Wisdom teeth get their name from the fact that they usually appear at a later or older stage when compared to the rest of our teeth. According to the American Dental Association (ADA), this normally happens between the ages of 17 and 21. Wisdom teeth are four molars located at the very back of your mouth, but it is not uncommon for people to have less or even no wisdom teeth at all. If you are not able to see them in your mouth, they could still be under your gums, so the best idea is to get an x-ray.

Not everyone will need to have their wisdom teeth removed, but it is a common thing to do since these can start giving you problems at any point in time. Besides feeling pain there are several reasons you may need an extraction. One of the main reasons a wisdom tooth needs to be extracted is because it doesnt have enough room to come out from the gum. Other common issues that will lead to extraction are infections, damage to neighboring teeth, bone loss, or even just for prevention. Even if your wisdom tooth isnt causing a real issue yet, it could still mean trouble in the future. If the tooth is partially out, it could cause bacteria and plaque to build up around it, if the tooth is on its side, it can cause bone loss around the roots. You should always ask your dentist if and when it would be best for you to have them removed.

Once youve had the procedure done, there are a few things you can do to help your mouth heal a bit quicker. Ice, cold packs, and cool water will be your best friends for a couple of days since the cold will help with any soreness and swelling you may have. Try eating soft foods that wont hurt the sensitive area and avoid spicy foods, alcohol, hot beverages, and smoking. The most important thing is to always follow your doctors instructions.

I can't speak for risas as a whole, I feel that it is a good organization, however, I CAN speak for dr. Rogers - he is an absolutely phenomenal dentist, person and professional. Honestly, I'm excited to go to the dentist knowing I get to kick it for a second with him, and I've seen some dentists having played hockey for my whole life. Would highly recommend !

(Translated by Google) I have been a patient for years here at Risas Dental. My daughter and my husband are too and whenever I can I refer people to this branch. (I always come to the one on the federal and evans.) I have always received good service but lately they are taking too long to serve you. My appointment is at 9:00 am, I arrive on time and they end up seeing me 45 minutes later whenever I come. The same with my husband, daughter and the people I have referred. If there is something that bothers me too much, it is that you ask for a service and its cost and they always want to do the service first and then tell you the cost. Example: my friend came a couple of months ago to ask as soon as she had a tooth treated (she only came for an evaluation), they took her information, took her to the room and proceeded to inject her with anesthesia. My friend didn't know what to do and with her mouth numb, she told them that before they started she needed to know the cost to know if she could cover it. I mean how? First they anesthetize you and then they tell you the cost? This makes us think that you (dental laughter) want to pressure the patient so that he ends up accepting any cost since the patient has already been anesthetized. And so they wanted my friend to pay for the cost of the anesthesia anyway. This is ridiculous!!!! The most logical thing is to let the patient know any costs before starting any treatment. I hope you take this into account and do something about it.

My visits here has not been the best. The first visit took an hour and a half just get a consultation for braces. At the end of the appointment I was asked if I wanted to get them same day, witch it was great to get them that soon. Unfortunately I wasn't prepared for same day but did schedule for next day after work. (Was around 6pm) The next day it took about 40 mins just to get me back to ex-rays. The whole appointment again was about 2 hours long. The next 2 days one of the brakets got loose and while eating some ck broth. I went to the practice to see if they can fix it and they were close for remodeling. So I called anyways to see if they. Can get me in and so they sent me a Wheat Ridge location. There I did 2 walk-ins, first day they say I didn't have an appointment and I couldn't make an appointment till till sep13 unless I did another walking the following day. I didnt make the appointment because my location closest to me would be open on Sep 7th so I did another walking the next day. Again they said they couldn't get me in. So that was a waste of my time and gas. Today was the day that Evans location would reopen, so I did another walk-in and now they said they couldn't get me in because the orthodontist was not in and he only comes once a month. To do. Walk-in again on Friday. I've been stuck with a loose braket that they didn't put on right for 2 weeks and a half and dont know what to do. I am paying for my treatment and feel like they dont want to help me and just collect my $. This is not right.

The dental assistant that helped my family was awful. How could you allow someone to be on the phone, that has so much bacteria and then use the same hand he was texting with in my husbands mouth? He "fixed" a chipped tooth only to have the same tooth chipped 3 days later. He was also fast and aggressive with my 9 year old son. I'm really disappointed with his level of care. The dr we saw was great, I wish the assistant matched his level of care and quality.

Dr Isaac and Saul did a great job with my fillings, they got me in and out in good time! Dr Isaac is great, on my first visit he listened to my health situation, and then asked what I wanted to get done. I told him I wanted the teeth which are decaying (4), fixed, without having to get a crown on the one that is worse. He said he would do his best to make it happen, and he did!!!

I just want to point out that this past year the customer service here makes me feel very unsatisfied , I make appointments and they cancel on me when I show up, because they don't know what they are doing. There's no control on my account, they charge me money and they don't provide me with the services I need, nor they give me the correct information. They want to give me a new quote every time I go. On top of that, the ladies in the front desk have been extremely rude to me! ( two last appointments the front lobby and the exam rooms were very dirty as well.)
