Wisdom teeth get their name from the fact that they usually appear at a later or older stage when compared to the rest of our teeth. According to the American Dental Association (ADA), this normally happens between the ages of 17 and 21. Wisdom teeth are four molars located at the very back of your mouth, but it is not uncommon for people to have less or even no wisdom teeth at all. If you are not able to see them in your mouth, they could still be under your gums, so the best idea is to get an x-ray.
Not everyone will need to have their wisdom teeth removed, but it is a common thing to do since these can start giving you problems at any point in time. Besides feeling pain there are several reasons you may need an extraction. One of the main reasons a wisdom tooth needs to be extracted is because it doesnt have enough room to come out from the gum. Other common issues that will lead to extraction are infections, damage to neighboring teeth, bone loss, or even just for prevention. Even if your wisdom tooth isnt causing a real issue yet, it could still mean trouble in the future. If the tooth is partially out, it could cause bacteria and plaque to build up around it, if the tooth is on its side, it can cause bone loss around the roots. You should always ask your dentist if and when it would be best for you to have them removed.
Once youve had the procedure done, there are a few things you can do to help your mouth heal a bit quicker. Ice, cold packs, and cool water will be your best friends for a couple of days since the cold will help with any soreness and swelling you may have. Try eating soft foods that wont hurt the sensitive area and avoid spicy foods, alcohol, hot beverages, and smoking. The most important thing is to always follow your doctors instructions.

I made payment arrangements of 135.00 to be taken out to pay off a small bill. Looking at my account This dental office just took out 442.00 out of my account. THEY HAD NO PERMISSION TO DO THAT! I heard this office is known for that. I WANT MY FUNDS PUT BACK IN !!

I have showed up to apointment 5 minutes past the Grace period and was not accepted the braces are fully paid and it's been 4months since my daughter was last seen and is past her 6months cleaning. However when we show up to our appointment on time we wait 15-30 mintues to be seen.Figure that.Risa appointment reschedule time frame is so unconventional I'm single working mother, I found it frustrating as this is the second appointment we missed now the next appointment is 2months out now we have to wait approx 2more months it will be a half yr to be seen to tighten and change her colors its so disappointing as this office has been wonderful and the Dr is great but i had to switch office to get my daughter in a week sooner then this office could.

Went on free dental day, the wait wasn't bad, can't complain. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got a filling and it took less than 20 minutes. Definitely going back soon.

free dental day was amazing!. had a great recommendation to pull the tooth and I didn't even know it was infected! So I pulled it.. well .. the doctor pulled it.. amazing numbing technique. I really am grateful we have dentists in the Valley who care enough to help those of us who are poor and can't afford it . Everyone else out there are just in for the money. Risa's Dental whole crew were so friendly and helpful... I almost want to cry.
