Association. He currently serves on the board of the Dental Society of Southeast Texas as President-Elect.

I always look to forward to my appointments here! Too bad I have only one left . The staff are all so friendly, making you feel at home the minute that you walk in. We have always been very pleased with the results obtained from the work of Dr. Risinger and his staff. Highly recommend this Orthodontist and staff.

When we arrived we were greeted by all the staff,pleasant atmosphere, the entire place was very neat and clean . The Dr was very professional, took his time explaining everything pertaining to my daughter's full treatment plan for her braces . High recommended

My son Ryan has been doing his ortho with Dr. Risinger and I have nothing but good things to say about them. The doctor and staff are amazing all around. Minimal wait time every visit and everyone is super friendly. All my children will be getting their braces here for sure.

The doctor and staff were great. They immediately checked me in and gave me papers to sign. I was taken to a room in less than ten minutes. The xrays for my teeth were easy and very comfortable. Everything was explained step by step I would definitely recommend Risinger & Nelson.

Everyone was super nice and very friendly. They made sure my son was comfortable at all times and that he was okay. He was super excited to get his braces on, and everyone there made sure he enjoyed his visit. Would highly recommend this office for your every day orthodontic needs!!!

I really love the doctors and staff. They were great with me back from 2000-2004, they were great with my daughter these last few years as well. They also were great today when I went to them to replace my retainers I had lost back in August from evacuating from a hurricane. I highly recommend all the doctors and staff here for all ages.

This was the first time for my daughter to visit an Orthodontist, she was super nervous! When we arrived we were pleasantly greeted and impressed with the process. Everyone there is exceptional and put my daughter at ease quickly!! Dr. Risinger is very patient and answered all our questions!!
